I gasped in horror when Percy nearly died saving Vax from Umbrasyl's acid attack. Good thing Pike managed to heal him. That was one nasty hit of acid he took.
Percy succeeded his Dex check against Umbrasyl(I think) He just took half of a SHIT TON of damage AND acid. Just a slight gnitpick. If he failed the check he woulda been insta killed. But great vid! I love these analysis and parallels people have been making!
I totally agree and was going to put it but him pushing Vax out of the way suggested that Vax failed and he covered for him. So I didn't want to fill the scene with too much text and confuse everyone lol. Thank you for the insightful comment your one hundred percent correct Percy succeeded.
@@sadknight2826 np! Thanks for the videos too! I figured I’d share my thoughts and see if others agreed 😊 It’s fun to think about anyway! Nothing is definitive it could of course be seen in multiple ways
Wow that's very interesting I overlooked that.I placed it under Nat 1 for the fumble table because there was a chance of breaking your weapon in there but you brought up and great point. Thank you both for sharing a really fun bit of information.
There was also King Uriel's save in the breath weapon. I feel like he succeeded his because the guard died faster than him, but Uriel still succumbed because he didn't have enough hp to outlast an ancient dragon's breath weapon.
Very good point. I left the king out of the scene just in case it would be considered a spoiler by some on his fate. Thank you for the comment you brought up a great point and I really appreciate it.
Interesting point it could be both actually which is pretty cool. Heartbreaker Groon failed the Con Save from Craven Edges ability Devour the Weak but at the same time Grog could have failed the Wisdom Save to the sanctuary effect. I figured Grogs reaction was due to it being the first time he got the boost but from the sword but it could have also been disorientation from not being able to choose a new target and losing the attack. Nice potential detail thank you for the cool suggestion I really appreciate it.
just a bit of a nitpick, i know that everyone says that the coffin death trap should have been a dex save. but to me that feels more like a con save should have been appropriate as how the hell do you dodge out of the way of a death energy wave..
the spell at the end would not be legendary resistance because legendary resistance would have been used when the effect was first applied. What is more likely is that they failed their initial save but succeeded on their second save.
imho 4:50 looks more like a failed strength save 5:25 contested grapple? and, well, any of the saves against dragon breath might as well have been successes - half damage on those would still wipe out civilians (:
Some of them are referring to the abilities shown in the other video so they may not make since without context. Sorry if that was confusing but thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment it's very appreciated.

And right after he shoot himself in the hand, DAMM!!!

I confess, I have had to resist the urge to sing "SCANLAN'S HAND!" into work-related Zoom meetings.
Nat 1: fumble Chart was ironically a 19
Yeah that was actually the famous moment when Matt said a 19 misses and travis was baffled because he was ready to roll damage

@@sadknight2826 you're welcome. I just saw it on an Easter egg video and thought it was the funniest thing
"19 misses"
Vox Machina literally got “Thoughts and prayers”

THEY FOUGHT ANCIENT DRAGONS!?
I. GOT. A. BEARD!
That's suddenly a big number of failed Persuasion checks
grog is now a brother to the god of war.
8:26 I mean, it's not technially a Nat one but that doesn't really change anything. Still one of my favourite on stream moments.
That was 19 but misses xd
Yes! Grog beard successful!
The save at 7:56 could actually be wisdom because of the Sanctuary effect from the Way of the Open Hand.

UM ACTUALLY the last clip wasn't a fumble. Grog famously rolled a 19 on that attack, which failed to beat the dragon's AC 🤓
Jk of course. Great stuff
Oh no, I've never heard of a hisotry check. Lol great vid thanks keep it up
When I was watching these episodes I thought to myself “I can’t wait for sadknight to go over this”
Ahh thank you

Good point on both accounts. With the control water whirlpool I saw the athletic check part and missed the Strength Save part thanks for the heads up.
pretty sure vex and kash was a successful persuasion check, seeing as he was ready to try to rob them blind beforehand.
Omg season 2 is out?!
First 3 episodes, 3 more every Friday.

the last scene was "19 misses"
Some of those don't seem right
