We got a good GM in Douglas, a good coaching system with Saleh and LaFleur, and a talented QB in Wilson. This isn't the jets of old
Yes he will , he’s an Aaron Rodgers type talent and the Jets have a real head coach this time. It will take a few years but Zach Wilson will make the Jets a contender.

Here’s an example of why Jones is not the best, Alex Smith was more ready than Aaron Rodgers was that’s why he went ahead.
Alex Smith is serviceable which is Mac Jones. Aaron Rodgers hall of fame talent, that’s the potential of Wilson, Fields, Lance. Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold were both considered more ready than Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.

Klatt. Great as usual but it’s Colin that makes this segment work by shelving his ego for the sake of the show and letting Klatt call him out when necessary and not every host is willing to be wrong and have guests that may actually know more than they do.
Colin is probably the number 1 radio show simply because hes so good with people, from nick wright to joy to all these analysts, he has alot of connections and he makes it fun to root against his takes while also making some really good ones

I really don’t get the hype around Wilson. He has A LOT of bad tape, especially if you go back to 2019 against teams like Utah and Washington. He’s gonna be a gigantic bust if he goes to the Jets.

Getting Mac Jones, solely because he might be able to start this season, smacks of desperation. No rookie QB has won or even started a Superbowl, so the idea that grabbing the fifth best QB off the boards will somehow earn the 49ers a trip to the SB is ridiculous. Get a guy with a high upside and have him sit and learn the offense behind Garoppolo for a season.

Klatt has watched more college football in one season than I'll probably see in my life, but it looked to me as if Mac Jones' arm was a bit stronger than Burrows'.
Best deep ball accuracy and his completion percentage and QBR was way above burrows and against an all conference schedule

Mac Jones has amazing stats but looks like a stiff grandpa doing it. His awkward mobility reminds me of Jimmy G.
He is a bust waiting to happen. He has an average NFL arm, no legs, is pretty accurate, but has not had to move in the pocket or throw to inept receivers. Additionally, he is a one year wonder. If you are going to take a flyer on a QB, you don't take one on a guy who hasn't had to deal with adversity on the field and is a subpar NFL athlete.

He was not on anyone else's big board as a top flight QB, thus the 49ers were betting against themselves. They wasted important draft capital to potentially pick a guy that was going to fall to them. It was an odd choice at best.

Such a horrible take about Zach Wilson. This Jets team is 10x better than what Darnold had and it isn’t even close. They now have a good Head Coach, a good GM, young stars like Bekton and Quinnen Williams, good WRs in Corey Davis and Breshad Perriman (maybe Denzel Mims) still have CJ Mosley and Marcus Maye AND have a ridiculous amount of draft picks in the next 3 years. To think Zach Wilson will bust because of the Darnold situation is insane. This is not even close to the same team Darnold had.

This is a reminder to this author that the NFL controls the broadcast rights to the Canadian Football League so if you want to abandon the virulent racism inherent in these drafts and on teams like the New Orleans Saints, Lions, Jets, Panthers, Jags, etc., you're stuck with this trash product. Klatt's right. It's hubris. Klatt, being a former QB is like most of the fairly recently retired athletes who aren't buying this projected foolishness at the 3rd spot. Being the most accomplished organization of the top 3, they *HAVE* to deploy this gamesmanship because everyone knows they know what they're doing---and if they really put the person they wanted out there, then, why wouldn't one of those two organizations try and draft who the Niners have their eyes on---since they have a better history of what they're doing, relative to those other two franchises. Plus, everyone knows which QB performed best on the biggest stage and put a single game on for the ages. That's not subject to debate.

Maybe Wilson had a better completion % his Junior year had something to do with him being healthy. Had 2 injuries to deal with as a Sophomore. As for competition, he beat both Tennessee and Colin’s USC Trojans as a Sophomore. But Colin already knew that.
If mac jones was black this guy would be raving his accuracy. Hes had such high praise shannon sharpe said hes the 2nd best qb in the draft cause hes accurate and knows where to go with the football. So many players, scouts, offensive coordinators etc have said mac jones is on another level and way ahead of the curve over fields and lance. Zach wilson too they are knocking him now. Nfl the qbs winning super bowls are pocket qbs. Mahomes won a super bowl after dislocating his knee cause he had to stay in the pocket more. The guy whos best in the pocket is going to be the best qb. I don't see many black qbs winning super bowls. Athleticism is overrated at qb position. Athletic qbs aren't durable period. They can get away with it in college but now dline and linebackers run 4.5 40s. they are way to fast so qb running around just end up hurt and also can get other players on the team hurt with all those broken plays. Who won super bowl? A slow not strong armed tom brady. And all these black qbs who run around by end of the year have all kinds of injuries and always come up short. They take to much of a beating. Cowherd loved Darnold since he came out of college and thought he was going to be great. Darnold was the worst rated QB the past 3 years give or take. Deshaun Watson drafted the same year as Darnold, played with a team even worse than the Jets, brutal coaching staff, lousy GM and lousy O-line. Deshaun Watson was the top QB statistically last year. Darnold has shown nothing in 3 years even with all of the adversity and lack of support he faced. Cowherd is just sour.
No offense, but Chris Simms knows a whole lot more than you do about QBs. He was the only one to say Herbert was way better than Tua. And if he says Mac Jones is better than Fields or Lance, I believe him more than you guys
Mac Jones fits Kyle Shanahans system and actually reminds me a lot of Matt Ryan. While he may not be the prospect that Fields or Lance is he is a safer pick especially for a team that is in playoff contention. Fields is coming from a school not known to develop NFL Qb’s and Lance hasn’t really played that much. Niners need a Qb to step in and play now and outside of Lawrence Mac Jones is the most NFL ready Qb.
You dont move up to number 3 for Mac Jones, Fields is the better player now and Lance has the best potential. Why would they draft another Jimmy Garrapolo type player, when they have that already

Darnold has never had an OC or QB coach in his college or pro career that's worth anything. We'll get to see Darnold explode the next two years, and I hope Brady sticks around but he probably gets Buccaneers job next year as I think Tom and Arians move on!/retire next year.

Justin Fields reminds me of the JJ Watt draft. Watt was seen as a top 3 pick in his draft because he had the most tackles for losses in college but Watt ends up sliding to #11 during the scouting evaluation process.
