    Thank you very much for demonstrating this. I wanted to edit a hostfile of a software i have downloaded and I didn't know how to do that. Thanks. you have a new subscriber to your channel. :-) By the way do we have to add that symbol (#) on the first line?

      You're very welcome! Adding "#" symbol before a line is for your own personal comments so you know what edits you have made to your hosts file. I hope this helps!

    when i press save it turns into a text file onto my desktop and the original copy hasnt saved?? any ideas?? thanks

      ​@@ezelbridges5928when you go to save as, there is an option at the bottom for file types. Click and select all file types

      Run NotePad as Administrator

      Make sure it's not on read only, click right go all the way down to properties and check it.
