Isn't it lovely to get home into your own home, comfortable furniture, your own coffee mugs, a bathroom that you don't have to share with random people. That moment when you have a shower (if your able, I'm not always able) then get into your own bed...bliss! I hope you're recovered now x
The algorithm decided to pop this onto my front page, one which is usually filled with the stuff I usually enjoy. Gaming, Science, Firearms, etc. But goodness me, I'm glad it did. Not only is the video lovely, but Its so nice to see the comments section completely void of negativity. Hope everyone else who ended up here from the far-flung corners of the internet is doing well! 🤙
It's sooooo interesting to see the hodgepodge of people from all corners of the internet getting this pushed into their algorithm, for whatever reason. And the seemingly universal comfort and nostalgia it seems to bring people , like it is gathering the world's grandchildren into a cozy and warm knitted blanket with a chocolate chip cookie, for a few moments of peace and serenity, away from all the chaos around us. I also watch a lot of science, firearms/ and government co rrup tion content, and courtroom/crime related content, so this was an unexpected breath of fresh air for me 😊 I think the world is in desperate need of THIS kind of slow paced, calming and healing content in their daily lives, and I think the algorithm pushing content like this (rather than the constant barrage of fear mongering and stupid trends and misinformation) should be applauded and appreciated for once!
I’m a 67 year old Millwright and don’t really know how this came up for me to watch this but I’m surly glad it did. I don’t plan on making any cards soon but when I get the urge, I have a great instructor by watching your video. I miss my mom. Thanks and God bless.

I don't know how it is in the US but in Australia if you buy something more often hardware stores will have a ton of cardboard boxes of all sizes behind the registers like in the path where you leave. And you can grab as many as you can carry to put all your hardware bits in. Aldi is much the same. You find one of their opened top boxes carrying a few items, canned food is always in short open topped boxes only a few inches tall, and you throw the cans on the shelf and use that shallow box instead of your carry bag/tote and the cashiers are used to it.

You can also stamp with Vaseline, spray alcohol all over the paper, then add the alcohol ink if you want lighter colors. With the paper being wet first your alcohol ink will really spread fast. I love the second paper. Gorgeous 😍
That Vaseline jar took me right back to my childhood--I can't believe you still have it! I absolutely love these cards. It's funny thinking that when I was born in 1985, it was already considered an old jar! At the top it says it was $0.89, or about $8.50 in today's money. It's gotten a lot more expensive these days!

Just a tip I thought I'd share with you, after doing the vaseline stamps try spraying the whole card with alcohol first and then do the drops of alcohol ink. It spreads faster and it should give you that lighter look you're going for. I remember learning this technique as a child in art class and always thought it was so pretty. Just Google WorthPoint..and you will find information about this Vaseline jar..it's
1967 Vaseline Jar Jack & Jilll Kid Graphics Vintage Packaging.
Isn't it lovely to get home into your own home, comfortable furniture, your own coffee mugs, a bathroom that you don't have to share with random people. That moment when you have a shower (if your able, I'm not always able) then get into your own bed...bliss! I hope you're recovered now x
I wasn't sure what the Vaseline would do and I am amazed! Especially love that dragonfly print. Looks soooo professional! Thank you for sharing this!
You can get a similar effect when using a white crayon, wax does the same effect :) it just prevents the colour from adhering to the card
These are so beautiful, and precious. Thankyou for sharing, can't wait to see more of your crafts!!!🌿🌺🦋
I also watch a lot of science, firearms/ and government co rrup tion content, and courtroom/crime related content, so this was an unexpected breath of fresh air for me 😊
I think the world is in desperate need of THIS kind of slow paced, calming and healing content in their daily lives, and I think the algorithm pushing content like this (rather than the constant barrage of fear mongering and stupid trends and misinformation) should be applauded and appreciated for once!
I’m a 67 year old Millwright and don’t really know how this came up for me to watch this but I’m surly glad it did. I don’t plan on making any cards soon but when I get the urge, I have a great instructor by watching your video. I miss my mom. Thanks and God bless.
Your arms and hands are so comforting and mesmerizing to watch 🌸🌼🌺 I miss my grandma so much ❤

Oh my goodness! 89 cents for Vaseline! The last jar I saw like that was at a Ben Franklin Five and Dime with Mama!
Your cards are so elegant and simply stunning! I thank you for generously sharing your expertise and this beautiful technique! Truly an oldie but a goodie!
I hope and pray you are fully recovered and living your best life making exquisite cards! 😊
This came out so beautiful! I teach art at a elementary and middle school. I think students would have so much fun with this.. Just gotta find a lot of box tops for the ink! Thanks for showing us!!
I'm not sure where you're located but there's a lot of art teachers who attend the TAEA conference in Texas or the NAEA conference where you can come and teach art teachers one of your lessons for students! I think other art teachers would love it learn!
I have loads of techniques that that age would/might like. I hope to upload one of these today or tomorrow. If you pm me, i will give you my phone number and I can give you a preview of techs I am going to

Why not ask the kids to bring in an old box top? When everyone has got one (maybe some could bring in a couple and share) then have the class.
Despite being older & having significant health issues, you’re sharing craft techniques & spreading positivity throughout the world. Not only that, you personally offered to show, those teaching young kids, ways to learn these crafts. You’re a great eg of how you can share positivity & light until your last breath. You’re a lovely lady, your crafts are beautiful & I’m subscribed based on your spirit. 💕
Love this lady’s sharing of her gift and ideas! I especially liked how she was using that ipad pro box for the painting of the cards😂 So fun!
You can also stamp with Vaseline, spray alcohol all over the paper, then add the alcohol ink if you want lighter colors. With the paper being wet first your alcohol ink will really spread fast. I love the second paper. Gorgeous 😍
No
That’s what I was coming to say, it would stop there being dark spots where the ink first lands.
When the inks are dry do you wipe the vaseline off?
@sarahhutchins yes.
@cheerfulgreetings5535 thank you!
That Vaseline jar took me right back to my childhood--I can't believe you still have it! I absolutely love these cards. They are so much prettier and more creative than other card making videos I've seen. Thank you for your great tutorial and the calm, sweet way you explain things. Happily subscribed!
The jar is what made me click on the video. I remember it from my childhood too. She called it antique.. man we're old! 😭😄
The old vintage har is so pretty, an art piece too.
Miss Vicky, 2 month no crafting. OMG you did it - good to have you back. TY for this wonderful trick. Greetings from Calgary 🙋♀
I’m not quite sure how I ventured upon this video, have no clue what she’s doing. But I close my eyes and I just listen to her talk, I’m 50 years old I lost my grandmother many years ago and just listening to this woman reminding me of her, and I could hear my grandmother‘s voice, as she taught me how to sew Barbie clothes when I was a little girl. Before I knew it, tears were rolling down my face as I miss her dearly. That being said I hope and pray this lovely lady is well and again I don’t know how this video popped up for me but I’m so glad it did…
I miss you Grandma Jenni ❤
What a wonderful treat from RUclips. I'm 64 yrs old and I remember my own mother making holiday cards. Although my mother's cards were beautiful, I think these are extraordinary. Mom would have loved seeing this video and no doubt she would have taken the time to learn this technique. Sooo unique and beautiful.
It's so nice to see someone in their golden years still doing what they love!
It's very inspiring and comforting!
Here's to more wonderful years with you, grandma! ♥️
Thank you for teaching this technique. Love seeing the vintage Vaseline jar too! Brings back memories of when my kids were little and the jars were still made in a square with screw top lid and kid friendly designs. Blessings!
I think I've made up my mind! Card making shall be my new hobby. Thus was a lovely tutorial by an even lovelier lady. Thank you so much! I feel super inspired! ❤💕❤
You and EVERYONE else have inspired me to try and do a little better. I’m sorry my voice is not as clear as it used to be.
If you have a chance check out my Cool Cards (1-10) as there are so many different ways to fold a card too.

I'll check it out after my nap, thank you and much love! 💕❤💕🥰
I love that even though you have not been well, you still made these and even made a "get well soon" card. That is so sweet. Your cards are beautiful
Hello. Just so you know, you are making a lot of people happy with your videos!! We wish you all the best in life! ❤️
I have never seen this technique before. I love way the dragon fly paper turned out - that’s my fav - but the flowers are pretty. TFS! 🇨🇦❤️
Not sure why your video showed up in my feed, because I've been watching lots of non-art and non-craft videos, but i sure do love listening to you. I feel like I'm sitting right at the table with you doing crafts like i did with my mom and grandma, and you're chatting with me and teaching me ❤ Subscribed!
Same this was recommended to me and I’m not sure why RUclips did this except it’s late and maybe it thought I needed a night time chilled video : )
The Purple/Blue dragonfly card was just beautiful. You would pay a lot for that in a card shop but you make it seem so easy to do yourself. I might have to give it a try because at the very least it looks like a very relaxing hobby.
My grandma died last month and she basically made my life. I miss her. Thank you for making my day ❤
My grandma recently passed away, i only have one grandma left as both of my grandpas passed. I agree with the other comments saying this video pops up when you need a grandma
Your accent the way you breath your personality and even your hands reminds me of my little mamaw not one day goes by that I don't miss her thank you for the video
The Hands. It’s her Hands, that say so very much.
These are beautiful. I used to make handmade cards with my grandmother as a child using dried and laminated wildflower arrangements from our local river. These cards are so meaningful to look back on. Great video!
That sounds beautiful
I love these! With cards costing $4.00 or more, your tutorial is very timely. Thank you for sharing your craft.
My Grandmother died when i was very young. I really think children need their grandparents because of their life experiences and advices. I remember them very fondly. Your videos are important to many young people and you can be very proud of that. Sending love from germany.
I'm so glad the internet has made it so people who love their art can share their wisdom with so many. Due to unfortunate family circumstances, I never really got to connect with either one of my grandmothers on this stuff - but community is a sort of family, isn't it?
I appreciate your straightforward style of video and will be watching more. I love techniques like this to get the most out of your art supplies! Hope you are well 😊
Your cards turned out FANTASTIC. I love both designs, but the colors are very pretty on the dragonfly. TFS I hope you feel better soon. 🤗💛🙏🎨
Thank you for your sweet comment This technique is so easy and you always have good results.
Watching this is making me a bit emotional in the best way. Reminds me of spending time with my grandmothers (who both now have dementia) and my great grandma who is no longer with us. Makes me feel like a kid again AND I learned something new. Grateful to you for sharing your talents with us, I hope your health has improved and you have a wonderful New Year! Finding your channel has been a real treat. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💞
This video just popped up in my feed and I have to say I am so glad it did! I have never heard of this technique for stamping, and I’ve been stamping for over 15 years! That Jar is from 1967 for those curious.
I indeed was very curious thank you
lasted longer than the chernobyl power plant
It's funny thinking that when I was born in 1985, it was already considered an old jar! At the top it says it was $0.89, or about $8.50 in today's money. It's gotten a lot more expensive these days!
@@GregoryRCosta It's gotten a lot more cheaper actually. Aint no bottle of vaseline 8$ today when you can get a 13oz jar for $2.36
I miss the smell of vasoline from the 60’s
Well, young lady, I haven't seen a vasoline jar shaped like yours in at least 45 years, and no telling how old it was at the time, lol. Those were very beautiful cards you made, and thank you for sharing your technique. Nice to make something as opposed to buying them😊
Thank you for taking the time to teach us even though you Are not feeling well. Blessings to you . xx Great technique !!!
They are beautiful! Love this idea! Thank you for sharing, Julie
I am so glad you like this technique. The results are always good which is a plus.
I am an elder millennial gamer and this was suggested to me. You remind me of my godmother. I miss her a lot. Hope you feel better.
What a charming video. I pray the people that receive her cards appreciate the love & attention she put into making her works of art❤God bless her & the person who made the video & editing & uploaded:)
Miss Vicky, I so enjoy you working ! I Love the way you craft, and admire your wisdom and patience God Bless You Carrie from Kansas :)
What wonderful craft project to do with kids! So glad this popped up on my You Tube videos. I was fortunate to have a wonderful loving grandma who taught me many wonderful things in the 1960s.
I am glad to see you moving and helping fellow crafters learn from you.
This video randomly came into my feed. Nice to see a normal person still making videos on RUclips. I hope to see more.
Its mother's day and I miss my grandmothers. Happy Mother's day. Thank you for making these videos!
It turned out beautiful. I had no idea about using the Vaseline in art work. Awesome! 😊❤
Awesome to see you using it to make such lovely cards! Every single one was beautiful! I just came across your channel and definitely will be subscribing. I know this is an older video but I hope your health has been better!
After the inks are dry do you wipe the vaseline off?
@@sarahhutchinsyes, she mentions that towards the end of the video, before she shows her completed cards 😊
Lovely. Old techniques are new to me, glad to see it.
It is kind of like clothes, what goes around comes back about every 20 years or so.
A touch of Vaseline rubbed over perfume makes the smell linger all day also.
Your adorable ❤️
Stop infantilizing older people. They are adults. Not babies.

I really don't think petroleum jelly is any different than any year before. That's what Vaseline is, petroleum jelly.

Actually, it’s now more refined than when I was a kid in the 60’s. Vaseline of my youth was a darker yellow and it noticeably smelled like oil.
