I'm now being sent one of these for free from my mobile service provider, Three, as part of their bid to keep eligible customers equipped with the 3G to 4G switchover!
Yup why i just got this phone through contract with id mobile who use three for their connection and 3G is toast now it's 4G VoLTE now, 5G isn't there yet and when it is i doubt it's going to last long because there's already 6G that will be around in the 2030s and will start controlling thing using AI. I'd say 4G VoLTE has at least 7 years left because they've only just really started supporting it, so we won't have our new phones for as long but long enough i guess until they switch over to 6G. Have you noticed internet speeds are a bit faster and smoother all of a sudden too? it feels nice the internet on my laptop playing online games and videos feels more smoothed out less jaggy somehow, we've seen nothing yet though. Like all phones now though they only get 2 years of updates because technology is advancing so quickly now, so after that you'll have to sell it and get an updated or a different model, no point in paying a full £90 for a phone anymore just go with the contract upgrades.
@@Harteo3917 I'm getting the phone sent to me and I'm only on a SIM-only contract! No I haven't noticed the internet, as far as mobile data goes on my phone, becoming faster or smoother. To be honest my signal with Three is pretty crap, and it's ironic that they're forcing 4G on to us when I can't even get it where I live. Half the time I can't even get a mobile data connection. And as for internet speed on my computer, it wouldn't make a difference as I use Wi-Fi via fibre broadband provided by BT.
@Epicmemez.. Just sell it you'll probably get £80 for it because it's a new phone, then that can go towards a few months of contract and a new case if you want to get a new phone on contract.
Totally the interface looks like an iphone but mixed with samsung features, i just hope they create an updated model in 2 years because i would like to stay with these phone models for a while, the adaptive features are pretty neat.
Yeah it's a decent phone i've quickly warmed up to it, mobile phones aren't changing much though so most likely the next model will almost be the same. It's a great phone to use as an mp3 player so i'm thinking if the next model doesn't have dolby atmos i'm keeping the G04 to use it for music. While my old style mp3 player with lossless sound has the same quality audio the speaker on the Moto G04 is pretty good and displays the audio image and i edit the metadata on my music to also include display covers.
Yeah the camera's not half bad you can probably take better pictures using some sort of app, However sorry to tell you but motorola phones are only getting 2 years of updates now, 2 versions and 2 years of security updates because lenovo who own the motorola company are all about the sales. Other companies are like that now too, so you shouldn't have paid money for it and just got it as an upgrade on a contract. So in 2 years you'll have to sell it and upgrade to an updated one of this phone, and you need to keep your phone updated now because 4G VoLTE uses a broadband connection for making calls and sendings texts through the landline towers. It's all going into using internet connections to connect and control things soon it will be full internet connections used. 3G is now obsolete so it's not going to switch your calls and texts to 3G it will function only on 4G VoLTE, and once there's more support for 5G it's going to soon be 4G VolTE and 5G, then next up in the 2030s is going to be 6G. So also because of how fast things are advancing there's a new version of it every year so the days of paying for a phone then being able to use it for 10 years is gone which i'm sad about i love keeping a phone for a while.
@@Harteo3917 You can install custom rooms, like LineageOs, based on advanced android versions. Or if I worry about updates but a Samsung not too expensive. I own a Mate 10 Pro that still today after 7 years is running pretty good. But I heard about some Samsung (a7 2018) already working well. Motorola to me are lowest and basics ones to buy for everyday use.. In the range of 300-500 tney are not on the focus.. Flip ones are very nice instead of.. More than Samsung or Chinese's ones.. To me Huawei is still N. 1
Yes yes! it does everything it's almost the same as an iphone but the same easy slide down menu at the top of most android phones. However take note like on any phone heavier usage will drain your battery a lot faster so you're best having the charger in while watching heavy videos. Be sure to use the charger in a wall outlet it came with.
I just had a look and literally the only 2 differences between the 2 phones I could see is the g04s has a 50mp camera vs the 16mp on the g04 and the g04s has gorilla glass 3 on the display, apart from that everything else is practically the same 🤷♂️
@typicaltechlad how about the G04 and A05? Samsung seems to have more performance but less features than Motorola. Which of them is worth for the money?
Not compared to how much longer batteries used to last, they seem to be using these 5000 mah batteries until they can't no more, although there's already been an AI chip made in china that uses only microwatts of power so hopefully they can make everything use less power in the next couple of years. Otherwise they need a more powerful batteries. It's crazy how budget phones are almost as good as more pricey phones now i think they're hitting a limit trying to sell more expensive phones lol because i can do most things on the Moto G04 including viewing my documents.
Currently getting mut and jeff thought the volume was sound (pun intended) Is there alot of adds bearing in mind its supposed to be near stock android...How about calls and signal strength..thanks .
define gaming for you if you mean genshin impact call of dutty games like that you lose here if you want for free fire some casual games is good this phone has unisoc snapdragon beat easy real gaming on laptop or pc
The G13 is better on paper, better processor, stereo speakers, better array of cameras, I’ve done a review of the Moto g13 on my channel so might be worth checking that out?
My phone didn't come with any USB Charger and it said follow the prompts to get started ...but then asked for a pass word...I have no pass word ..I didn't know I needed a pass word?

If you have this. Go to settings. Ram boost. You can add another 4 gb ram. So it runs at 8 gb ram.
My G04 made in March 2024 came with the January 5 security update OOB.

Hi, can anyone tell if this has a magnetometer for a compass app, read conflicting specs on many sites, the E14 seems to have a magnetometer, thanks.
It's so disappointing that you only get 2 years of security updates and no OS updates... I would've bought it otherwise
Unfortunately tends to be the case with most budget smartphones nowadays
