I went into Carters once and was shocked that I could pick up and play anything....great friendly store. Wish I lived in the area.
Oh my goodness we're gonna be so drunk by the end of this 😂. Carter Vintage? DRINK 🍷!
I went to Nashville about 3 weeks ago for the first time. I went in Carter's vintage guitar store 2 times. Got to play 4 pre war martins. I came home with a Martin Super D. I'm happy.
Those JL470s are something pretty special. We have one in stock at the moment and its an inspiration machine. PM
I bought a shirt last time I was in Carter and did the whole “whew found something I can afford”
No one was impressed. Great store. Great people.
This is great. I’d never get tired of seeing these. I think they could be a fair bit longer with more stuff pulled from the rack and not get old. Thanks for sharing, and I’ll look forward to the next one!
Much improved from the prior outing. Loved this. Would have watched even more. Thanks for the tour.
More to come!
Absolutely love this video episode! All fine players but really dig hearing Matthew play! Please do more! 🎸🤙🏽🤘🏼
Thank you. I hit hard and hit often.
Carters is awesome. Been there several times and everyone is always really nice. Met Doug Aldrich last time I went but they were closed. We were both bummed but he was a really nice guy. Took some pics and talked for a minute.
Always love hearing your playing Zach!
I miss living in Nashville and being able to visit Carter's all the time. That Collings JL looks and sounds beautiful!
I like this a lot. Guitar shops are some of my favorite places to hang out in. Unfortunately we don’t have a ton here. But I always like watching tours and trying out stuff. Keep it up. Thanks.
The part about knowing when you get all sweaty is accurate. Sheesh 😅
Getting sweaty and calling a family member is the hallmark of a good guitar safari.
Such a cool store that I had the pleasure of visiting back in late August!
Definitely need more of these!
Very fun! Looking forward to more tours. Peace
Great idea zack cheers
I love these videos! I need to make it to Carter soon. I don’t know how I’ve lived here five years without going there.
Very fun!
Went to carter's right before covid the weekend Nashville had the horrible tornado...carter's is awesome! They had a Klon in their display at the time
I was in there last Thursday, I thought I saw you there. I should have said hi! I ended up getting an acoustic from there, I love it.
Hoping to visit next year!
Great series. Love videos like this. More, Zach!
More to come!
Wish there was more talk about the store itself & what makes it a great store, the vibe, the people, the layout (that shot between the rows gave me a panic attack how tight it looked with expensive stuff chip & dingably close), the gear. A why do we (you) love it sort of thing. Also wish there was more Matthew playing. In a world of noodlers (myself included, & not a sleight) ever underestimate the value of someone smashing some power chords with a big ol smile.
What I lack in technical skill I make up for in sheer brute force.
@@MythosMatthew Brute force is a technical skill not enough people can do well.
Wow, that Gretch sounds great!
The Alessandro amps always sound amazing
Awesome! That Gretch was interesting man.
Great video! Love that Billy Bo!!
Me too!
I played one of those Collings JL 470 guitars at Fretboard Summit in 2022 and it has haunted me just like it haunts McKinley
Every time I'm in Nashville I go to Peg Leg for lunch, some of my favorite dry rub ribs out there
💯 Yes!!!
Damn that Allessandro sounds great
Great idea!
Please also bring a bassplaying friend and try some Nashville basses too!
Because, a bassguitar (or baritone or bass VI like instrument) is just a guitar too..., 😉.
🖖
My Gibson Explorer E/2 from 1979 is there and someone should buy it so I can fund more guitar purchases
"Get it, cause getting stuff is cool"
It sure is
I know it’s a little out of the way, but y’all should go to Jack’s Guitarcheology in Lebanon. I know everyone thinks about their rubber bridge stuff, but he has an amazing selection of oddball stuff. Silvertone, Kay, Tiesco, etc. And they’re just cool folks. I’ve added them to my tour when I do my Nashville pilgrimages.
I came for the guitars, but I stayed for the lunch.
Dude! wonderful video. I remember eating at that BBQ place with Emily from Get Offset at summer NAMM! good times!
Thanks man! Come back to town and we'll just go find BBQ!
@@MythosPedals I am completely down for that!
Best shop with the worst parking lot in Nashville!
Haha yeah it’s not great
Is Jeff from Nashville? I don't want this to come across as derogatory or anything but he looks like he comes from Nashville, and I think that's awesome. He's got a really cool, distinct look about him. :)
Jeff is from Alabama, he is also the coolest person from Alabama I know of.
The drinking game just got intense 🥲
I thought Gruhn had this market all sewed up and there wasn't room for another vintage dealer in Nashville. I was wrong.
Well, did you make a transaction? That's what we all wanted to know.
I did get a guitar but not at CVG. I’ll be making a video soon about what I got!
The Collings 470 JL is a keeper. Collings makes the best new guitars on the market, in my humble opinion... They have more soul than the PRSs, whose build quality is also beyond reproach.
Both are great. My PRS guitars are fantastic with a ton of character and mojo ;)
@@MythosPedals Thanks for your reply. I was a big fan of PRS guitars (I had 6) but I ended up selling them all and I don't really miss them. On the contrary, I had 3 Collings and I really miss the 2 I sold... You can't argue with tastes and colours... and yet that's all we do ;)
11:11 Was that Jack Ruch walking by?
the Gretch was the one
It was really cool
Is this the day you bought your 335???
It is! That video is incoming!
I want to go to Carters, but I REALLY want some barbecue.
We generally want BBQ more than anything else. Going to CVG is just really an excuse to go to Peg Leg!
@@MythosPedals It seems like every time I'm in Nashville the company puts me up at the Omni, so I always just walk around the corner to Martin's. I prefer Peg Leg though.
Drink!
Drink! lol
"Bankrupt yourself,ruin your family " 😀.
Drink.
I'm sorry, but no guitar is ever worth $8000, particularly with basically 1950s specs. Great tour though, thanks-guitar stores are great
Agree to disagree, but guitar stores are great.
thanks for sharing
