Another fabulous video Luke! I love these 24 hour ones! Tamworth has got to be one of the best locations for watching trains. Can’t wait for Part 2. A great effort! Well done! Cheers and Regards Colin👍👍
You deserve a medal Luke, I know Tamworth Station well and no way could I do that amount of time there so very well done. I did find it very interesting that when the Avanti service stopped the freight was using the DF going south, and I hope you could get into the waiting room, as you could when I was there at 5 in the morning last week. Regards Mike.
I love this video because a lot of the intermodal services and some others that you see often end up passing through where I live and its interesting to see their journey progression
This is great thanks Luke - such a busy place. Been through there many times but never stopped. Maybe on next UK visit. Look fwd to Part 2, thanks again. Cheers Marty
By lad your fond of a treat. I used to do overnighters myself, so i know, they're Absolute killers but they can be fun and judging by whats gone through so far there, it seems Totally worth it. Done 3 to 4 hrs at Tamworth myself, earlier this year, ok it wasnt 24hrs but i enjoyed it all the same. Roll on part two to see Diggle Diaries, the Corpse of Tamworth😂. Cheers for sharing Luke.
Wow! First 12 hours are great Luke, so looking forward to part 2. Really appreciate the better highlighting on the bingo sheet and amazed how much you filled in the first half. Perhaps you should count the number of sheds you see twice in places like Tamworth. Thanks again for doing these 24 hours so we can watch in comfortable surroundings. Star work Luke👌👏👍
Great stuff again Luke, good variety of workings, and the shots of fast freight trains in the dark looming out of the fog were just spectacular! Thanks for putting yourself through the torture - especially when you have to run up & down stairs! Looking forward to part two!
I've been eagerly waiting for this and I wasn't disappointed...simply brilliant is all I can say. The mix of freight was mind blowing as was switching between low and high level. I can't wait for part 2 😎
me and a group of mates were once mad enough to do overnighters.... and thats way back with loco hauled passenger, mail and newspapers... bloody good days, and beer and chinese was often involved too.
Wow Luke what a first part, awesome video as per usual, looks super cool with the lighting & fog, also lols a chilly night too, thanks for sharing, looks super cool forward too part 2, 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great vid Luke, it's certainly a great location. I foresee ten thousand subscribers very soon, you really deserve it and it's down to your dedication and hard work.
I first went to Tamworth in the 50s (yes I'm a dinosaur) and it was so busy and interesting, we had to view from the famous "Field" but wow nothing has changed with the amount and variety of traffic. Always enjoy your videos keeps me up to date, thank you/
Damn never thought to check railcam 🤦🏻♂️ wasn’t too bad on opentraintimes though to be honest, only things I missed were on purpose to catch something else.
Still want to have a go at a 24hr challenge myself, although I was planning to find a camp spot in Scotland by the train lines (not passed any fences before anyone says) and do 24 hours there.
Great video. been there quite a few times I have a dispute your double header as the RHTT train is top and tail NOT double headed, as a double headed train is 2 loco's together, so you messed up your bingo card keep up the great videos
@DiggleJunction I took my wife for an overnight in Crewe, back in the day when there was class 40 on the parcels and the post-office men took every trolly on the platform and then she had to be woken up because it was the last trolley left, it didn't go down well
I noticed on the bingo card. "Double header." I always thought that meant two locomotives attached to each other at the head of the train, or am I wrong!
I don’t sadly mate, I use Traksy/Opentraintimes for my maps. If you search google for rail map online there’s a great comprehensive free map of the uk railways 👍🏻
They seem to just use that line for southbound workings overnight when there’s no passenger traffic. Switched back to usual working lines at about 4:30/5:00am. Not quite sure why.
Excellent coverage loving the 70's. Thank you for a great presentation.
Another fabulous video Luke! I love these 24 hour ones! Tamworth has got to be one of the best locations for watching trains. Can’t wait for Part 2. A great effort! Well done! Cheers and Regards Colin👍👍
At the end I thought you were going skiing 😂😃
Love these 24 hours at videos. Fantastic stuff, thank you and keep up the excellent work!!

I love this video because a lot of the intermodal services and some others that you see often end up passing through where I live and its interesting to see their journey progression
I always find that interesting too seeing workings where you wouldn’t normally catch them. Glad you enjoyed it pal 👍🏻
Excellent stuff, can't wait for part 2.
another great video Luke looking forward to part 2
This is great thanks Luke - such a busy place. Been through there many times but never stopped. Maybe on next UK visit. Look fwd to Part 2, thanks again. Cheers Marty
Cheers Marty, definitely worth a stop for a couple of hours if you get chance!

Another excellent video Luke
Tamworth station for a container fest. Another excellent video from the Diggle Junction collection. Looking forward to viewing part 2.
Part one done , you deserve a medal , great captures but boy it looks cold . Can't wait for 2nd installment.
Cheers Brian, it was surprisingly more mild than it looked to be honest. The 6 layers helped a bit though haha
Great video love it i did 24 hours at crewe in the 90s 36 hours up started at Skegness to crewe then back to Skegness
Bloody hell that’s a stint! Bet it was great doing it at Crewe back in the 90’s. All the electrics on the passenger stuff as well, brilliant.
Wow! First 12 hours are great Luke, so looking forward to part 2. Really appreciate the better highlighting on the bingo sheet and amazed how much you filled in the first half. Thanks a lot mate, surprisingly only saw maybe a handful more than once over the full 24 hours. Worth the effort with kind words like that, cheers 👍🏻
1st class video again Luke well done
Cheers Kevin 👍🏻
Great stuff again Luke, good variety of workings, and the shots of fast freight trains in the dark looming out of the fog were just spectacular! Thanks for putting yourself through the torture - especially when you have to run up & down stairs! Looking forward to part two!
Great video as always
I've been eagerly waiting for this and I wasn't disappointed...simply brilliant is all I can say. The mix of freight was mind blowing as was switching between low and high level. I can't wait for part 2 😎

Wow Luke what a first part, awesome video as per usual, looks super cool with the lighting & fog, also lols a chilly night too, thanks for sharing, looks super cool forward too part 2, 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks a lot Mark, I was a bit miffed off at the fog at first but soon changed my tune when I saw how cool the shots looked 👍🏻
Thank you Luke for another great video. The night shots in the mist are wonderful.
Thanks Ruth, pretty happy with how those came out I must say, despite the fact the mist absolutely soaked all my stuff through! Haha.
Great video. Love from Tamworth
Thanks very much 👍🏻
great shots from trains running simultaneous on both levels
Cheers David, those were tough to try and catch!
Bloody good stuff mate. 👍👍
Thanks a lot mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice one Luke . Tamworth certainly didn’t disappoint. And what a beautiful sunset it was
Thanks Les, hopefully worth the wait. Very fortunate with the weather (well apart from the fog that soaked all my gear through!)
Great video - giveaway round two 🤞🏻
This going to be great 👍
Bloody brilliant luke it looks so cold that's a long night mate..
Great selection of traffic, thanks for braving the cold
Thanks a lot Bill, weirdly it looked colder than it actually was with all that fog. I did have about 6 layers on mind you 😂
Greetings from the state of New Jersey this is awesome thank you
Technically the Sandite train is Top n Tailed. Which you could have as a Brucie bonus.
This has to be the best one yet Luke bring on part 2
Thanks as always Katrina, part 2 should be out next Friday with a bit of luck 👍🏻
Great video, looking forward for part 2.
Nice one. Saw Flying Dustman at Blea Moor sidings when I did The 3 Peaks. Made me smile as was blowing a bit at the time ! 😊
Super action all the way. Just wonderful. Love your deadication .John
Thanks a lot John, much appreciated.
Fantastic Video Luke
Cheers pal 👍🏻
I enjoyed part one of your video, I bet you were B cold.Kind regards 🚂🚂🚂
Absolutely great to watch Luke, keep it up.
Can't wait for part 2. Over nights are bad enough but 24 hours must be exhausting. Great video though .
Cheers Phil, they’re certainly a long slog, those last 5/6 hours are killer
Great vid Luke, it's certainly a great location.
I foresee ten thousand subscribers very soon, you really deserve it and it's down to your dedication and hard work.
Thanks Lisa that really means a lot. Very grateful that people seem to enjoy this hobby of mine!
I first went to Tamworth in the 50s (yes I'm a dinosaur) and it was so busy and interesting, we had to view from the famous "Field" but wow nothing has changed with the amount and variety of traffic. Always enjoy your videos keeps me up to date, thank you/
It's a brilliant place ive done a 24 hour there a couple of years ago
Looks like a great night
Brilliant once again luke, glad i could join you for the first 2 hours.
Thanks a lot mate, great to see you and thanks for the heads up about the day 👍🏻
MINT VIDEO as per usual, keep up the good work 😊😊😊
Cracking video as it's my home station Tamworth can be very busy. To watch both levels for movements use Railcam maps 👍🏻👌🏻
My home station too . Excellent place.
Damn never thought to check railcam 🤦🏻♂️ wasn’t too bad on opentraintimes though to be honest, only things I missed were on purpose to catch something else.
Must be great to pop down for a couple of hours 👌🏻
@@DiggleJunction The WCML is quite busy on a Saturday too
Yes it was all the sleepers and mail train had a lot of instant coffee cup you just ad water used the shuter cabin at the end of the platform
Well worth the wait Luke, well done
Thanks Sheila, glad you enjoyed it ☺️
another great video , must be hard
Thanks mate, it’s a tough one but worth it 👍🏻
We live in the next village along the line to Lichfield Trent Valley your right it’s constantly through the night on the WCML. New Subscriber. 👍
Cheers Paul, much appreciated. Must be fantastic living so close!
@ it was great seeing them 4 Track it from Tamworth to Armitage spent some hours watching them at Huddlesford very complicated at times
Yet another great video. Good work. Might have to have a ride down from Huddersfield, lots of trains…. As per, please enter me😮
Great video, at least you got some proper double headers this time and not one light engine in the first 12 hours. Roll on next week for part 2.
Thanks mate, hard to believe on the light engine, usually one of the first I get!
Great video Luke. Interesting as always, keep up the good work and thank your wife for letting you out for 24hrs 😂
Another great video 😊
Thanks a lot Chris 👍🏻
Another great video
Cheers Tony 👍🏻
Another brilliant video keep up the good work
Cheers Jonathan 👍🏻
Still want to have a go at a 24hr challenge myself, although I was planning to find a camp spot in Scotland by the train lines (not passed any fences before anyone says) and do 24 hours there.
Love these 24hr videos.
brilliant video
Cheers mate 👍🏻
Mad dedication this...
Fantastic video! There's still 6000 special and 7000 special to do, and soon 8000 special 😂😂😂😂
Haha cheers mate, determined to get caught up asap!
nice video mate 👍
Great content. Not really sure how you manage it. But cheers.
Thanks mate, I’m not quite sure either haha
Tamworth, a fantastic location
Couldn’t agree more 👌🏻
Great vid mate
that 37 ‼️💯
Can’t beat em 👌🏻👌🏻
I saw the engineering train at 5:53 at Stafford
That’s right mate I think it goes round on the circuit up there 👍🏻
I remember whn you started you getting your first 1k was a shock, now you can't keep up!! 10k by Christmas?
Great video. been there quite a few times
I have a dispute your double header as the RHTT train is top and tail NOT double headed, as a double headed train is 2 loco's together, so you messed up your bingo card
keep up the great videos
Cheers John, as I mentioned at the start the bingo sheet is a double header or top n tailed, just couldn’t fit that in the square 👍🏻
Either way it wouldn’t have mattered because there was a double header not too far behind. Even if DIT there were still two locos up front
Is the station not locked out through the small hours then ?
Great video as always but what does the wife think about you being away for 24 hours
Cheers Terry, haha I think she’s just glad she doesn’t have to be there. She did the very first one with me then thought “forget doing that again!”
You’re bang on the money mate, as I mentioned in the intro it’s double header or ‘top n tailed’ but couldn’t fit both in the square.
@DiggleJunction Keep up your excellent videos. My bad, I totally missed that bit.
can you actually do overnighters there? Id love to have a go at doing that there
You sure can mate, all the platforms are left open overnight. Tiring but well worth it 👍🏻
@@DiggleJunction i want to try that next year mate thanks
Have you got a spare UK train map because I haven't got one because I doing a project with it
I don’t sadly mate, I use Traksy/Opentraintimes for my maps. If you search google for rail map online there’s a great comprehensive free map of the uk railways 👍🏻
Why was southbound freight going up on the down fast??
They seem to just use that line for southbound workings overnight when there’s no passenger traffic. Switched back to usual working lines at about 4:30/5:00am. Not quite sure why.
Hi
Hi Callum 👋🏻
Diverse freight?
Mostly containers.
2 or 3 oils a day.
Odd engineers.
I spotted at Tamworth in 1992 when it was worth going .
I’d say it’s about as good as you’re going to get in 2024 sadly. Anywhere along that stretch in the 90’s would have been in another league.
👌⭐️🦺
a simple question have you got a partner and children yes or no seeing as you spend a hell of your time as a train enthusiast?
Haha I have a very understanding wife and no children yet so doing it whilst I can!
First clip was not a double header 😂 Great video Luke 👍
Double-Header or Top n Tail whichever comes first said in the intro 😂 I’ll take what I can get mate lol.
@DiggleJunction ah sorry I must have missed that bit lol 😆
now go jump in your car and get a coffee and a warm up
Those heaters were on full blast all the way home mate haha.
The rhtt train isnt an engineers train
Great video as usual
Cheers David 👍🏻
