It truly saddens me how low AEW is going with their very first game. All of this “DLC” should’ve ALL been part of free updates and actual DLC should’ve been stuff like a New Japan roster pack with the Forbidden Door arena or a Ring of Honor roster pack with some ROH arenas like Supercard of Honor, Death before Dishonor, and Final Battle. If the current content was free while everything I mentioned could’ve been DLC, then this game would’ve been WAY much better than what we have now. Such a damn shame on how it has turned out.😕
They actually could've done it. Because the core of the game is decent, but they did all wrong decision possible after release, instead of working on improving gameplay and game modes.

Honestly, the replayability of this game just feels prehistoric. If they don't tap into the creation/universe mode-style aspects, then the series is dead in the water..

Yeah, and I thought WWE 2K22-3's lack of limb size sliders and multiple muscle tone options from 2K19 was bad and bare-bones enough, then I watched the CAW Reveals for Fight Forever and I'm so glad I passed on the game, along with the other things.

What blows my mind is people who defend them game by saying, "It's their first game." Which it's AEW's first game, true, but it's not yukes first wrestling game, and I think they deserve a lot more of the blame than aew.

This game should've add competition to wrestling games market, but not only it's worse than WWE games (which is understandable, it's the first one), but it's even more money-hugry for the stuff you can download in WWE community creations for free.

Remember they are still a VERY young company, wwe been around for 44 years and their first game was back in 1989. Im not saying its an excuse but they still learning, wwe had plenty of game fumbles and look at their games now. I want both companies to succeed and hopefully aew listens and learns from feedback
@classtilton871 At 6 years in TNA Impact came out and was a more complete game at launch than AEW Fight Forever is now, with a development window that was a full year shorter than Fight Forever's. There is literally no justification for this game to be as empty, soulless, and, quite frankly, bad as it is.

Disagree, people wanted to give Fight Forever the benefit of the doubt. Issue is, they haven't done much to really make it up to the fans through updates. Just hoping 2024 is the year where the game will turn around for the better cause it's rough right now.

Whats not being discussed, is how they sold The Elite Edition under the guise that all future DLC would be free, to those who purchased that edition. This has been a complete lie, as everyone regardless of what version you bought, all has to pay for the DLC. Essentially we paid extra money, to get the same exact game and content as those who didnt. lol.
These ridiculous prices are scaring away gamers. The least they could have done was give the DLC away for free to season pass holders. Even a year after it was released, God of War: Ragnarok gave away a free DLC called Valhalla.

@@haven7617, the show quality is great and the tournament they just had was praised pretty much by everyone. All that backstage stuff is mostly the stuff only Twitter bubble cares about. They sign big free agents, have decent rating for all their show considering time-slots, about to have a new deal, more PPVs, all in next year. They barely crack 800K viewers a week in the US… I live in Ireland & barely anyone knows about it .. How did they think they’d have the fan base for a game in the first place ? It wasn't a cash grab from the beginning? It cost 60 bucks and demanded you to pay an additional 30 bucks to get characters that should have been in the game to begin with. (like current fucking champions.) Not to mention that in order to play this DLC, it requires you to play AEW Farce Forever to begin with and I say this with no hyperbole: it is the worst video game I have ever played. It controls like shit, looks like shit, and plays like shit.

To be fair, most games do nonsense like this. I miss the old days of expansions like Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Gold. Now, they charge money for basic crap like a New Game+ for Spider-Man 2 or Mortal 1 Kombat charging money for a seasonal Johnny Cage costume that's just a slightly lighter version of his default costume. The gaming Industry is a bus fire and people need to stand up against this nonsense.

There is just no way anyone can possibly be happy with this game if you bought it at full price. It’s just not a game. It’s just a roster with matches. No season, no career, no story, no universe equivalent, very few match types, the graphics are ps3 level, the engine is literally a slightly enhanced aki engine from 1996. They took 3 years to develop this game. A competent group of 6 to 8 game modders could literally built this game off of any older wwe game in much better state for a third of the budget and they could have done in less than a year. Even if you’re the biggest aew fanboy there is just no way to look at this game as anything other than an epic fail. The fact that at this point 2k23 an older game has almost 8 times the concurrent player base at anyone time tells you all you need to know. Especially considering that 2k really only updates the most predatory and worst part of the 2k game my faction. I don’t. Particularly enjoy aew style of wrestling but when I heard they were making a spiritual successor to no Mercy I was really excited. Thank god I had time left on a gifted GameFly account and rented before I bought this game, I thought I was getting a spiritual successor but apparently I got crappy prequel. The good news folks, fire pro wrestling is still the king and is still available and the dlc packs are always on sale. It’s not a fancy wrestling game like 2k but if you’re a fan of wrestling and especially if you’re a fan of Japan wrestling I highly suggest you check it out. It’s a tough game to master but once you do it’s an incredible game.

I was going to buy this game, but because the DLC isn't a free update but an absolute cash grab, I would rather get WWE 2K23 first (bcuz 2K22 isn't quite necessary as 2K would shut down the online services quite soon) and then it would be a good idea if those paid DLCs that got released as shown in this video to be made free for season pass subscribers or owners and instead they're not doing it. It feels like they're trying to put us in an trap probably and I may not be commenting further bcuz I'm quite had enough with AEW, THQ Nordic and Yuke's and this is a minor disappointment...

Ever since I got 2K22 for $20, I've lost my love for playing Wrestling Games. I bought Fight Forever for $60, and while at first I DEFINITELY still liked it more than 2K22...nothing has truly dethroned 2K19 for me. But there is a runner up that's right behind 2K19 called FIRE PRO WRESTLING WORLD. Got me back into playing games a bit more and has EVERYTHING you'd want from a Wrestling Game. 2K22 and 2K23 frustrate and INFURIATES me to no end, and Fight Forever at the moment is VERY disappointing, but both 2K19 and Fire Pro Wrestling World has given me some fun.

Honestly the Beat the Elite mode is more like Championship mode from WCW NWO revenge atleast 2k Towers switched up the match type or rules, this is a straight gauntlet of the same matches

For me I take into contents WWE 2K23 right now is 19 bucks an that's a whole freaking game AEW Season 2 DLC is 24 dollars. WTH an I brought the Elite Edition of this game when it first came out. An unless theirs more to be added this really is just a cash grab.

I heard people say that about so many games, no man’s sky is hard exception to the rule. What they were able to do was nothing short of miracle and unfortunately it nearly bankrupted them because by the time the game was good it was free on game pass.
I was so hopeful for Fight Forever and even got into some modding but now I just don't bother even considering playing it, let alone think about buying the overpriced DLC.
It has been a cash grab since it got announced. For as much hype and as long as it took to complete, the final product is just trash. Top to bottom garbage.

When this game was first announced, I was super excited for it. Then the trailers started coming out and the models looked off for a modern wrestling title to which I gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought it was just early and they'll probably fix the stuff when the game gets released. And now the game got released to so many disappointing features. Everything from a lackluster story, plain matches, minimum customization, ridiculously gimmicky stuff that doesn't necessarily work and now the cash grab DLC. Sad to say that this is an absolute let-down. AEW has some of the best matches that I've seen in a long while (backstage drama aside the match quality in several of the stuff they show is still better than WWE; several of which I argue are match of the year contenders) and while I can accept that it is AEW's first game, it definitely isn't Yuke's first game. This is absolutely unacceptable and I genuinely hope AEW fires Yuke's over this. When they make (or if they make) a second AEW game, they seriously need to learn from this travesty and make a game that actually is a contender with 2k23. Super disappointed in this game. This game is almost on par with how bad 2k20 was with the only difference being that this game is way less glitchy than 2k20.

For me the direction of the game reflects, in my opinion, the direction of the real product.... The writing is just shit, only a couple of rivalry/story lines seem to make any sense, in my mind I think back to WcW's failure and wonder is Bischoff or Russo secretly in control of creative now? Maybe it's just me but I just don't like it like I did even a few months ago.

One thing about WWE 2k they make u want to play the game modes. Showcase mode u get an arena or a wrestler in mycareer u get arenas , random made up arenas wish is fun. From what I have read and heard their no reward system really in the game

Honestly, it didn't start to become a cash grab, it already became a cash grab when it was released I wanted this game to be good, I really did, but this is just a bigger disapointment than 2K announcing they would shut down servers for WWE 2K22, which they have already done yesterday. Why? after 70 uk pounds to buy the game, am i expected to pay for the new wrestlers. I played the game until i'd unlocked all unlockable wrestlers. I would have played to unlock all these dlc. But im not paying anything nore than the 70 pounds ive already paid. And because of this and the lack of unlockable wrestlers, i fear ill never play again. In comparison, i play Sea of Thieves, which i paid 50 pounds for 5!! Years ago, maybe 20+ free updates later, i still play. And when given the chance to give them money through merch or in game shop, i dont feel bitter at all and im happy to throw money at the game. Thats how you build a long lasting game !!!!!

What were people expecting if they were telling you that they aren't going to do yearly sequels and shit and were just going to update the same core game? They need to make their money somewhere. If it's not via a new game, then it's via...? As old and stupid as Battle Royale is as a concept... like I'm so over that shit at this point, it's at least a fun idea for a wrestling game. The idea of being able to run around an entire arena, backstage, in the isles of the crowd, into the ring if you want, maybe in the immediate vicinity outside of the arena, etc, and it's all seamless and interconnected with random weapons scattered about and various environmental hazards like being able to use a merch table to slam someone through, and just battle it out is something completely different for wrestling games and Battle Royale in general. While I'm sick of the concept in and of itself, this is at least somebody doing something new with it. I would've liked to have seen something like that take off.

It truly saddens me how low AEW is going with their very first game. All of this “DLC” should’ve ALL been part of free updates and actual DLC should’ve been stuff like a New Japan roster pack with the Forbidden Door arena or a Ring of Honor roster pack with some ROH arenas like Supercard of Honor, Death before Dishonor, and Final Battle. If the current content was free while everything I mentioned could’ve been DLC, then this game would’ve been WAY much better than what we have now. Such a damn shame on how it has turned out.😕

Honestly, the replayability of this game just feels prehistoric. If they don't tap into the creation/universe mode-style aspects, then the series is dead in the water..

Disagree, people wanted to give Fight Forever the benefit of the doubt. Issue is, they haven't done much to really make it up to the fans through updates. Just hoping 2024 is the year where the game will turn around for the better cause it's rough right now.

Whats not being discussed, is how they sold The Elite Edition under the guise that all future DLC would be free, to those who purchased that edition. This has been a complete lie, as everyone regardless of what version you bought, all has to pay for the DLC. Essentially we paid extra money, to get the same exact game and content as those who didnt. lol.

To be fair, most games do nonsense like this. I miss the old days of expansions like Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Gold. Now, they charge money for basic crap like a New Game+ for Spider-Man 2 or Mortal 1 Kombat charging money for a seasonal Johnny Cage costume that's just a slightly lighter version of his default costume.

There is just no way anyone can possibly be happy with this game if you bought it at full price. It’s just not a game. It’s just a roster with matches. No season, no career, no story, no universe equivalent, very few match types, the graphics are ps3 level, the engine is literally a slightly enhanced aki engine from 1996. They took 3 years to develop this game. A competent group of 6 to 8 game modders could literally built this game off of any older wwe game in much better state for a third of the budget and they could have done in less than a year.
Even if you’re the biggest aew fanboy there is just no way to look at this game as anything other than an epic fail. The fact that at this point 2k23 an older game has almost 8 times the concurrent player base at anyone time tells you all you need to know. Especially considering that 2k really only updates the most predatory and worst part of the 2k game my faction.
I don’t. Particularly enjoy aew style of wrestling but when I heard they were making a spiritual successor to no Mercy I was really excited. Thank god I had time left on a gifted GameFly account and rented before I bought this game, I thought I was getting a spiritual successor but apparently I got crappy prequel.
The good news folks, fire pro wrestling is still the king and is still available and the dlc packs are always on sale. It’s not a fancy wrestling game like 2k but if you’re a fan of wrestling and especially if you’re a fan of Japan wrestling I highly suggest you check it out. It’s a tough game to master but once you do it’s an incredible game.

I was going to buy this game, but because the DLC isn't a free update but an absolute cash grab, I would rather get WWE 2K23 first (bcuz 2K22 isn't quite necessary as 2K would shut down the online services quite soon) and then it would be a good idea if those paid DLCs that got released as shown in this video to be made free for season pass subscribers or owners and instead they're not doing it. It feels like they're trying to put us in an trap probably and I may not be commenting further bcuz I'm quite had enough with AEW, THQ Nordic and Yuke's and this is a minor disappointment...

Ever since I got 2K22 for $20, I've lost my love for playing Wrestling Games. I bought Fight Forever for $60, and while at first I DEFINITELY still liked it more than 2K22...nothing has truly dethroned 2K19 for me. But there is a runner up that's right behind 2K19 called FIRE PRO WRESTLING WORLD. Got me back into playing games a bit more and has EVERYTHING you'd want from a Wrestling Game. 2K22 and 2K23 frustrate and INFURIATES me to no end, and Fight Forever at the moment is VERY disappointing, but both 2K19 and Fire Pro Wrestling World has given me some fun.

Honestly the Beat the Elite mode is more like Championship mode from WCW NWO revenge atleast 2k Towers switched up the match type or rules, this is a straight gauntlet of the same matches

When this game was first announced, I was super excited for it. Then the trailers started coming out and the models looked off for a modern wrestling title to which I gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought it was just early and they'll probably fix the stuff when the game gets released.
And now the game got released to so many disappointing features. Everything from a lackluster story, plain matches, minimum customization, ridiculously gimmicky stuff that doesn't necessarily work and now the cash grab DLC. Sad to say that this is an absolute let-down. AEW has some of the best matches that I've seen in a long while (backstage drama aside the match quality in several of the stuff they show is still better than WWE; several of which I argue are match of the year contenders) and while I can accept that it is AEW's first game, it definitely isn't Yuke's first game. This is absolutely unacceptable and I genuinely hope AEW fires Yuke's over this. When they make (or if they make) a second AEW game, they seriously need to learn from this travesty and make a game that actually is a contender with 2k23.
Super disappointed in this game. This game is almost on par with how bad 2k20 was with the only difference being that this game is way less glitchy than 2k20.

For me the direction of the game reflects, in my opinion, the direction of the real product.... The writing is just shit, only a couple of rivalry/story lines seem to make any sense, in my mind I think back to WcW's failure and wonder is Bischoff or Russo secretly in control of creative now? Maybe it's just me but I just don't like it like I did even a few months ago.

All they needed to do is make a modern version of no mercy. Some guy made a great clone on kickstarter for a fraction of the budget.
One thing about WWE 2k they make u want to play the game modes. Showcase mode u get an arena or a wrestler in mycareer u get arenas , random made up arenas wish is fun. From what I have read and heard their no reward system really in the game

I wanted this game to be good, I really did, but this is just a bigger disapointment than 2K announcing they would shut down servers for WWE 2K22, which they have already done yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I can see people disliking 2K22, but it was one of the WWE games I can get into because it dtill had the CC fuctions.

It really didn’t. Perhaps when it was very first announced, but after 6 months to 1 year after that it became pretty apparent to anyone paying attention it was going to be shit

Why? after 70 uk pounds to buy the game, am i expected to pay for the new wrestlers.
I played the game until i'd unlocked all unlockable wrestlers. I would have played to unlock all these dlc. But im not paying anything nore than the 70 pounds ive already paid. And because of this and the lack of unlockable wrestlers, i fear ill never play again.
In comparison, i play Sea of Thieves, which i paid 50 pounds for 5!! Years ago, maybe 20+ free updates later, i still play. And when given the chance to give them money through merch or in game shop, i dont feel bitter at all and im happy to throw money at the game.

Big disappointment,I was so excited for this game,still,it wouldn't be the first time that an initial game bombed, only to get a much better sequel from it,here's hoping.
What were people expecting if they were telling you that they aren't going to do yearly sequels and shit and were just going to update the same core game? They need to make their money somewhere. If it's not via a new game, then it's via...? As old and stupid as Battle Royale is as a concept... like I'm so over that shit at this point, it's at least a fun idea for a wrestling game. The idea of being able to run around an entire arena, backstage, in the isles of the crowd, into the ring if you want, maybe in the immediate vicinity outside of the arena, etc, and it's all seamless and interconnected with random weapons scattered about and various environmental hazards like being able to use a merch table to slam someone through, and just battle it out is something completely different for wrestling games and Battle Royale in general. While I'm sick of the concept in and of itself, this is at least somebody doing something new with it. I would've liked to have seen something like that take off.
