Suarez over Agüero all day every day. The man was a maverick in that Liverpool team. Could do it all.
Bergkamp over Cantona for me, as a footballer. Just magic, not that Cantona wasn't BUT Bergkamp glided through the pitch.

Both devastating finishers in their prime, but I’m going Van Persie. As Rio said, he was the total package. Ruud was a more inside-the-box finisher, but was slightly limited outside the box. Van Persie could score from anywhere, and he was an exceptional dribbler with breathe-taking skills. He also had probably the best technique/form I have ever seen out of any footballer ever. You can compare numbers, but remember that RVP was riddled with injuries throughout his entire career, which hurt his numbers. Also, the year Ruud scored 44 goals, he had a much better “team” around him than Van Persie in 2012 and 2013

They forget CR7 has only 3 goals and 2 assists in major international tournament knockouts (which came in Euros since he has 0 and 0 in WCs). On the other hand, Messi has 10 goals and 18 assists (5 and 6 in WC and the other in Copa America).
They also forget that Messi has been way better in finals stat wise and not stat wise (since he has played way better in clutch games when not scoring opposed to CR7 who always relied on scoring).
Messi has also been better in their games vs each other especially in their big UCL meetings or in important Clasicos.
The only argument for CR7 is his better UCL knockout stats and big goals but Messi also has many of them. And stats don't always paint the whole picture since f.e. CR7 has better UCL final stats but he has not performed great overall since in most finals (2014,2016,2018) he was bad to mediocre at best.

Obviously he won 3 which is incredible but Maradona played against the Milan clubs, played against Real Madrid etc. He came to Europe and shone. Pele never had that chance. If you had seen both, then you'd naturally choose van Nistelrooy. I have had the privilege of witnessing Cantona-Hughes, Cole Yorke, Nistelrooy allowed for a change in United's attacking system from 442 to 451, the guy could play his back to goal, with Scholes, his off the ball was off the charts. Every 1-v-1 situation, if you'd seen him play, I'd wager he was going to score. Everytime, a 1-v-1, you know it's going to go in. And... you seen his solo against Fulham? Sheer class.
Van Persie is an ace too, but, for a ruthless out and out striker... you can't look beyond Ruud. Robin would hang about the channels, but Ruud was always in the box, and he would always score. Best striker I have ever seen, maybe barring Alan Shearer in his prime at Newcastle. Also saw Les Ferdinand, Aspirila, Zola (not a 9) and Vialli at Chelsea, I still think he was the best out and out ever. He was that good.

I felt like Ruud could have been so much more as he showed from time to time against Arsenal creating his own opportunities but he just settled for being that penalty box striker complaining half the time with a huge ego which ultimately got him booted out of the club. RVP was all that and a bag of chips but defo had a back injury when he got to United. We dont have a big enough sample size but RVP’s game edges it for me. Volleys, Freekicks, holdup play, range, the full package.
