Kolkata already has a metro system with the total length of 47Km.....India's first metro system came in kolkata in the year 1984 now within 3 months time kolkata is going to set another record by becoming the first city in India to have an underwater metro system...... If you're staying near the stadium then use Metro to travel to touristic places like Victoria Memorial, Museum etc Kolkata metro is very convenient and also the cheapest metro of India

Bengaluru has 178 km metro.. with 78 km already operational. Another 100 km getting inaugurated in next two years in phased manner.

Abbas ji the British name was Calcutta . It was changed subsequently to Bengali name Kolkata. It is like Madras was changed to Chennai & Bangalore to Bangaluru
Madras was forced to change....most Indians started to call us as Madrasi....which is as derogatory as calling a black as Negro. Probably Tamils faced maximum discrimination in India due to their unique language and culture.
