@@thewalrus45 Leblanc is not a villain or a main antagonist of the story. She is not good either Yes, but she is not also Evil. She is only preventing things probably cataclysms like the Rune Wars or Mordekaiser returns from happening again. If you watch it again, her main purpose here is Ambessa, with her goal with the Arcane and by recruiting Mel. Mel is not the first one to be manipulated by Leblanc, as she is already all over Runeterra. Her purpose is only to invite, and free to decline, just like how Swain ended his part with the BlackRose. Noxus is more like the Politics Region, everyone with power there will fight for themselves, and the BlackRose/Leblanc is always the support/guest character that uses manipulations just the same here in Arcane.
So basically: Ambessa has had a conflict with the Black Rose for years, and has had a desire for conquest that mixed with that conflict. The conflict eventually reached the point where Ambessa investigated the black rose and discovered the Exile Runes which the Black Rose had. The runes are used for weapons (Riven) and for a failsafe against Mordekaiser. While Ambessa managed to acquire the Rune Relics, The Black Rose retaliated and apprehended Kino, who was, at the time, also investigating the feud between Ambessa and the Black Rose. From there, the Black Rose discovered of a second child. the Black Rose tried to negotiate with Ambessa for the stolen rune relics back in exchange for Kino, but Ambessa cared only for the fact that the Black Rose kidnapped and later killed Kino, not that her own actions, even if for family, was what led to Kino's death. Mel will probably want to settle the dispute with the black rose, maybe avenge Kino and Elora, but given theres still plenty of room for negotiation now given that Ambessa's dead and the rune relics aren't of any use to Mel, she'll probably aim to find a place in Noxus to live up to her mother's legacy and survive.
are the runes the one she used to fight against mel and caitlyn? also if they r ik they were quite op but surely the reason of conflict could be much greater, also didnt kino mention that the reason black rose is having a conflict with ambessa is due to the fact that the "child" inherited something that was theirs, im guessing the birth of mel weakened the Arcane black rose used?
i dont fully understand how the black rose works as an organisation but given le blanc’s powers, wouldnt it be pointless to look for revenge or “settle scores” with them? In a way she cannot lose
I doubt it, mel is the one that was chosen by the wolf, the wolf chases those who try to escape death, my guess is mel will defeated mord mel and vladimir, since all of these escaped death.
I know this show was insanely expensive but how is it not worth it for just these Black Rose scenes alone let alone the entire first two seasons? If I was a billionaire or whatever I would finance a third season just to have my name attached to what will go down as something historic.
She was not ever relevant to the plot. And the black rose is integral to Leagues overall lore, so it having more screentime than a show only charecter is good
@@brodyestes2376 she WAS relevant to the plot, a lot. or did you not even watch the show?? the fact that an important character from season 1 got less screentime in comparison to a new plot point that doesn't even add anything to the piltover and zaun story is ridiculous. we are not talking about league lore and what is "most important" lore wise. we are talking about arcane, a fvucking character driven plot.
@@crisssstopher Besides what Sevika already did in S2, what do you think was lacking if she had more screen time? The only thing would be negotiating Zaunites to help with the final fight, but that would just be filler. I don't see any need for more Sevika screen time, she had enough.
The only subplot where I felt like the writing was failing a bit instead of just being fast paced. Mel having magic powers was foreshadowed but it still feels so disconnected from the rest of the plot, we barely see anyone including Mel react to that fact, all we get is the explanation of why she and Jayce survived the explosion. The final scene here feels like Marvel writing in a way, its only saved by Ambessa finally being proud of her daughter as she is dying.
@@Azuressunset i always felt like this subplot was not actually meant for this show, but more like a foreshadow for future ones (next series announced for Noxus)
Because then they would need another season. Mel's powers are not really the point of the story. They had to be introduced but do it earlier and then you have to write the whole drama about her and her mother, her secrets, what it means she's a weapon and is she going to be forced to use it in the oppression of Zaun and if not then what then with the plot. So instead, they brought her back at the end so there's not much time to accommodate any of the questions and implications because there's a world ending threat literally right in front of you. But then they can use Mel in the future series if they want to and they use the time skip without having to answer all the questions again (how did she grow with her powers, what other people think about it etc)
I feel like the Black Rose arc would have been a season 3 storyline if they decided to do it instead of ending the series. Season 2 should have just focused on Viktor's ascension instead with Warwick and all. Arc 3 was kinda rushed.
