I'm still a bit new & kept on hearing people talking about selling prints (I just gave them all the pics via a link from the start). It was SO hard to find info about this (because they all explain like its obvious & like you already know that process), but then I found your video & it was SUPER helpful and I feel relieved that I can just keep on doing it this way. lol
This video was so worth watching because I was confused on what to do, but now I know . Thank you Hope!
YAY! I'm so glad it was helpful! Thank you for tuning in!
I run my business by what I always wanted as a customer so I've included the full gallery of digitals from day 1! I do upsell galleries for mini sessions and I definitely encourage my clients to purchase physical products (bc that's something I'm super passionate about) but I want them to have their photos and also not feel pressure to buy from me! I want them to be able to print their photos whever they want!
I agree. What size digitals do you give them?
@@migflowers I give them full resolution. The only exception is specialty sessions (i.e. not full sessions) where they get limited downloads and it's only for the client, no one else.
Hope, most photographers that sell prints and products give a social media size/smaller digital file (not high resolution) for every product ordered. Many of us will sell the high resolution files after they've purchased a "collection" as an add on, so that business structure is more of a hybrid. I find that people do not value the digital files so I've switched back to selling products, it felt like with selling digital files it was a race to the bottom regarding prices. I can't believe the amount of high resolution files photographers are selling for next to nothing. Sounds like a good recipe for photographer burnout.
It is definitely important to find what works best for you and your market - it sounds like this structure is working for you which is awesome!
Always GREAT information!!
What would you recommend for someone who will start photography business from scratch ( some portfolio from fam, friends) do u recommend Digital files or IPS? I’m too confused which one is better, I’m thinking to create a package that includes digital files and album or wall prints as an option they can choose Online but not in person sale, Ur advice will help me a lot.
I see so many videos talking about prints vs digital but nun of them talk about how to offer and price print products
Hope has shown that she does a 400% markup on prints and products in another video and another photographer Heather McKay's youtube channel goes into great depth about pricing prints and wall art, she created a playlist for photographers about this and there are about dozen videos about pricing.

What size digitals do you include? Full res? Social sized?
I do full res!
You should consider pic-time
Im a female photographer lives in United Arab Emirates
i deliver to my client digital all JPG photos without editing via we transfer link and then they Pick 20 so i can edit them but most of them they are complaining that they paying between 68$ to 108$ on 1 hour session without giving them printed albums or photos bcz they feel its so much expensive to not have any extra things
i dont know what to do and how to do it the album thing should i have to design the album myself?
The thing is I'm muslim and most of my clients are muslim also so i want extra privacy sometimes if the client want to shoot without her Hijab so the one who work or print the photos should me a female because Mens who are not related by blood can't see woman body or hair so its kind of complicated to me
She talks fast.
Yes I do!
