You can get it for free on contract with id mobile right now but whether you buy it yourself or not it's only got 2 years of software support on it so don't bother paying money for it because you'll end up just upgrading to the next version of this. You'll have to keep buying cases too so they stay in good enough condition so selling them after so they can get repurposed will fund your cases.
@@GFINHK I'm considering keeping it as a good mp3 player if the next model doesn't have dolby atmos which is what they call lossless audio in old style mp3 players so radio quality sound. Also for the big screen and the good speaker. If the next model has it i'll sell it and get the next one but i'll probably keep the last model that still has it because eventually it'll change. I'd say this phone is good for music lovers.
I wish i had the option of getting the peach one but the green one does just fine too, sadly i know i'll have to move onto the next updated model in 2 years time when my contract ends and the updates stop. I hope they keep the lift up wake option in these phones for a while because i really like that but the adaptive brightness they can lose unless they can improve it where it doesn't turn the screen brightness all way down when you turn the light off lol 35% would be good at least. We don't get the protective case anymore though if you do not here in the UK market but getting a nice gel bumper one from ebay is better anyway apart from melting in hot weather lol never making that mistake again. The charger you need the one for this phone because batteries in phones right now need it and to be charged in a wall socket to be charged faster either in 1 hour with a 24 watt charger or 2 hours with a 15 watt charger. So far it's a pretty good budget phone but it's just what you always have on previous android budget phones. This phone is like a mix between an iphone and an android with customizable features like on samsung phones you can drag around icons, change the size of the font and the layout, icon size and shape, change the colours of the interface, and it has dark mode too. It's better than previous budget phones and the size is bang for your buck plus the cases are cheap for it too on ebay. If you want to take better photos though this phone isn't for you because the camera is pretty good but won't take hd photos and it's a bit blurry being 16 megapixels, and the flash isn't the best. I'd say the AI does make the photos better quality but being early for AI integration i'm sure it'll get even better in future. You're better going for a samsung galaxy a15 with 4g volte and a 50 megapixel triple camera. A tip for this phone is because the flash is under the camera you may want to stand back more and tilt the phone towards you, use the assistive grid, and when pressing the screen to focus the photo using ae/af you can lock it by holding it for 2 seconds and it has a tiny hidden isobar next to the focus circle you can use to bring in more light which i recommend you regularly use. For macro shots nah definitely not because it just takes flat photos except the blur effect in portrait mode but it can take a zoomed in photo of an object in a well lit room good enough. The moto g04 is good for someone who isn't bothered about the apps and just want to use their phone as an mp3 player too. It has decent quality sound and you can insert an sd card to have up to 1 terabyte of space. I don't get why apps are such a fad anyway they don't work lol and they're flooded with ads, the average person just doesn't need access to tonnes of apps but this phone will use all the android supported apps that other android phones can use and it can scan qr codes. So a simple phone like this will do what you need it to do and most people only text and call anyway. I seriously wouldn't pay more monthly for any phones right now either because they're all exactly the same, and if you want a better camera you won't get it because it's took a hit in quality because they've clearly put all the upgrades into the quicker and more power tech and Artificial Intelligence. The camera in all the brands is darker, more blurry and murky, lacks sharpness, the zoom isn't too good producing more noise, and isn't picking up on lines in things too well even in the £24.99 per month samsung galaxy s24, even if they say it's 50 megapixels noop the photos don't even look high definition.
I got mine for free from 3 UK, no clear case (bought a two piece case from Amazon) it came with android 14, but it has a icon shape bug(can't change the shape of icons) and the security patch is march 2024. just a pity its the version without NFC but it has a lot of settings that a lineage ROM has .
In its settings if you go to ram boost it can add another more 4 gb ram. So it has 8 gb ram. I did that on mine fromnthe getgo.

My phone didn't come with any USB Charger and it said follow the prompts to get started ...but then asked for a pass word...I have no pass word ..I didn't know I needed a pass word?
At a guess (best I can do!)... the carrier models of the G04 come with a charger, but retail models don't, so you'd need to budget for that. For the password, unless you've got it second-hand, what it's probably referring to is setting up or logging into a Google account -- if you don't have a Google account you should be able to create one at that point, and while it's not strictly mandated, what you can do with a smartphone without a Google account is pretty limited. If it's asking for some other kind of lock or password, then I'd take it back to where you got it from.

You should have got one for your country and then what you do is snap up the top prong because it's a compact design, then you're supposed to only charge your phone directly from a plug socket because phone batteries are getting higher voltage now. It'll take 2 hours of charging and then you'll get about 2 days of charge from it so pretty good. It shouldn't have asked for a password though so clearly they gave you a faulty phone.

I currently have the oppo a52. I paid $300 aud, 4 years ago for it. But its time for an upgrade as the oppo is lagging and heating up quickly. Is the moto g04 similar to the oppo a52? I was thinking about getting the motorola g54. Just to give you an idea i just need a phone that's not laggy, doesnt heat up, decent amount of gb, decent camera (i only use my mobile to take pictures), i can use important apps like email apps, insurance apps, banking apps, adobe, RUclips and a few others, works fast when both internet from mobile data and modem is connected and battery life is long and charges quick. Thats it. And also what stores do you recommend to by phones and even other electronics from ,both online and in-person? Thanks a lot!
Been a while since I reviewed the Oppo A52, but looking over my performance notes -- they'd be very close in performance terms overall, though the G04 did do a fair bit better in battery life terms than the A52 did in my tests. The issue you'll face in the budget space is (predictably) that you can have some of what you want -- but not all of it, because that's just the way budget phones are. The G54 is a better phone if your budget can run to it, mind, and I'm in the tail end of testing out and writing up the G34 as well, so that might be worth pursuing (though both are more pricey than the G04).

Looking over my notes, the A52's GPU performance is very slightly better than the G04, but not to a level where you'd really see it impacting performance, but the G04's battery test performance was markedly better for the same test. Changes in benchmarking mean I can't do a like-for-like on CPU performance, unfortunately. G54 is a decent buy for the money, and I'm just finishing up my G34 review (sits nicely between the two in price terms) -- that may be a better option as it's got more promised security updates (important if you're talking about functions like banking and other secure apps) while also being 5G ready (which may not matter to you one way or the other, but certainly a nice to have kind of feature). Review of that is coming soon -- should be ready within the next few days in fact.

I think the reviewer needs to compartmentalize this type of phone within its class. Yes, we know it's not going to perform as well as something 3 to 4 times it's cost. Drop the comparisons. How about judging it on the use cases for people who are purchasing a 200 dollar phone? I heard nothing about connectivity testing, how does it perform in speed tests via wifi/cellular connections? How does it compare in signal strength? How long does it take to connect via a phone call? You're better than this.

I swapped the different icon options and got it to work by using a different shape name for the one I wanted!
