Wouah damn!!! Mama Mystique is a beautiful girl she's gots swag and her flow on that underground beat is Real - Real Hip Hop - love that song Golden Era
From the Chi and moved to ATL in the 90's and needed my hip hop fix come to found out ATL had a college radio station 93.3 FM RFG and they'd play nothing but underground hip hop like this on Friday and Sunday from like 9pm to 12am. From 94 to like 97 I must've burned over 100 tapes just dubbing shit like this. Some songs I never thought I'd hear again they have just been buzzing around in my head for the past 20+ years. I always wonder what underground artists like this are doing today?
@scott I directed the music video! I was a big hip hop head and loved 'Strong Island' by JVC Force. I was so happy to meet and work with Curt Cazal on the shoot. Thanks for commissioning the video, it was a big deal for me at the time! I just found the original cut of the video with the slo-mo Wu Tang Tai Chi double broadsword form before 'The Box' re-edited it because they reckoned it "glorified violence" (yawn!). Hopefully get the original version transferred and uploaded at some point! 🙏
@@mrstyles6597 who is the brotha doing the martial arts in the video & what style is it? Is he performing Kung Fu? I like incorporating martial arts w/ hip hop! Afu-Ra used to practice martial Arts all the time and I REALLY miss that in Hip Hop. And of course we know Wu Tang does this too.
@@joshedward2330 His name is Tony Felix. Really great guy who I used to train with at the time. Tony taught Wu Tang Tai Chi and various forms of Chinese martial arts.
I just discovered this through BIG DADDY KANE'S instagram account, and boy this video and this track together is boming good and how comes female rappers don't rap like this these days ???
She killed it
