    Sam , on the side by the woods ,that little bit of dirt won't stop anything, suggest you rent a mini excavator again dig your self a ditch along that entire side all the way back to the woods behind the future carport structure, then fill with gravel. Creating a dry well of sorts

    Oh gosh Sam you did a fabulous job spreading that crusher run gravel. I am so impressed at how great it looks and so excited to see the build of that carport, that will be such a fun video to watch. I know that I need some gravel on the side of my property and once I get my new fence installed I will get some pretty looking gravel. Thanks again Sam and Angela for this wonderful video. I wish you all a beautiful and blessed day, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂🥰🤗👋👋🙏👍💕💜

The boy's are learning so much and old enough to help you getting the work done. There's so many kid's that aren't learning any kinds of trades and the parents aren't helping them to be self sufficient. You and Angela are great parents.😊

You kids have done tons since you moved........wow......thinking back and I know you've enjoyed doing all of it as it is your OWN. That turned out great Sam. It will help keep implements and vehicles clean. And I bet the installers will love not working in the dirt. One thought, a friend of mine and I added a lean to on the back of one of his building for his tractor and implements. I went back a couple months later and he built an implement shelf system at back and he just drives in and hooks up. It turned out pretty cool

    Great work, Sam! Just wondering (not suggesting, because I know that's none of my business!)...
    I've seen a couple of homesteader RUclipsrs who bought a Harbor Freight compactor and ran it across their gravel to make sure it was good and solid for the work ahead. For sure, Al Lumnah (Lumnah Acres channel) has used his compactor a TON and it really helped out.
    You really have the hang of using that tractor to spread and level out your gravel base. Press on!

  • @karlriley1314
    @karlriley1314 8 месяцев назад

    You should put down a barrier on the ground before putting down the gravel, that way the grass won't grow up thru the gravel.

  • @kathrynmauro8673
    @kathrynmauro8673 8 месяцев назад

    It looks good.
    Have you thought about adding a narrow V ditch on the higher side (length)? It can go out to the beginning of the tree line and pull the water away from the pilings.
    I was also thinking block, possibly with weep holes, next to the pilings with the V ditch on the other side to give you a better chance of keeping the water and mud out. I had an inverted driveway that drained into my three car garage that the previous owner forgot to mention. Having the driveway regraded and a drain system installed across the front of the garage doors sure did make a difference. It had a pipe system that carried the water away from the garage door area, passed the side of the garage, and down the slope out to a large catch basin in the backyard. It's was definitely worth the time and money. One flood from heavy rain got us to move quickly and resolve the issue.

    Ya'know, for that slope behind your new carport, you could cut a run-off ditch to direct the water [rain] away from your structure. I'm sure you've already considered that. Again, great job!!! Looking forward to seeing the building project move forward! 😊
