  • Riding in the backcountry of the Andes mountains in Peru is no joke! We found ourselves on some gnarly and dangerous roads but the views and the people kept us going.

Do you guys have an agenda? Do you have reservations at the next "hotel"? How do know where you're going, or are you just winging it?

And do you have to get different currency in every country?

@@marshallgerston4809 yes we have an agenda.... that is very flexible. Glenn looks at the general area where we want to go on google maps then hits the hotel button. If there's a lot of hotels in the area then we know it's generally a good place for tourists to go. If there's nothing available then we know it's a pass through town. We also talk to a ton of locals to get recommendations. Lately we haven't been making reservations because the roads are getting rougher and we don't always make it to where we want to go. it's also nice to get someplace and check it out first. We are also lucky to be away from the Pan American highway so there's lots of availability wherever we go.
and yes we generally exchange a few hundred dollars at the border and exchange the last countries currency. When we run low we go to ATM's.
