In the 70s and 80s I lived for many years in Todmorden and your fantastic layout reminds me so much of the trundle down the hill to Bradford Interchange and the reversal round the corner and up the other hill to Leeds. Many congratulations on your 550 subscribers and thanks for introducing me to Inkscape (which I am slowly learning). Keep up the great work and really looking forward to watching the progress.

Hi mate 👍 great update and congratulations on you 500 mile stone 👏 shame about the bad luck with the HST but I’m sure it will get sorted for you👍 just an idea with the five car HST not fitting the cassette in your storage area. Could you make a cassette that has a curve /sweep from the front to the back wall ?
Now that is a cracking idea! Yes, it may just work. I’d have to remove the wooden guides I use to seat the cassettes in the right place but it may well we worth it. Thank you for watching, and for the excellent suggestion. 👍👍👍

Hello great video and congrats on reaching 500 subs. I would be very interested to see what TMC do to fix the problem with your HST bogie. One of the bogies on my new Dapol HST has some play in it causing the wheels to catch on the underside of the chassis, it doesn't derail but I am curious to see what they do as I am sure it must be a manufacturing fault. I have two sets and both have the same fault but fortunately they don't derail so I am willing to put up with it. I hadn't actually noticed until watching your video. Good luck and all the best 👍👍

Hi Michael, you have a great series of videos going here. I have purchase a dapol hst and also have the same issue as you (and seems that there is one other in the comment below with a similar issue also). Did tmc say what the issue was and how to fix it? I noticed that removing the body cover solves the problem but fitting it back again starts the problem off again. I am guessing that maybe the body cover is too tight and flexing the top of the chassis slightly. Not sure I trust myself to try and fix it though in case I invalidate the warranty
Btw, noted in your next video your issue with the lights. I can confirm my hst has equally bright front lights running in either edition of you're wondering whether yours is unique or not

If you can, I'd be tempted to send yours back too, as I'd hate to try to fix it myself and then make it worse. I sent both the power cars, as they came as one item, so it was easier to send them back like that. I just got them back today, so will be putting a video on shortly about them.

@@Chandwell That HST does look good, the weathering is ace, just right for a train that's had a full day's use. I just don't think it will suit Mossdale as it is now. I have ideas for a big extension or a complete fresh start going all around the room but I am waiting for a promised visit from a photographer for a model magazine.

I lived in Spennymoor until I was seven then moved to Crook. My dad was a teacher in Middlestone Moor in the early 1980s!
