Grand Vision's Meet the Music Students Perform in San Pedro

On May 2nd, 2024, 22 brave Meet the Music students performed at downtown San Pedro’s First Thursday ArtWalk. Led by Teaching Artists Lupe Montiel, Andrea Dowdell and Nicholas Miller, students performed recorder and percussion selections alongside their peers from several schools.
Grand Vision's Meet the Music (MTM) program provides high-quality music education to thousands of students in Los Angeles each year.
About Recorders in Schools
A year-long program designed for fifth graders. Grand Vision teaching artists lead students in 24 sequential weekly classes in recorder playing technique, reading music notation, and ensemble performance, culminating in a student performance.
Teachers learn tools to connect Meet the Music curriculum to history, culture and mathematics while reinforcing music learning.
