      Hi, thank you for your question. No the auto pilot disconnect was intentional on my part because he took his hands off the yoke. A hand on the yoke is very important because any auto pilot malfunction needs to be understood and mitigated immediately. Fly Safely - Train Often .. DR

    Always informative and interesting content. Can you elaborate on the RNP approaches and authorization to use? There seems to be different thoughts on what is required for use. Thanks and please keep them coming!

      Sure.. RNP approaches are not based on the same certification standard as GPS. The GPS approach certification is far superior which gives us lower minimums. RNP is based on an accuracy of 0.3 miles. GPS is far more accurate. I hope this information helps.
