Video was a little delayed because I came down with a cold...you probably can hear it in my voice and see it in my face...feeling better now after making this though 😬
Didn't know one of my favorite RUclipsrs is a fellow kababayan!
I had no idea you were filipino! Love this and it also transported me back to my childhood dinners. Your Lola's version of nilaga looks so healthy and easy to make! would love to see her take on other traditional dishes. Great work dude!
Okay i already loved your channel as it was, but this even lifts it up to a higher level
Definitely wanna see more recipes from your grandma! Love videos like this.
Growing up I loved eating my mother’s Lumpia, Pancit (especially during birthdays), Mechado, and other Filipino dishes.
But recently, Beef Nilaga has been hitting that nostalgia that her other dishes haven’t for a while. Nilaga was always a dish I had when I was sick and eating it as an adult, I am always taken back to the times when my parents were there when I needed them the most. Loved this video.
Can’t wait to try this! Would love to see more videos like this, keep up the good work 👍🏼
Your dish looks incredible! I am definitely trying this out. Maybe I’ll be able to add it to my list of comfort foods, too. I would love to see more recipes from you. If all cooking shows were like this, I think I’d have no problem sitting and watching for hours. Your video style is addicting, as always. You’re one of the few RUclipsrs I will seek out if I want to watch something.
I'm gonna try making it, looks delicious! 👌🏽
(Great, chill and aesthically-pleasing upload as always, Hueguh! 👍🏽)
the finger test on the rice. you a real one🤌
I love these cooking vids by you, made it so easy to follow along!
Brought tears to my ears, thank you for bringing this traditional recipe to life here. I was always hesitant to do this family recipe because I felt it may have been too complicated, but you made it look effortlessly. Thank you
This video is a great addition to your playlist Eric👍
Looking forward for more content like this
i just found your channel today, and i am obsessed!
Wow man great recipe!
I’ve had this few days ago. It’s my first time trying. I like it
so nice to see a fellow filipino who's a minimalist! hello here from philippines kabayan!
Nakakagutom!
I love the presentation 💕
I add laurel leaves and sweet potatoes to mine. 🍠
You gotta do a separate playlist for more of these food/ cooking videos, please! I was about to make sinigang tonight, but now I might have to make Nilaga since it's been so long since I've had it!
Singang > Nilaga, was my grandpas favorite...will work on that next!
@@Hueguh I can’t wait!
First comment. Always good getting hueguh content!
Actually I was thinking on Caldo de Res, it is part of my childhood too! Great video :)
Nilaga is so Sarap
I love Nilaga!
Your content latley and how you shoot and edit has been fire latley
A “What’s in my kitchen” would be nice. Redoing our kitchen inventory and would be a great guide.
Watching this while eating my own Nilaga, this can't be a coincidence
WOW sarap
Sarap pare! Good job man!!!
Hi Hueguh. Keep it up. You are awesome.--Regin
Mmmmmm…masarap!
Never knew you were Filipino…..Is this dish any different to Bulalo?
👍🏼 Liked- from Tokyo 🇯🇵
More pinoy recipe kabayan.. og subscriber here
I was thinking this looked just like Caldo de Res, then you said it. I want some now lol.
Thanks for the recipe and video! I love how different cultures can connect over food. I'm from Argentina and we call this dish "Puchero" and I'm guessing it all boils down (heh) to Spanish influence in both our countries. We don't add ginger (not a local ingredient) and ours include sweet potato and sometimes squash. We also fight over the bone marrow! Best part of the dish hands down.
we also have a dish called pochero in the philippines
Beef shank is a great CHEAP cut full of flavor. I pick this for my beef stew and the bone marrow enhances the thick stew texture in my opinion. It can be had for
Yum 🇵🇭!
Great video, it brings back childhood memories in the Philippines for me! I have question, what equipment do you use, if any, to get stabilized overhead shots for when you were filming the dishes? I also just recently bought an A7IV and plan to start making videos. Thanks in advance!
Tinola video next pls
In Argentina we call that PUCHERO, the only diference is we use the vegetal we had at the moment and so many has posible.
❤
LOL in Peru that's called SANCOCHADO and it's exactly the same thing :D
When is your updated house tour coming...?
Nilaga is Filipino hygge :)
What? You were filipino?! Anyway this was the basic but best to cook every rainy season.
My concern is that the meat will dry out, so do you add some of the broth to the meat before cooking the veg? Nice video by the way.
el tipo se hiso un puchero, bien ahí
This passed the legit test because of the finger check on the rice water level 😆
✊🏼🇵🇭
Did I miss the patis?
Nice. But with the ginger, this is more of a Tinola than a Nilaga. Traditional Nilaga doesn’t have ginger. At least the ones in Tagaytay bulaluhans.
Filipino Pot Au Feu 😬💀 who told you that lmao
You use your finger in measuring the rice/water, uncle Roger will be proud XD
uncle Roger will be happy
Your hands move like you haven't cooked much. But great stew.
Bro this is bulalo 😂
