Great review. I had two Freightliner models (70003 & 70005, the latter being weathered). Glad to have kept mine when I had to dismantle & sell up a lot of my railway items a decade ago. I got rid of 70005 recently but despite not modelling "modern image" stock, I will continue to keep my 70003 and have noticed that the 31-586 model still commands high 2nd hand prices. It is not only one of the best models Bachmann ever produced, but its looks are so damn close to its 1/1 scale equivalent.
Im aware a lot of negative points are mainly to do with the weight of the early 70s such as 31-586, but adding extra weight may be an option I might consider

The air intake mods are spot on along with 70015 the main difference between the first batch ,that has been out 6 years now ! hard to believe .Outstanding model throughout ,the only problem is getting into it for DCC fitting &sound big warning though ,it's a devil to get into ,believe me Matt it really is ! Please take care with it ,needs a lot of patience ! Great review ,surely you will be adding Colas 37 Bachmann 37099 Merl Evans it's out any day now ! Do buy it Matt would be a great addition to Jubilee Rd .Cheers Nick .

I'm also thinking about getting a colas rail freight class 70 myself tbh, i love the livery, they remind me of bumblebees, well anything that's black and yellow.

Matthew I hear you say towards the end of video it's not my favourite Locomotive and a bit Ugly well I can tell you yes it's the nickname is the Ugly Duckling and so I love them so it's a full 10 out of 10 as this Locomotive can be seen at Cardiff Canton. There is a slight noise but overall the lighting and a driver impressed me also the running quality was Good. Finally if you look at the Class 70 dose it remind you of Locomotives that ran in the Nottingham area and one came though Bridgend on a rail charter a long time ago as IAM taking about a Class 58. agree haha, i dont even think ive seen that many on the real ones lol, there is so many, im glad it still has the old colas helmet and not the newer ones as there ugly lol, in my opinion they remind me of a very modern class 58, i wonder when a sound chip for these will come out. does it have a day and night switch or a switch to turn the red lights of on the bottom ??
