I grew up on south padre island and that's where I learned how to swim as a child in the ocean, by the time I grew up and went to marine Corps bootcamp at mcrd, swimming in a pool was a piece of 🍰. 😅

Not a SEAL, but I am a Vermonter that is an avid hiker and has also spent a lot of time in Maine and Hampton Beach, as well as living In Ocean Beach, San Diego for a while, and yeah - spending time outside, around water, it's highly recommended.
Im going for trial in the Norwegian «Marines» July next year. After reading Jockos book, as well as Goggins, I knew i had to try. Because if i can pull of that, I’ll be able to handle anything.

Chickens,hogs,cattle, horses,milk cows and the last four would forget what barbed wire was when a storm hit😂. No heaters on the horses or cars and you weren't finding one until all the animals were rounded up. We became a soft nation but,most of the world did.
I was out the other day surfing off the beach on north island (Coronado) right down the way from where BUDS is. Water was 59 degrees. No wetsuit. Water was very cold that day. Started shivering, felt numb for a while. I thought while I was surfing, Man, this water is why 90 percent of seal recruits quit. It’s frigid. It’s tough on you. But after a while my body warmed and I got out and felt great. Lost my mind for a bit. That’s what I love about it. Depart to arrive.
The reason surf towns are chill because they are considered tourism destinations and everyone is in a good mood. The other reason is the nature of jobs occupied by the locals are less miserable and stressful. It got nothing to go with the body of water.
