      Yewww! Brother #2 will be stoked to hear that. Keep an eye out for others when you’re in the water, the Pod Mod crew has a strong following. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

    Pod Mod is the fastest board I own. We have a break that's big but mushy and speed is key to ripping it. I love running quads in mine but recently just discovered the magic of keels. I never...EVER thought I'd be into a keels but if the wave is small the keels make it feel like i'm riding a bigger/faster wave and I was surprised at how loose it is when I need it to be and how much propulsion and release. Just using the cheap Surf Squared keels from amazon... LOL. Anyway thanks for the review. There is definitely something special about this board. It's interesting that Noel just released a review on best all around alternative fish boards and pod mod was the first honorable mention. Aloha

      Yewwww! +1 for the Pod Mod movement. We haven’t tried keels - hot dang, that sounds delicious 🤤 will give it a shot and get back to you. Any recommendation or stick with the Amazon pair? Thanks Daniel 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

    I ride the pod mod exclusively...but I'm only an intermediate surfer (no airs) and my local spot is usually pretty mushy. Love it.

      Yeeeew! Yeah Tarasded. Pod Mod has a cult following over here, and for good reason. Our local is infamous for mushy closeouts…which is why Pod Mod is Stephen’s go-to! Happy to hear your experience is similar!

    Thanks for the vid👍. Late 70’s I went from a single to a twin shaped by Michael cundith, then with sky surfboards Byron bay. What a weapon, flew!!!!!! 81’ our Simon Anderson made the thruster, won huge bells on it and surfboard design/fins keep getting better! There certainly are some epic twins being made and their just so fun to ride✌️❤️

    I don't have the greatest waves here in RI so this seems like the board for me. I'm 16, beginner/intermediate 5'11", and 135 pounds. what type of dimensions do yall think I should go for?

    • @greenroomsurfreviews
      @greenroomsurfreviews  Год назад

      Hey Paxton! 5’11 x 135 puts you in a unique board dim range. A couple things to consider, volume is definitely your friend here, we’d recommend sticking around the 27-29L range. Second, a lot depends on skillset and wave type/quality - but giving a recommendation with all the information is easy. We prefer the hard road less traveled. So have a look at a stock Pod Mod in the 5’4 - 5’6 range. Another board to consider, the G-Skate can provide a similar experience (we’re currently testing!) AND you tap in to some of the #positivevibewarrior energy. Looks like a 5’6 might fit the bill! Let us know what you end up with and if you ever get out to CA! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

      @@greenroomsurfreviews Thanks for the recommendations yall. If it helps we usually get 2-3 feet around here on normal days and probably 4-5 on decent-ish swell. I am also on a 7'0" epoxy right now with 50 L so should I be nervous for the jump to a smaller board like that.

    • @greenroomsurfreviews
      @greenroomsurfreviews  Год назад +1

      Annnnnnd that’s why recommending a board with minimal info doesn’t always pan out 😂 Yeah that is quite the jump! Here’s our take: having the Pod Mod or G-Skate is a great eventual goal. In the meantime, swoop up a 2nd hand board (CL, Offerup, borrow from a friend) to split the difference. Depending on how much you surf and progress, you probably won’t be on this board long. If you have the 💰 you could go with something like an Average Joe and stick between 33-38L. Do you have any footage online we can check out? If not, we may or may not have have just reviewed a surf camera that could help out…let us know!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

      @@greenroomsurfreviews Unfortunately I have no footage, wish I did though haha. Thanks for the help from you guys. I'll probably run with a second hand board around 30-40 L or so. Thanks for the help from you guys. Sorry for the lack of information lol

    hey mate is the podmod a good board for a person transfering from a soft board?

    • @greenroomsurfreviews
      @greenroomsurfreviews  Год назад

      Hey MTB Zachary! Middle brother here. Although I didn’t use it that way, it would totally be a great transition board. It gives more paddle power while still being able to turn it and put it on rail (unlike a soft top). It will also give you a taste for a shorter craft. Let us know if you want help with sizing and volume.

      @@greenroomsurfreviewsI’m 5’6 160lbs. Early intermediate. Iv been surfing a 6’6 foamie. I’m able to bottom turn and catch 2/3 waves I paddle for. What would you recommend size pod mod I get?

    • @greenroomsurfreviews
      @greenroomsurfreviews  2 месяца назад

      @tannerstefanick540 hey! If you went for a pod mod that was 5’8”, 5’10”, 6’0 that would put you in the 33-39 volume range which would be a good place to start. The smaller you go, the more difficult it will be to catch waves but the flip side is once you reach the ability to catch any wave, the more maneuverable the board will be. Trying to decide on a size with that in mind will help you choose the right one. Eventually, you will progress out of this board into a smaller size since this is designed to be ridden smaller than your height. Let us know what you decide on!!!

    Pod Mod Vs FireWire Mashup. Any similarities?

      @greenroomsurfreviews  7 месяцев назад

      Heyo! I have spent considerable time riding the pod mod and only held the mashup under my arm once. Albeit a brief encounter, they felt very similar. The boards are very closely related both in design, use case, and ideal conditions. I wonder if my brothers’ prejudices are as strong for this board as the pod mod?! Needless to say, I would love to try it out!

      Hey aldo! Goooooood question. They’re both awesome and either one is a great choice. We think it depends on wave type, surfing skillset, yadda yadda. That said, we took an internal vote. 1 for RW, 1 for PM, and 1 abstained. However, all 3 agreed on swooping up the board with the best deal on Craigslist! Can’t go wrong! Happy hunting and see you in the water! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
