I have a teacher at my school (same subject) that does everything Kamoshida does minus making someone commit suicide. This game really did make him seem real to me and honestly, that scares me.

While Kamoshida is not the most threatening, the most devious, or even the most elaborate boss fight. He is the most real and honestly evil villain and he is the only villain that I didn't think "This is only because it's a game, I don't really think it would take an elaborate plot to take him down". No this is a type of real corruption that happens in real life and it can hit really close to home for a lot of people especially high schoolers. (I know it did for me at least)
I think the only problem with Kamoshida is how good they made him being bad. Him being the first villain sets up a bar so high for the other antagonists that it end up being so hard to feel the same way about them. While Madarame, Kaneshiro and the other palace masters have real crimes that are also bad in the real world, none of them touch in that uncomfortable and despicable point that Kamoshida does.

I think that's also why he works so well as the first antagonist in the first antagonist in the game. In games like this where there are multiple antagonists, it's always the first and last ones who need to be the best. Kamoshida is for all intents and purposes, the villain who oppresses people on the smallest scale, limiting it to only a handful of people within the school (a max of thirty people maybe). They counterweight this by making his crimes so despicable that even though his crimes are on a small scale, they feel like our entire world at that moment in time. This highlights the theme of corruption very well, and shows that it can be very damaging even on the smallest of scales. You'll notice that each antagonist's crimes start effecting a larger and larger amount of people, and the more people they effect the more disconnected we are from them and the less we feel when fighting them. That inevitably is what causes the Phantom Thieves to fall, and then when we take on Shido the conflict is personal, just like when we fought Kamoshida. This culminates in the fight against Yaldaboath where it is also personal since he has been tricking us the entire game by pretending to be Igor, all in an attempt to set us up for failure just so we can be oppressed again. I love this about Persona 5, the more and more the characters stray from their original goal, the less personal the feelings we have for the antagonist are. Kamoshida ish what caused the Phantom thieves to exist, it's only fitting that the person we had the most motivation to fight, was the person who screwed us and the people close to us over on a very personal level.
Its even worse when you are a Teacher like me. I hate Kamoshida with avry fiber of my being.
If you think about it, Kamoshida alone are responsible for 3 persona awakening in 3 different people, one of which barely even see him IRL for 5 seconds. You have to hit home really hard with how much u touch the nerve of everyone to be able to do that
@@megazero2735 well, three that we know of, remember we don't know anything about shiho after her encounter, except for what we learn in one of Ann's confidant events, which doesn't say much but she does appear different than before, maybe she somehow while unconscious awakened her persona, maybe she didn't, all I can say is after what happened she isn't the same girl anymore.

I started the fight at 4am hoping to finish the game in 2 houers and go to sleep, and then I spent 6 hours trying to beat him, and my last and successful attempt took me 3 fucking hours. I was playing on hard, and it was my second ever jrpg game after p4, and boy I regretted choosing the hard mode. I actually regretted it after 15 hours but was too lazy to restart the game on normal mode.

Kamoshida is one of those weird characters where I actually do "love to hate" them. Usually, if I hate a character it's because they're poorly written, but Kamoshida is so well-written that I actually got legitimately angry at his shit, and I have absolute respect for the writers for managing to pull that off.

Asujoll Also unlike Madarame, Kaneshiro, and Okumara, he wasn’t influenced by Shido in the slightest. He’s the only non main antagonist that isn’t influenced by anyone but himself.

one bad thing from persona 5 is that, the first boss story is too good that it make later boss seem less threatening.
P5's first boss was written by a different team than the team that wrote the rest of the game, well to be precise, the writing team changed quite a few time, that's why once a phantom thief's story is done they become damn near irrelevant to the story.

Kamoshida is probably the most frightening realistic antagonist in the persona series. Especially when he's just the first boss you go after. I wouldn't think people hate him for all the shit he does in the game, but because there are people we know that stoop to his disgraceful actions in reality. That's what makes him threatening.
And that there are several thousands of people like him who get away with this shit.

I hated Kamoshida more than any other Persona bad guy or really any video game bad guy in general at first, but then I found out what he did to Ryuji and Shiho and somehow I found it in my heart to hate him even more than I thought possible.

I think what makes the Adachi battle work is because of the implication. How many people who think they're good and kind, but when they get even a dose of power they instantly let it go to their head? It's an interesting concept and I like how the game delves into it.

MemeLord 2000 I mean tbf SMT always had gun attacks and that kinda went into Persona. I'm guessing it's because Adachi is had magic power or bullshit like that.
It's kind of weird because gun attacks are literally treated like any other attack.

I'm seriosly thinking about getting to lvl 99 and getting the best Personas and beat them with that because I tried to beat them so many times that my patience has run out and I don't even care anymore
LUKA JURKOVIĆ start with don't fight them before you have haru, second get at least two items with all stat+5, then find and equip against static, burn, and frozen luckily you can stock a item early that treats all of them. Aside from that lots of coffee and so recovery and if you're still having trouble sp adhesive 3 is all I can say.

LUKA JURKOVIĆ also you'll have to be careful about it but Morgana makes a good support in this fight just keep him Chunking dias and his accuracy all down and you should be fine, a lot of this fight boils down to keeping everyone on task and getting a instakill blocker up early.

I always have, and always will still enjoy the first two Personas. Though 4 is still my favorite and 3 a close second, Nyarlathotep disguised as Adolf Hitler with the Spear of Destiny is still one of my favorite things in a video game. Kinda like Mecha-Hitle-wait, I'm not finishing that sentence. Oh yeah and did I mention Tatsuya, Eikichi, Jun, Lisa, and some of the 1 cast whose names escape me. Though they're quite outdated, they still have a great bit of enjoyment in them.

The Nyx Avatar is honestly my favorite one. The sense of finality, atmosphere, and even the music make this the best boss fight in all of Shin Megami Tensei.
I have to contend that. For me, that spot goes to Isabeau from IV. I got Law on my second playthrough (somehow stumbling into Neutral my first time despite the game's best efforts), and I was NOT prepared to fight her. Gameplay-wise, absolutely,but emotionally? Ohhh nooooo...
The three Prentice Samurai are dear to me. I love them and I wish more mainline games had the party dynamic of IV instead of making you one edgelord and a bunch of demons interacting with some fuck you've spent a collective thirty minutes with by the time they decide to kill you.
Like I said, I got Neutral my first go-around, so I spent a lot of time with Isabeau. I got to know her really well, got endeared by her love of manga and old-timey touch, and really empathized with her at the alignment splits.
So when I got Law my second playthrough, I knew that this is an SMT game, and Isabeau will stand against me, but I didn't process it. The actual fight was something else.
It's easy as shit, as soon as one of her demons goes down, the fight is over, but that's not the point. If anything, it's supposed to be a one-sided stomp. It's like Chidori, but given enough time and atmosphere to really let the tone sink in.
The music is beautifully tragic. It sounds like a desperate last stand against a great evil, and that's you. You're the boss fight, and it feels TERRIBLE. I felt depressed after Isabeau's death. Lucifer Palace kind of melted into a blur. I wasn't really...there for the rest of the game. When Merkabah told me that I have to die in the Yamato Perpetual Reactor, I didn't even blink. I just accepted it. I've never done the White Ending, because I know I'll only feel disappointed after this fight.
I had a dream about me playing the first part of Persona 5, but Kamoshida was a football coach and making his team use STEROIDS to win, causing Mishima to have at heart attack ON SCREEN. He also did all the other stuff he did in the game.
He would actually do this and not even care.

Fair enough about him not playing it, but they do exist as an integral part of the cannon. In fact, the ending of Persona 2 was the catalyst for the shadows of Persona 3 coming into being, so they are both an important beginning to Persona's history, even if they may play more like an oldschool SMT spin-off with the first-person dungeon-crawling gameplay.

Ooooh, I remember my first fight against Nyx... I naively thought "hey, this thing can't have more than 5 or 6 forms, right? Right?!" Beign barely able to get to the Emperor arcana I felt powerless... And then I leveled up just a little bit and fused my most memorable persona ever... Grand Protector Kohryu... Tarunda to weaken Nyx, Marakukaja to protect my party, Mediarahan to heal my party and Samarecarn to resurrect the fallen. Oh, buy, this battle was hyped...

Dude, we had pretty much the exact same Persona experience. I started with a Let's Play of 4, then watched one of 5, and then went back and watched one of 3, and my overall feelings about all of them are exactly as you summed it up in your #2 entry on this list. And I'd say this list is accurate to my feelings about these boss battles as well.

15:52: What clued me in was the fact that his persona didn’t get a book in the library. That’s when I started paying attention to the game design and realized I also couldn’t hang out with him to increase his rank.
Heh. Akechi didn't stand a chance against me. My first goal upon entering Shido's palace was making a Persona that would crush him in the inevitable fight with him. So I created a Persona who's name I can't pronounce (Michelzediek or something like that), made sure it had skills that would either make it immune to or reflect Light, Darkness, Physical, and Pierce damage. He was almost completely helpless. He kept focusing on Joker but the only method of attacking him was Almighty damage, but non of those attacks would be able to kill Joker before someone else healed him. I basically went into that fight with full plate armor on while Akechi desperately tried to kill me with one of those nerf covered toy swords you get from the dollar store.
P5 have only phys and gun instead of the past 3 types

SPOILERS FOR P3
Does anybody remember the whole 'revenge site' thing? It was mainly used to show us Strega, but I feel like they could've expanded on it, making Strega themselves better. We know Jin is quite famous online, and that the revenge site works, and that the main cast themselves know it's a thing. You'd think someone might've, oh I don't know, *thought it might have something to do with Personas?* The whole artificial personas thing was really shoe-horned in at the end (quite literally, with it being explained on the way up to the final boss) I've always felt like it could've been used better...
P3 is my favourite game in the series, but god do I dislike the Strega part of it. I really think if written better it would've helped. It was only because of the Drama CD's and manga that I actually warmed up to the love story sub-plot. I wanted to know more about them dammit!
Skull_Latte I liked the love story subplot. It was interesting to see Junpei change as a person over time and his change felt realistic.
I really liked the lasting impact it left on him, even if it was in the latter parts of the game. It was nice to see that Chidori's death wasn't just to change his Persona.
I agree that they were extremely underutilized, but the artificial persona thing was foreshadowed way before the final conversation with Jin. The latter just fills in the details around it.
The #1 spot along with his explanation turned this video from a 7/10 to a 10/10.
I have an idea for a persona boss. Basically, it would be both the dumbest, and yet most clever shadow. It would speak like a simple minded caveman and speak in reverse, meaning he will mean the opposite of what he really means. He would also have an elemental barrier that would change randomly to another resistance, leavening him open to a specific element, and he would foolishly give it away, like "me am stronger than fire" which would mean he's now weak to fire attacks. But as he loses health, he starts to use his manner of speech as a weapon, becoming more likely to change his weakness to another element rather than what he says he's weak too. Like if he's low on health, he'll be more likely to lie about his weakness, baiting you into attacking him with the wrong attack.

Funny, I played Persona 3 not too long after I played Persona 5, and I wound up liking the story and characters a lot more than I did 5. I *like* the Phantom Thieves (other than Morgana), but I absolutely *love* S.E.E.S., especially Aegis, Mitsuru, Junpei, and Mr. Edge himself, Shinjiro. They're all my babies and it hurts me that they'll never have a happy ending with Minato alongside them.
Same thing with me 3 is my favorite, and I came from 5 and 3 was the last game I played

Another important thing about Kamoshida is that for a lot of people, that was their first new Persona boss in MANY years, and the satisfaction of seeing him confess was just that much stronger

Most developed, doesn't mean he isn't an unlikable douchebag for almost half the game
This is why character developement is great i litterally hated myself for not leveling junpei after his awakening

@@Oldboy2305 I beg to differ, he constantly throws tantrums and in some cases nearly gets the members of SEES killed until he hooks up with Chidori, after that I agree he becomes one of the better characters in the game, but it doesn't really excuse his behaviour before that point
