I think it is very touching to dedicate the Space Mountain 50th event to George Wilkins! The music and score make the attractions special. RIP George. Thank you for providing us with music that makes us feel!❤
Apple used to use the marketing technique Disney is using currently. Release an extremely small quantity of an item (Fast Pass Premiere) so it sells out quickly. Then people want what they can’t have. Disney over time increases the supply available and people are purchasing something that never really was limited with the exception of the launch date. Then in the age of social media, give the pass to a few content creators to post key points they want covered, notice how many creators have similar video titles, and there you have it.
What we need to know is what percentage of guests at MK or HS during the holidays are also guests at deluxe resorts that would qualify for the premier pass as it currently stands. And how many of them are planning on or purchased this pass for their trip. I mean, it’s not a product - currently - for your average “middle” class family, we were priced out once the deluxe resort stay became a factor 😅 But I just wonder how many guests at MK on say 🦃 Monday are deluxe and actually getting this. Along with how many they actually _planned_ and _did_ sell 😉
That's a great question. We booked deluxe through dvc rental store and are saving a lot of money but definitely won't be buying premier pass although because of how things are we may but lightning Lane pass for the cheapest park,AK if pricing is under $20. Otherwise we'll just use calendar app for accurate ride times instead of the Disney app inflated times.
Disney stated lightning lanes were over filled with wheelchairs and the handicapped. They needed to clear the lanes for the rich people. Walt would never have wanted this.
Many, Many People have LOTS of disposable income, we were at Disneyland last week after dinner, 7pm Wednesday, walking through the World of Disney store every check-out line looked to be at least a 30-minute que to purchase, crowded beyond capacity.
what?!?! are you sure the walkway will open? if so that is HUGE good news and I will share with the Shades community. So far we've been told the walkway was closed forever. it's been a major downgrade to the Shades experience for many of us.
The parks would be a better place if people were strong enough to say "no" instead of cave into their wants and pay whatever Disney asks for Lightning Lane. I don't blame Disney anymore, the fans burden this blame.
I don’t know about that. I’m at Disney World right now and the crowds are astronomical. Crushingly busy, with the majority in Stand By. The Very Merry Party on Sunday was so oversold it has forever put me off buying a ticketed event ever again.
@@happymaskedguy1943 I think we're actually on the same side of the argument. Buying overinflated LL passes isn't the solution, it's the cause. Fastpass was free, and metered out. Crowds will always exist depending on the time of year, but why squeeze out an extra $500 just to ensure the non-wealthy wait in line even longer?
It's just a basic time vs money equation. How much money is worth the time you save? It's not for everyone, but for those that can easily afford it, I can see the appeal of getting on any ride, at the time you want, and wait very little to go on a ride.
Curious about single rider for Remy...do they just join in the LL queue or is there a third separate line for them? We are a fam of 5 so we always get a single rider on the Falcon but that seems like its own separate line from standby. Sorry if this seems like a silly question, just trying to remember the design of LL Remy queue. If they just join LL queue then I could see lots of people joining to just skip the line and backing up LL.
Oh at the Shades of Green sign. It was outdated. Only resort I stayed at with my family only because we were military. Also outdated, but everything is with the military
I’m not at all surprised premier pass sold out. It is a smart decision to over something like that though the limitations are clunky. My main issue is that it feels like Disney destroyed Das in order to clear out the lines and force more people to buy. But if they cared about keeping the lines moving for this Uber pricey option they should’ve removed the cheaper lightning lane option. Hopefully they don’t oversell premier pass like they did with genie plus. But then what if you book the delux resort a few days before your trip only to find out premier pass is unavailable? I’m a okay with this change just as long as they allow the physically disabled guests to access Das again. Just have the disabled guest present a doctors note like they do at universal and boom you don’t have to worry about scammers or people fainting in the lines. Das is important and it needs to change.
Premier Pass selling out is the best thing that could happen, that could be a step for Premier Pass being the only Lightning Lane option, meaning lower wait times 🤷🏾♂️
Simple truth. Disney owes people nothing. It is a theme park business. The business model is so good it has made a world of people delusional about what it is. It has always been a business. It is a travel vacation option for all to choose if they want to. I laugh a lot at those that say Disney is being destroyed. Disney is the same as it has always been. It is just not 1971 anymore. If you cannot afford something you just can’t afford it. Obviously enough people appreciate Disney now to keep it making money now. I hate all the complaints about a vacation option. A lot of same people complaining now never cared when the park was a little insensitive to certain groups. Now it may be your turn. Funny a lot of that going around these days. It is not a right to go to Disney. It is a choice. I have been going for last 10 years. Here now and just enjoyed updated Jollywood Nights. BTW do a little research and you do not need to buy LL. No crazy crowds now. But if you always choose to come during Holidays and high crowd times, you get what you get. Nice analysis Tom! How’s Eric by the way?
Of course they sold out. There are still many rich people that go to Disney, that's exactly what Disney wants. Then there are those that are doing it once in a lifetime and will use their credit card to pay for it and go into debt. The only thing that will make Disney care about their guests experience is losing customers to Epic which they will.
@@metallicnole4514it's not just about the pricing, it's also about the experience. Disney has removed many of the perks and some they are now just charging for them.
The bias about EPIC is very apparent here. It's pretty arrogant to think people will that people only come here for Disney even before EPIC opens. There are a large amount of people Disney has priced out, and does not provide the value that Universal is beginning to capitalize on. EPIC will impact Disney, in some positive ways, but it will also hurt them in others. Universal has positioned itself to be a week long destination now. 4 full park days including the waterpark essentially takes up a week vacation and eats up Disney profit potential. Also as it stands, park hopping is required for those visiting EPIC opening year. Those are the only packages available. (3 day tickets with 1 day at Epic.) The last note I will make is when Iger says they have "known" and are "not worried" are very much to calm investors and fans. They will never openly admit it took them by surprise, nor would they ever admit that it will hurt them. Time to start thinking critically here...
Disney has already priced out working/lower middle-class families. This will confirm that people with money are prepared to pay anything for the Disney experience, so get ready for major price hikes in the very near future.
I don't think the are sold out they want you to think that it's very popular and it's selling out so you should hurry and get it But the fact is they are not selling out and are greatly decreasing the availability the internal gossip is that it was greatly underselling so they decrease availability and that it will disappear soon
Wow, Disney execs really know how to talk through their teeth. They did not expect Epic to be opened this fast. They are scared and there is a reason they have offered discounts at resorts. They are definitely scared and aware that this will affect them.
Lmao what do u mean the park has been public knowledge for 5+ years definitely they knew before universal announced. Stop saying they’re worried, they’re not

My father in law always said competition is good for business. No one is going to Orlando without going to Disney. It’s a win win
Wrong... most visitors to Orlando have had enough of Disney, and are spending their hard earned money elsewhere.
Didn't P.T. Barnum say: "There's an ass for every seat"??
And a scalp for for every pair of Mickey Ears too, apparently.
Can Disney try something new with non-alcoholic drinks? Not all of us drink. It would be nice to expand beyond Power-aid and coffee (yuck, for me).

Disney has 12K Deluxe rooms and 18K Moderate and Value rooms.

The only comparable option is the VIP tour, which is even more expensive.

people who claim to be for capitalism are upset that a capitalistic entity is making money. Definitely strange.
Why would anyone in thier right mind go to wdw during a holiday? Crushing crowds and gridlock. No thanks.
