In all honesty I don't want my husband's reason for not cheating on me to be because he's afraid to lose me, I want it to be because he's genuinely only interested in me. So that thought of cheating on me and that fear of the consequences just doesn't happen in the first place. Monogamy for me isn't a choice, I genuinely only want him so I'd appreciate the same in return. Temptations only exist for people who don't love their significant other or are polyamorous at heart (which means they love in a different way that can be divided romantically and/or sexually and honestly I'm cool with that and with people who admit that is their nature. That is love, it's just processed differently for polyamorous people than for monogamous people. For me the only love that can be divided like that is towards family and friends I don’t naturally divide romantic interest or sexual intrest. Hence, saying I am a monogamous person). I wish society didn't make monogamy out to be a choice, that you have to fight for and work on. You shouldn't be hurting your significant other the way Ned hurt Ariel, you shouldn't be making promises to fit into a box that you just don't fit into. And I'm sure he decided to be a monogamous family man just because he grew up in a family like that and being taught that its the only right way. You should be comfortable in your relationship and feel safe and free to be yourself, if you want to love many people you should and you should do that with someone who is absolutely comfortable and understanding about it, not someone who has to work really hard at being okay with it but someone who genuinely is content with how you love them and others. Otherwise you just end up deeply hurting others which can not be forgiven or you end up trapped and teaching your children if you have them that being trapped is simply what monogamy is, instead of teaching them that relationships are different depending on how people process their feelings for others and it's okay to ask for a relationship that matches your interest towards others, instead of settling into one that doesn't work for you. Sorry about this, I'm just so annoyed by all these "Family men", people act like there is only one way to be a good man, good husband, good father. Then these guys who are lying to the people they're supposed to be completely transparent with (possibly themsleves too) and destroying people just because they won't admit or say what they want.
