That's cool, but cant all this and a lot more be done in one of the free game engines? Heck with Unreal Engine and livelink to any autodesk app id have a hard time convincing someone the advantage over using this over that. I'm interested in Vantage I just wanna know what it can do others cannot.
That's great, I was waiting for normal maps support in Vantage! Just one question, how do you use full screeen in the vantage window to use it as a viewport? Cheers
I switch to minimal interface by pressing the following hotkey: [ ctrl ] + [ ` ] The [ ` ] key is the one to the left of the number [ 1 ] key. I also set Vantage to be "Always on top", from the "Preferences" menu. I hope that helps.
Hello 든든이, Vantage supports only a global VRayDirt on top of all the materials. Separate VRayDirt maps in the materials are ignored at the moment. What is your use case? Maybe we can work on a solution that works for your workflow.
Is it possible to create realtime water movement in Vantage? I'm talking about simple movement, like what you get when animating noise in the bump slot.
Hello Clearstory Imaging, thanks for your question! You can do that by rendering the animation directly from 3ds Max via Live link. In my example I am using an animated noise texture with displace modifier, so that I get waves with height: ruclips.net/video/GhOQE8mndHc/видео.html Note that procedural textures are not yet supported for bump mapping, but we're working on it. Best regards, Simeon
Awesome update. I was really expecting the vrscene within a scene to work in this one.. Meaning if you start a live link, with a vrscene file loaded, it is not visible in vantage.
Hello DDD 3VIZ, that’s great! We are working on V-Ray Mesh lights support. V-Ray Fur will take a bit more time. What do you use it for the most? Carpets, grass, fur, maybe something else?
Hi Blue Arts, the animations in the videos were rendered on a single NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti. It took an average of 30 seconds for a frame at 1080p. Does this help?
Hey, Fabrizio, that's is wonderful! I'm happy you like working with Chaos Vantage! If you use animation rendering via Live link (see ruclips.net/video/GhOQE8mndHc/видео.html) you can render rigged and skinned meshes and most of the available 3ds Max's deformations. We are looking into adding support for Anima4D characters as well. Deformations are not yet supported via vrscenes, but it is on the near term roadmap, so stay tuned :) Let me know if you mean some other use case please. Best regards!
@@simeonbalabanov Hello Simeon, thanks for your response. Sorry, I was not aware of such an option (animation rendering) in Chaos Vantage. Thank you for pointing it out. Can't wait to see this amazing tool grown bigger and bigger to the point where we will not need render farms (or unreal) for render long animations.
Vantage is awsome i knew yiu guys would create it😄, Just started with Vantage. I was trying unreal engine5 when i found the vantage. Very glad to see this software. When are you going to add support for animated materials to Vantage?Like tv screen
Hi Amirhassan Razmara, in the latest update Vantage supports image sequences for textures, so you can make TV screens, fireplaces, etc. Here's the video overview: ruclips.net/video/reRF2LlY6jY/видео.html
How can you have simulated water in normal, bump and opacity maps? I mean the part where you turn on and off those maps and water ripples or boat wake appear/disappear.
Hi ABNM R, the water material uses a VRayNormalMap with normal map for the ocean waves and bump map for the boat wakes. When I toggle the bump/normal feature, the different effect is shown/disabled.
Hi rance magic, here are the specs of the PC I'm using to record all the videos: CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core RAM - 64 GB GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 11 GB OS - Windows 10 Pro, 21H2
You could try exporting to FBX, GLTF or OBJ which Vantage can import. The materials will not come across pretty, but you might use Cosmos to replace them. Would that work?
FINALLY NORMAL MAPS!!!! i can't belive it. :D
Yes, it took a while but now normal maps are here and kicking😀
Great as expected .. hope to see corona support in upcoming updates

But when will support for VRay Mesh light and VRayFur?

@@simeonbalabanov Thanks for your reply!
I use it for carpet, which is a common accessory for interior scenes.
Great job, next step would be mesh deformation? 🙃🙃
Hi Pablo Vinicius, deforming meshes is in the works, so stay tuned!
Please add ITOO's free texture plugin ColorEdge to the supported maps in Vantage.
is the rtx 2080 ti fast gpu wen it go to rendering animation ?

When will vantage support mesh lights.? its a pretty major thing.
Could you share what kind of meshes you use with as mesh lights? Is it for LED strips, complex light fixtures, etc?
