If if was discovered they fudged numbers to appeal to Disney, the entire institution would become blackballed and no longer considered a proper source for information. So no, they weren't "paid off" by Disney, because they have far more to lose and what's more, are an independent entity that has no real ties to Disney.

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk Год назад

      @@Native_youtuber947they need to simply stop with these expansion lands already. It does nothing to help capacity. It just makes the parks more crowded. They need to just build a new park already. They don’t want to though because that’s more expensive than cramming more people into existing parks (think cost of transportation, janitorial, and other staffing). They have plenty of land for a 5th park at WDW and a 3rd park at DLR, but they don’t want to do that. They finally teased us with their plans for the Toy Story lot in Anaheim, and it’s not even a park.
      As for ride theme overlays at WDW, that will never happen due to the fact that DLR relies heavily on locals that go multiple times a year and want something new. At WDW, most guests aren’t locals. They are traveling all over the world, some once in a lifetime, and they not only want to see the original Haunted Mansion, but want to see it open. That means the ride is down for maintenance a month before and a month after. When visiting DL during that time, you basically have to choose between Haunted Mansion or Small World, because one or the other will be down depending on when you go.
      That and just look at the 50th. Sure, they wanted to cheap out. But for the 25th, they were on a budget crunch with the failure of EuroDisney and cost of Animal Kingdom, but they made the cool birthday cake castle that… …many people hated. They finally got to go to WDW, and Cinderella’s castle was a giant pink cake. It’s in people’s wedding photos. Kids loved it, but adults hated it. WDW can’t have temporary changed like that. And when they do exist, they need to stay temporary. The sorcerer Mickey EPCOT arm… …the Sorcerer Mickey hat pin store blocking the Chinese Theater… …when you leave temporary decor up forever, people freak out and complain when you finally do get around to removing it.

      @Native_youtuber947 you do realize Disney never builds 1 of anything, the cost of developing rides and attractions are so high that they build a minimum of 2 if not more across all the parks world wide but not always at the same time. If you don't like that they are tearing out rides to build new ones in FL then let the company know since they have plenty of land they aren't using they could be building on, CA the ORIGINAL PARK has limited land to work with so actually has no choice but to loose attractions in order to build new ones and the only land that was designed to keep changing is Tomorrowland which many rides would never fit in the land of Tomorrow theme.

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk Год назад

      @@WolfDShadowLimited land? What about that Toy Story lot? That place is HUGE. Big enough for a third park. Meanwhile, WDW has tons of land, and just like Anaheim, they’d rather do expansions, making 20th century parks even more crowded, rather than build a 5th park. No park should ever be a two day park. This is why parks are so crowded.

    • @WolfDShadow
      @WolfDShadow Год назад

      Have you even looked at the DisneylandForward pages where they show large sections of their properties they are planning to expand on? They are trying to add 3 lands to each park, add more parking structures, shopping district with a themepark level attraction and hotel. That means they have options outside the existing lands upgrades. Also TOMORROWLAND is most likely being bulldozed down to the ground except for Matterhorn Spacemountain the Monorail and the Disneyland Railroad, a large portion will become Fantasyland including Matterhorn being only a Fantasyland ride and the rest will become the new TOMORROWLAND which Avatar doesn't fit in any possible way to the land of Tomorrow. Now with the announcement of the Beauty and The Beast attraction closing in DCA inside Hollywood land that means there is a possibility other sections inside the animation building could also be closing or even across the midway in one of the Soundstages be converted to a Avatar attraction if they keep the DCA plan or they could put it in Fantasyland as part of the Fantasyland expansion during the TOMORROWLAND remodeling instead of building the rumored Beauty and the Beast ride/Restaurant. There is also a 3rd option with the former Splash Mountain area of Critter County becoming New Orleans Square they could turn the rest of Critter Country and turn it into Avatar since Davy Crockett Canoes can be absorbed into Frontierland attractions since everything else on the river is Frontierland which leaves 1 Restaurant 1 attraction and 1 shop to be a entire land. If they go for the Critter County option then they could eliminate making a deadend and connect the midway there to SWGE also while giving that section of the park a overdue face-lift.

    I’ve been saying this for a while now, but I’m slowly losing hope that the Disney I grew up with will ever resurface. It has become a greedy, money grabbing corporation. There used to be a justification for the higher prices, now there’s not even a justification for on par pricing. The theme parks are not on par with their competition and I feel that the magic that was once held here has gone.
    The entire industry that Walt Disney created is in desperate need of overhaul and no one is listening to the people that can turn this around…the dedicated, lifelong fans. We know what we expect from a Disney experience because we’ve had it before.
    Disney executives do not know what to expect, because they’ve never done it the way that many of us have. They are catered to at every turn, whereas most park goers do not have that privilege. I can remember days when the parks were navigable and now, lots of bottlenecks. I can remember days when there were other attractions away from the rides to ease the congestion and shorten the wait times. I can remember when I wasn’t charged for every single thing I am doing in the parks (at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if they started charging to use the restrooms).
    The 1990s were a fabulous and profitable time for the theme parks. They should take some cues from this time period as most everything worked. There was no “pay to ride” line skipping option, it was included in the theme park admission and with all the increases that in admissions, no reason to charge extra for this. The tiered admission system is a joke too, charge more during high traffic times, why? Your profits would be through the roof if the company were managed properly, that’s not the park goers problem…we didn’t hire them. Too many companies are doing this thing where they take out on the customers what they need to make up themselves, it’s out of hand and incredibly insulting.
    They need to stop taking advantage of the true fans before there’s none of us left.

      Chapek was the one that really pushed for the money grab from visitors without any care in the world, that is why Iger has limited the availability of many additional fee options in the parks and added a lower price tier of tickets while greenlighting spending the extra money to make the changes more magical by fitting the theme if the land instead of Chapek's smooth concrete no matter on the land theme for everything. Remember Iger didn't approve any of the greedy moves Chapek put in place and has dismantled entire departments that were never needed after returning while returning control to the departments that should have been in control of what Chapek created the entire time. Iger may not be the best but he also isn't against making the improvements to keep the guests returning to the parks and consumers subscribing to their streaming services. Remember Iger is working for the company om a short contract at a smaller salary this time but has bonus goals set infront of him to fix what Chapek has done to the company while they are looking for a new CEO and Iger did make the company profitable while getting more visitors to visit the parks and only left because he thought he was getting a government job which fell through.

    That article sounds like a jab at Ron DeSantis. And I get it... they are budding head with the Governor. But also, the company seems to forget who let Disney World reopen after 2 months of the pandemic and what Governor had Disneyland closed for 18 months.

      Newsom wasn't the reason Disneyland was shutdown that whole time, the Doctors in charge of local health departments controlled when who was allowed to open and when, Knotts down the street quickly found a way to bring in a income while still following local health departments restrictions while Disneyland remained shutdown under the same restrictions. Also need to pay attention to the number of people infected while at each resort since WDW had outbreaks constantly with guests and staff while DL rarely had transmission issues. Universal Hollywood was also open long before Disneyland reopened and kept on top of prevention procedures in place long after restrictions were lifted while Disney rushed max capacity of rides and shows as soon as they could even if they kept park capacity low due to the lack of knowledgeable cast members being employed to operate the resort since majority of the veteran cast members didn't return after they reopened.

    Avatar is the most overrated movie franchise

  • @martidodger7106
    @martidodger7106 Год назад

    Good they walked it back and I hope it stays unannounced.
    Avatar has not been the cultural staying point like other franchises like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Cars, Toy Story, etc., Disney hoped it would be when they announced it.
    It feels like Disney keeps trying to force Avatar to justify Iger’s knee-jerk reaction to find something to rival the Wizarding World at Universal.
    No one has the emotional attachment to Avatar as they do Star Wars, Toy Story, etc., and it’s bizarre to me to keep trying to get people to care over something that was a flash in the pan/most born after the first movie didn’t realize there was a movie because it’s not like Star Wars or Mickey Mouse where nostalgic parents who have emotional attachment make sure to that their kids get attached to the thing as well.
    It’s never merited an entire land, and while pretty, seems so out of place/is taking the place of something better and more culturally relevant that will have generational staying power.
    It’s the theme park equivalent of they keep trying to make fetch happen.
    Keep it in FL and hopefully in a decade demo it and put in Beastly Kingdom without IPs

      You do realize he only said a Avatar EXPERIENCE would be added to the Disneyland Resort which means it could be as small as Turtle Talk with Crush where if you didn't know it was inside the building you could walk by without knowing it was in the resort just like so many other experiences people never notice in the parks.

    Totally called Avatar going into DCA! Don't care that it wasn't a "real" announcement. Many of their "real" announcements never happen. This is happening. Bye, Hollywood Land! (It's totally going here. Shockingly, the super cheap Avengers Campus didn't move DCA's needle. In fact, attendance in 2022 was down from 2019. I guess they finally realized that an Avengers-themed Indiana Jones ride wasn't going to get anyone that excited. Flight of Passage? Yes, please!)
    Now we just all need to prepare for all the "This isn't California!!!" whining. It's a DISNEY-created ADVENTURE that is located in their CALIFORNIA theme park. (I hate to tell you this, but Universal Studios Hollywood is NOT located in Hollywood! Magic Mountain ISN'T on an actual mountain! And it's not magic! Neither is the Magic Kingdom! Also, not an actual kingdom! Disney has TWO "Studios" parks, Universal also has two, yet only one of the four is an actual working studio! Animal Kingdom has things in it that are totally not animals!) If it bothers you that much, pretend that the RDA where Jake gets Avatar'd is in California. (It probably is. Evil tech giants and all that... Silicon Valley!) Knowing Disney, this is probably the backstory they will come up with. (Honestly, though, Disney, just go generic. It's not like Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom are such great names. Make this Disney Adventure Park - California, and then rename the Studios parks to Disney Adventure Park - Florida and Disney Adventure Park - Paris (or France). Make their heads stop exploding.
    Until they do change names, play along. If you want them to focus on good rides, just nod your head and move on with your life. If you want them to focus on name changes rather than turning Hollywood Land into an actually-decent land, then keep up the whining.

      You do realize they never said Avatar would be anything more than a Experience which means it could be 1 room in the animation building. Of course attendance is down when they are using a reservation system to keep attendance under control while having so many cast members that are new that they can't handle the reduces number of guests since the company lost too many veteran employees during the pandemic to function at normal capacity. Hell the quality of performance coming from cast members being able to do their jobs efficiently has been missing for decades but the pandemic had just exposed it even greater so everyone now can see it. Queues that should take 5 minutes are turning into 15-45 minute queues, ticket takers unable to figure out how to work the turnstiles when there is a problem even after being shown 1,000 times by a supervisor how to deal with the problem, and let's not forget the ever growing excuse for injuries in the parks because cast members aren't even paying attention to what is happening around them that they are responsible to be paying attention too then tried to blame it on the guests who got injured.

      Tom is out of town, get over it. Eric does an awesome job, when Tom is not there. No matter who does the news, and I seen Jill, Jason, & Merissa do it too,( I think that was her name.) They're all good with their own personality. It's not easy, I've had VO training and I've done some narrative work. Getting in front of a camara and reading a script is not as easy as it looks. So cut Eric some slack.
