Sad, but true. Society is falling. People are hard. Only here I have and have lost many animals, as my new friends. Many of us have left and gone to the forest. Alaska. And died there. Its all how you look at it and learn a different skill, being back to nature is not for most. But it will be where you go if all is lost.
I'm currently winding down a similar lifestyle. Though it looks romantic and idealic, it is very, very, very hard work. The human is a social animal. Living alone is like sitting down and never getting up and never using your arms or legs, it's just not for everyone. It would be a tragedy for most people.
I've had to take a bath and tomato juice to eliminate the skunk smell after being sprayed by a skunk. While I was trying to keep my dog from attacking it, and a dog got sprayed worse than I did. Yet my parents made me take a bath and tomato juice, at that time it was home canned and they were furious with me. And more furious with the neighbor who told me it was a kitty. And he laughed thinking it was funny. My dad let him know in his own way that it wasn't. I never had a problem with that neighbor again he was an old man and very mean to us boys.
