The action on the marabou jigs are irresistible to steelhead/browns and salmon. Great demonstration, Bill. Jig bite will only get better as the cold weather hits.
Love the channel Bill I'm an old Western New York guy hunted and fished Western New York my whole life really enjoy your videos Nice to see the old timers
I agree keep it simple. Those colors are money for me as well. Thanks Bill . Hope the recent rains spread some fish around so we can use some jigs soon.
I'm taking my Thanksgiving trip to burt next week and will have to try some out there. Great video, as always. Hope to see you and your son on the water someday. Hope you and the family have a great holiday.
Just found your channel and have been watching some of your videos.Ok what I am about to say isn't meant to be derogatory in anyway.I tie alot of micro jigs and small streamers that i use for White and yellow perch my target species. However these jigs work on all types of panfish and trout. The point i am trying to make is the use of bait tipped onto the jig.I can understand that completely. In my experience there are times i simply won't catch perch unless I tip my jigs with a grass shrimp or a minnow. However there are times when these fish get charged up and no bait is necessary.I understand the purist theory of many anglers who refuse to use baits or scents. The purpose for this comment is when your go fishing the object is to catch fish and sometimes you have to do what it takes.Enjoy your content.Btw i can use a whip finish tool, but haven't mastered palmering feathers just yet.Once you master a whip finish tool it's like riding a bike.I have to admit it's an intimidating tool at first glance.Happy holidays.😂New subscriber.
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures Happy Holidays as well. It's catching not fishing. Also fishing 🎣 isn't a spectator sport. Nothing worse than watching other people catch fish and your going crazy scratching your head, changes lures a thousand times trying to figure out what your doing wrong.
Interested in the Jig hook strength you are using. Unless I use hooks like Gamakatsu, Owner, 2x hooks we have problems with hooks bending especially in rivers with current like here in the Pacific Northwest. We have to use a little heavier line for the fresh ocean run fish in strong current and apply more pressure to land fish in many conditions which bends lots of regular jig hooks. Always looking to try another product for quality and value. Nice video thanks.
thanks man✌️ they say the hooks are 3x - never had one break or bend even using them for king salmon heres a link for the jig heads - voodoocustomtackle.com/About-Us_ep_7.html
Hey Bill, you planning on fishing tomorrow (Sunday) before the Bills game? Might make a trip to fish an Erie trib or stick to Burt dam. Cayuga is probably the closest to me, fished it in town before below the dam and a bit downstream from there. Haven’t fished it any of the lower stretches. Trying to find a place where Michael can fish as well, somewhere where there is a deeper pools and slow current like in your last couple videos.
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures One more question. I wanted to buy wax worms last time but Wes’s tackle store closed down and the one close to him by the boats was closed at 11am. Is there anywhere else in Olcott that I can buy them?
Hi Bill: a good video as usual. Question: Is that a 1/16 oz or a 1/8 oz jig you are tying? Thanks for all your videos. They are very helpful! Regards, Timothy.
Just found your channel. I would like to know if you’ve ever used those flies in Alaska for sockeye? I don’t know if you’ve been there to fish for sockeye, but there they “floss” aka attempt to snag the sockeye in the mouth. I’ve been there last two years and always thought about using a jig to get hook down on their level
What do you guys work in besides fishing? Are used to go up your way every year when I lived up north Unfortunately, I live in Florida now I have only been back six times in the past 20 years Great show you guys fish some of my spots
