It's a great example of truly expert songwriting. Such a big part of the song's beauty comes from how clumsy the speaker is. He's hesitant and shy, not sure how to say what he's trying to say. He keeps starting sentences and then not finishing them. You can feel how scared he is to say the wrong thing, and that is what makes his emotion shine through, far more than if he was reciting polished, perfect phrases. It's the best evocation of that moment of confessing love that I've ever heard.
That’s always been my favorite part about the song. It’s always easy to put myself in the lines of the first time you put your feelings into words with someone you love.
Elton received the Kennedy Center honor. Heather Headley sang "Your Song". It is a wonderfully done and Elton was there. I like to see the effect this song has had on so many
I usually tear up on this song at the beautiful lyrics. I loved your face when he sang “my gift is my song and this one’s for you”. Really shows how beautiful music can touch the soul
Elton is my favorite artist! I first saw him in concert in 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia, I was only 12 I went with my big brother, my brother was killed in Vietnam a year later! I always thing of him when I hear this song because it was his favorite! God Bless!
I love your reaction. I love Elton John (my dad let me go to his concert with a family friend when I was like 4. Saw him again later) but he is just my favorite. Crocodile Tock always held a special place in heart though. Loved dancing to it.
this was the first dance at our wedding 21 years ago, and still is my favorite Elton song, though Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me is a close second. Elton has 50 years of songs to choose from, lol. so there is no shortage of choices.
What a wonderful reaction from you. dear Onyin ! And now, PLEEEEEEEEZE come back to Aurora, believe me, you have SO much more to discover... please react to "Through the eyes of a child (Live at Nidarosdomen", you'll be mesmerized, like the first time you listened to Aurora. Best wishes : Gerry
Time after time. If you have a great melody with great lyrics and sing to the ladies you will have a classic hit that will last forever. And probably be in the hall of fame.
Thank you for such a perfect and genuine reaction, Onyin Pearl! Time spent on your channel is always a privilege that I really enjoy!! It looked like you really felt this one, and thank you for letting that shine through in your reaction! For more greatness from Elton please look for Levon, Tiny Dancer, Candle In The Wind, Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters and finally Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding! Thank you for bringing the FIRE!!! Wishing you all the best on your channel, today and always!! And since you mentioned you love love please add "The Power Of Love" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood and "More Than Words" by Extreme to your long list of songs to get to! Peace!!
One thing is people don't realize that Top of the Pops did not have a hard requirement to mime the vocals, it's just that in the early years all the groups/acts did for some reason. By 1971 somebody like Elton John shows up and there is no way he'd mime.
Hi Pearl 🤓 The lyrics are a little challenging, but I'd like to offer Elton performing "Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters". Everyone has different tastes, but in my heart, I think this was his crown jewel! ❣️🌹👼

I developed an acoustic 12 string guitar accompaniment to Elton's gorgeous piano. I wish I could post it and send it your way. It might make you smile. 👼🌹
If you seriously like this song by Sir Elton John, then you need to check out the song called "Candle In The Wind" he also made another version of the song when the Royal Princess of Wales Diana died in 1997

You know sometimes we have these emotions we can't express them just right. Then Elton John does it perfectly ❤
Beautiful and wonderful song 🎵
I was ten years old when this first came out. I remember I cried, it was so beautiful.
Year I was born for me
I am 64 and still crying, Great track.
Rocket Man and Tiny Dancer are two more of his classics
❤ ... "Your Song" is also part of the soundtrack of "Moulin Rouge" by Baz Luhrmann (2001)... in the movie the song was performed by Ewan McGregor...

No autotune or special effects.
Just the singer and the instruments. True natural talent.
Rayys man, love is a beautiful thing xx
This workd is beautiful 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can’t believe this is the first time hearing this! Baffles me. His voice is so much richer now. He’s a legend in the UK 🏴

My favorite song. I was so happy that it was for me, and for my first girlfriend. You can tell everybody that it's for you.
Love early 70's Elton albums, glad you enjoyed 💕made me tear up which i wasn't expecting

💕my son sang this song to me as we danced for the mother son dance at his wedding reception 💕
This is perhaps one of the best love songs ever!

Thank you so much ♥️
You are totally awesome. You give your honest opinion be it good or plain uply
Thank you 💜
Love this! ❤
Your reactions are great 😊🙏💜
Thank you 🙏
This was my last dance at my wedding.
Also I love your top.
"Rocket Man" please,
I almost used this song for our dance after our wedding. Check out the one we did use, Moondance by Van Morrison. Loved both songs since the 70s.
I developed an acoustic 12 string guitar accompaniment to Elton's gorgeous piano. I wish I could post it and send it your way. It might make you smile. 👼🌹
Hi Ms.O., I personally think this is Mr. Elton's best song along with "Candle In The Wind".. ♠W.G.
How about Elton John "Little Jeannie" live from Madison Square Garden.
If you seriously like this song by Sir Elton John, then you need to check out the song called "Candle In The Wind" he also made another version of the song when the Royal Princess of Wales Diana died in 1997
Please react to "Longer", by Dan Fogelberg. "Longer" was a big wedding song back when it came out. This song reminded me of it. Thanks!
If you loved this so much, try another (lesser known) song from the same album, 'The Greatest Discovery'. No dry eyes there.
FIRST!
💜💜
