THIS JUST IN! To my friends and longtime subscribers, you’ve witnessed my journey with Dyson from being their biggest fan to recently getting invited to their tech campus in Malmesbury, UK to get a first look at this new innovation and I feel very honoured, humbled, and grateful to you for help ting to get me here. Can they come up with a real tool for really curly frizzy hair.. ive been waiting to see if they take on the revlon blow dryer brush and make it better because the one that comes with the airwrap is a joke.
I LOVE how thorough you are with this review in every aspect. And letting us fellow curlies know how it holds up during the evening and the next morning is SO helpful and I really appreciate the quality (and entertainment value) of this review! Thanks Mel!! 😊❤😊❤
Thank you for still giving an honest review after partnering with Dyson! I’m not very impressed with the product but I just don’t think I’m in the target market. I’m hoping they come out with something more like an airwrap for coarse/curly hair that will actually work for us!
Agreed, I think companies would make so much more money if they for once make a multi tool ( or even individual tools)specifically catering to the needs of curly/coarse hair textures because it's annoying to always have to take extra steps and figure out how to make something designed for looser textures work for mine
I mean, nothing right now can really achieve what you want besides *more* heat. A big marketing point is their minimal damage. You’re gonna have to come in with a flat iron for anything flatter and sleeker.
@gummy5862 I don't think that's true. There's definitely other things that can be done to make tools better for curly hair. For example most people with tighter curl patterns need some kind of tension from a comb or brush as they're straightening their hair to get it smooth. For me personally that's the key to getting it sleeker not more heat. If companies created flat irons with curls in mind we would see more flat irons with teeth built into them to create the tension for us and there's a ton of other changes I could think of that could be made if they wanted to cater to curly hair. Also i think at the end of the day women use hair tools because we want to enhance our looks a bit more and feel good about our hair and a lot of people turn to straightening and smoothing tools because it's the easier option to choose. However if their were tools created to enhance natural curls to look even better in a quicker time they might choose that. So for me personally when I say I'd like a tool for curly hair sleek and straight isn't necessarily the only goal.
They had flatirons with slightly grippy teeth in the plates in the 80s. As a curly girl with extremely porous hair, I definitely say avoid tools like them, as it tore the crap out of my hair, yet they still make them. Even the modern ones with brushy bits on the outside edges and flatiron inside tore at my hair. The only flatiron that didn't, looked like a flattened curling iron, but was absolute rubbish on wet hair. I'm trying to recover my curls after decades of straightening it by various means, and an ill-advised attempt at Curly Girl method making my hair the unhealthiest it had ever been. I falter every now and again, and repurchase a flatiron, and this tool tempts me. Ultimately, I need to know if I permanently destroyed my curls after decades of being bullied and shamed for them, so I'm trying to go a year solid without blowouts or straightening to see what curl I have left.
My husband just walked past me watching this and said, “Why would she straighten her hair?? Her curls are so nice!” 🥺 You look SO GORG with both curly and straight hair!
I don't like the way this finishes the hair...on anyone. Don't get me wrong I'm super happy you were included in the Dyson experience. Very cool. I've spent years figuring out how to love my wavy Irish hair and this thing makes it look like when I hated it from blow drying. Too poofy.
Totally!! I have wavy and thick hair and O have to return the dyson airwrap because of this.. puffy in all of the attachments, and I see the same result here, it might be the 'air' that makes it puffy for some of us..
I am a curly girl who blow drys semi smooth and then curls her hair with big curls. This air straightener seems like it will be a game changer for prepping my hair with minimal damage before going in with my curling iron. It’ll also help my curls last longer by smoothing my cuticle more before curling. Will definitely be purchasing.
@@NafZ I would rather wait for Shark to do it. I have seen several dupes and straight up fakes from China, they are not very good. I bought a few and none of them keep the curls or dry as fast. I would rather buy normal hair tools from Korea such as Vodana than waste money on the dupes.
Thank u! I think a lot of people are assuming this will replace a straightener…but it doesn’t…it just combines two steps, stretching and drying…NOT straightening and drying. I have the same process to straighten my hair, i either curl with a curling iron or use the tymo straightening comb, i think this drier with those two tools will result in sleeker styling with less direct heat damage. Your comment was well said!
The end result and the time it took doesn’t really sell it for me. Seems like Dyson didn’t really solve a problem, just created a new one - how to have this new type of hair straightening tech but in 5 years it will be better, maybe.
It really doesn't take that long, she's doing a demo. The end results are actually a lot better also. 60 day money back guarantee if you don't love it.
I got it despite of some controversial reviews and I’m very happy I did it. My hair is curly and I have very bad sinus, during winter in Toronto I get sinus when my hair is damp or wet. Curly hair needs extra care and hair to be curly. I already own the air wrap and used the brush to straighten my hair until I bough this and is a game changer ! I totally love !
As someone who is terrible at doing a blowout on myself, this seems like it would be a great option (I would still probably do a quick pass with a regular straightener to give the shape I want), but I can't fathom a world in which I could spend almost a months rent on a hair tool
Thank you so much for showing how it works with three different types of hair! I usually see these products on already minimal wavy/straight so it’s more difficult to envision on my hair. Thanks Mel!
I saw another RUclipsr who was able to turn in her ends by turning her wrist down at the bottom. I imagine you could flip the ends up using this tool as well.
I cannot tell you how excited I am about this video!! I haven't straightened my hair in SO long, simply because it takes forever and my hair always feels damaged afterwards. This tool sounds like it is going to be a gamechanger and I'm here for it! I love the idea of being able to switch between curly and straight without stressin' out my tresses...thanks, Mel, have a great weekend!! 😘
@@cfoster6804 I work with companies that pay me to give my opinion on things.. could be anything from hair products to medications. So a lot of times I get to see products that aren’t on the market yet. It’s a lot of fun!
Interesting tool. I got excited when I saw that the air flow was directed downward. That's where companies making blow dry brushes have failed. The air just blows outward which leaves my hair frizzy instead of sleek. It's just disappointing that after all of that technology, innovation, and testing, Dyson didn't bother to create one setting that could have worked better on coily hair. Fortunately I can still get my hair as smooth as yours with my regular blow dryer and boar bristle brush.
Yeah I'm hoping the revair eventually has a little more heat or something because this dyson not giving straight and taking just as long seems not great. While my revair gets my butt length hair done in less time and I just need a few sloppy passes with a straightner if I want sleek with body
@@pikachu7572the idea of this tool is also not to damage your hair as much as using a regular straightener, which is usually 400 degrees or more. What I don’t understand is why it take them so long when they’re only doing 2-4 passes to dry each section of hair. It might be all the back and forth when switching settings, but I can see myself doing this faster unless is not really drying the hair in 2-4 passes.
@@roselynmvm You def shouldn't be straightening at 400 degrees wtf unless it's for like a Brazilian blowout type treatment. But that's what I'm saying, the revair has been on the market for years. No heat or very little heat. Also uses no tension at all compared to this one. And if you want slightly straighter results, literally 5-6 strands very sloppily straightened with a flat iron is all I need. Also I do my entire head of very long hair in half an hour. The only reason I brought up more heat is sometimes you want more than the blow dryer look especially if you have tighter curls/kinks. I would argue this product might even be useless on kinks (not at all similar results as blow drying) but that's just from this video
I just tried the airstrait for the first time, and I like it so far! It's super interesting to use this on combination wavy hair (it ranges from 2A to practically 3) - I found that I had to use different techniques for the different sections of my hair. My loosest waves didn't need dry mode at all, while the curlier parts did need that boost and cold shot.
I have both the Dyson Airwrap and Corrale. If I didn’t have those, I would think about buying the Airstrait. The time it takes and the fact that the only option is stick-straight hair are considerable downsides to me.
Girl! A lot of respect to keep this a secret😂 It looks amazing! If I could afford it, i would buy it! I Don’t like to give feedback or be negative, because I still love you and loveeee your content. But I feel like these things are not targeted for the middle class people in Europe at least. I miss the more affordable things. In general I feel like on youtube the focus is more on expensive stuff. But anyway, i loveee the idea and the product. If I could, I would buy it to straighten my hair for events, parties etc ;) and the results on your mom is wooow. The shine is amazing😍 Still love you both and your content! Can’t wait for the next texture thursday. Please don’t get me wrong. I’m super grateful of you educating us! And super proud on how you both grew these years ❤️
Thank you for this video. You seem like a very honest person, and reviewer. I just heard about this tool. I do not understand how I didn't hear about it before now. I bought a Dyson tool once, and returned it asap...it didn't work for me, and it was so expensive. Which if it had worked then I would have been totally cool with it. Anyway, I have very thick, coarse frizzy, wavey and curly color treated hair. I grew up in the 1960's and 70's. My hair was a nightmare! When people would say how lucky I was to have my kind of hair I wanted to say, you have no idea what your saying. All my friends had long straight smooth hair and I wanted to have their kind of hair. There were just no hair products back then that would help with my frizz at all. So my mom would braid it. That was really the only way I could wear it. I am a white girl, and I begged my mom to take me to a black hair salon. I thought if they can get their hair straight, why couldn't I. So we go to one of their salons, and the lady that owned it told me, that even though my hair looked like their's it would end up breaking off if she used a relaxer on my hair. But I wanted to try it anyway. She was absolutely right though. So, I had a very short pixie haircut. It was awful. So, decades later when keratin treatments came out, I was first in line, OMG I was on cloud 9!! Everyone kept saying your hair is beautiful.❤️ I was so happy with the results. I still get two a year now. Of course there are so many hair products available now, and that helps a lot. Now I don't hate my hair.🤗
You sound like you are talking about me and my hair! Did you ever try the Dyson wet to dry tool? If you did, how well did it work? So interested in your response!
This seems like the answer to all of my hair problems! It does make me think of the Wet 2 Straight styler I had in middle school though - just the high tech version 😄
I’d still be tempted to use a brush/comb when using on 3bc/4abc hair because you really do need to pull each hair strand while drying to achieve straight hair. It’s not just air flow that gets hair straight but it’s traction too. The hair has got to be pulled straight before air passed it. It’s innovative for sure but maybe a slim brush type of attachment to clip onto it would be good. I think for straight haired/loose wavy girlies this will be a good product
I've got other tools that will do the same thing for 1/10 of the price. So if I have to do this then flat iron and curl it's a hard pass for me. Dyson needs to start with the tightest of coils and then engineer backwards. But instead they try to figure it out after the fact. They're missing an entire market by not doing that. And we all know black women willingly invest more in beauty products. It's very disappointing. My hair would look like her hair at the end. For $500 I need to look like I left the salon. 🙅🏽♀️
I have a new respect for you lovely curlies after watching your video. Your whole family (Momma, sister, and you) were blessed with lovely curly hair, why you want it straight I don't understand. However, I have straight and want curly so I guess I understand on some level. If I had to take 45 mins to an hour to straighten my hair that would never happen, bless you all! lol Great video!
I think it looks great on your mom but on curly hair, I still think you have to add curls or something to make it look done. I personally don’t like fluffy “straight” hair and I have 3B curls
I'm happy for you Mel, it's great to see you're getting the best results with this device. I personally prefer a round brush look finish & I'm also put off by the Dyson prices 😮. I'm happy with my rotary hot air brush for 50€
The only thing I like about the Dyson blow drier is the size due to my shoulder arthritis. Fortunately, I found something 1/10 of its price that works perfectly.
I feel like it took too many passes for the tight curls on Coily cammy to be straightish like the other results .. I need to see it on more tighter curls like so called 3c to 4c hair … idk if this product was meant to target tighter curls forreal .. the tighter curl girlies might as well stick with revair ..,but it looks cool
Hot damn, I wish this tool existed when I was a teen and frying my hair daily with straighteners. Veeery tempted to buy, even though I love my waves, I enjoy wearing it straight every now and then and I’d love a tool that didn’t do a lot of damage.
as a wavy and frizzy hair person i return it to dyson. it makes my hair loose all the moister and hair try to get the moister back from air so my hair gone puffy in half an hour... after using wet setting and dry setting back to back. then i used dry setting again and it stayed kinda straigh but puffy. i know how tou use a professional blow dry with brush and results arent even compareble i was devestated because i had high hopes
Hi! I am so thankful I found you!! I am in my 50’s and have curly hair like yours. Except I don’t have my hair dry cut.🤪 My question is this- should I buy the air straight and use another tool to put a curl when wanted OR is the Dyson air wrap better. I get highlights in the summer so I am trying to be heat conscious. Thank you for any help!!!
But how did the styles hold up for you and Amanda and your mom? I can get my hair professionally blown out and it looks great immediately after, but if hot tools aren’t used on it also, the blow out will poof out and get frizzy an hour later. If I use a straightener on my curly hair, it will stay straight for multiple days.
I'm the same, I never go for professional blow out because they just don't use enough heat, within an hour it's a bouffant. When I blow dry at home I make sure I use a high wattage (2000W+) blow drier, blow dry with tension, and then I don't need a flat iron. I could never use a travel hair dryer for example. I've learned to straighten my 3c hair in 25min, when straight it's almost down to my waist.
Thank you so much for this!!! I currently need to straighten my hair during the summers because my curls get messed up every time I put my motorcycle helmet on. I'm currently working on creating something with satin that will allow my curls to slip into and out of my helmet without creating too much frizz. This will help me tremendously until I finish that project. I love this video and this product. You just made my whole summer ❤️. I will admit I usually make my hair a little straighter and create a curl using the flat iron when I straighten it, but I realize this is their first one. This is a great starting point and I can't wait to see what they have in store for the future! I can't wait till your next video 😊 thank you Dyson for inviting my favorite curly hair teacher to your awesome reveal event! 😁
Could you wear a satin cap/ bonnet underneath the motorcycle helmet for now (maybe one with a tie closure over the elasticated band to help secure it)?
This looks amazing, but I hate that you can't put any sort of bend into your hair with this. When I do straighten my hair I don't like the way it looks stick straight all the way to the end. I like when my ends slightly bend under.
I’m an eye doctor/happy to share my expertise. Thank you for yours! Eyelid twitching (myokymia) is caused by stress, lack of sleep, too much/little caffeine, etc. If it doesn’t resolve, see an eye doctor-it’s common and typically not concerning. If you’re actually blinking/winking uncontrollably (blepharospasm) it’s more concerning and should be evaluated.
I tried to love the Dyson tools I really did! I love my hair and wants the best for it that’s why I invested in one 😹 But sadly, the airwrap that costed me 600€ and is not even doing the job. I use my normal hairdryer to do pretty blow dries 😢
The corrale is even worst! I had a nightmare with my hair. My husband got for me for Xmas and the very first day melted the plates. They replaced 3 times and had to battle with blood and tears to get a refund!
@@SwanTheQueen Truly understand your pain😔 I bought two airwraps (one for my daughter and one for myself) and neither of us can stand it. The 1200w does nothing for us and we should have returned it but we thought we'd give it a chance. Neither of us are into curls and straight blow drying only lasts 30 mins before the waves come back. The heat is way too low! Complete waste of $$
Thank you for this review. It definitely dries voluminous as you mention. I prefer a flatter look on me and would need to use a flat iron and oil products afterwards to keep my hair tame throughout the course of the day! However, (minus the expense), this product looks like a good prepping tool for curly haired people who struggle with blow drying their own hair before they move on to the next steps (i.e. flat iron, hot curlers, etc). Just wish it wasn't so expensive.
I wish I could afford dyson 😅 this looks amazing though and I loved seeing the results on all the different textures. I can't wait to see more curly and coily girls testing it out.
Same. She doesn't know anyone in real life with coily hair? That's disappointing and revealing. I'm sure there are subscribers that would have volunteered. It's not even close to the same bc those mannequins have 1a hair that's just been curled. Not a very good representation. Her hair texture is closer to my own but I literally came here for the coily demonstration bc I've got other people to think of when buying this. 👎🏽
Are you surprised? She often uses her sister’s hair as a demo for curly even though her hair is damn near a wave (2c with some 3a if manipulated) But we’re thinking the same thing, couldn’t put any effort for the type 4 girls huh? It’s been like this for a while sadly.
If you do a RUclips search for Dyson Airstraight there are a bunch of shorts with women type 4+ testing it out. Edit: there are also full videos with women with type 4+ hair.
@@mavendncPost #2: JaiChanellie did a review on the Revlon. She wasn’t impressed. Added that those combs in the straightener…you have to make sure your hair is COMPLETELY de-tangled or it’s going to get caught on the combs.
This is a GAME CHANGING blow drying /straightening tool for those with of us with more challenging hair! Thank the stars for your review because Dyson has nothing helpful on their website and for the price I might have returned it had you not shown me how to do it! THANK YOU!
Okay, Dyson! I see you! I'm impressed with this tool, tbh, and think it's a nice step towards providing the ability to make a variety of styles with less damage. Pretty cool! It does better than I could do with a blowout, with less effort, which is nice, but since I'd still want to go in with a straightener to finish the look off, this wouldn't make sense for me to invest in. But that makes sense - as you say, this is an investment (because... $$$!) that makes more sense for people like your mom who can achieve their end product with it as a one and done! My sister wears her hair more straight, so this might be an option she would like. My mom has straight hair, but this _might_ be something she would also use to replace her blowout routine... I loveeee your no nonsense, realistic review of this (expect nothing less from you and Amanda!), and some comparison shots you include to your typical end result for straight styling with different tools. I'm glad you did a video on this!
Ok I definitely want to try this one... Do I have all the other Dyson hair tools, a RevAir, and a GHD straightener? Yes. Do I need more? No. Will I get more? 🤣🤣
The next time I get my hair done at the salon will be the telltale. Healthy airflow to dry then a bit of tweaking the ends vs flat iron cookin root to ends!! I can’t wait to use!!
I want to order it and although I still think I’ll use my flat iron a little bit on the ends or just to really smooth it out that’s a hell of a lot better than using a blow dryer AND hair straightener!!
Hi thanks for the honest review. I purchased it but was not very happy with the end result. Straightening didn’t last longer. I had to use my dafni brush every time to keep my hair straight for ever. Not happy with airstrait 😢
Very interesting! So it wouldn't work as well, for example, if you sectioned off your hair (half up half down) and then dried everything twice on dry mode, then went back over everything on boost, them again with cool? Wondering because it would save a lot of switching between modes for each strand.
I was so excited to see you use this, I had very high hopes for this product. Sadly it’s a no for me! It did a great job smoothing your hair but omg having to stop to mess with the buttons every piece of hair was killing me. I feel like that would be more time consuming 😢
I was thinking the same. Personally, I typically do my hair in quarters and then smaller pieces per quarter. So for this I’d do the full quarter with one setting, then change to the next setting, and so on. Changing the settings by quarter rather than per piece. Does that make sense?
I was looking at my day not wanting to do a whole wash day, but needing to wash my hair. Can you do a "eh, good enough" wash day? Good for sick days and lazy days. Your method is so easy, but sometimes it's still too much. Thank you!
I think you need to finish your hair with a flat iron. It looks poofy, dry, and brittle. Can you do a comparison with the ghd duet style. The duet style actually has a flat iron integrated.
Of course I prefer curly! I think you could prep your straight style by straightening it before bed, wearing a bun or a braid, and then wearing the style in the morning as your intended style. With a bit of wave it makes it look more natural and hides the layers.
I love that they actually included a curly girl im the campaign. I'm usually like well hmm does it work for me? I currently use the airwrap with the roundbrush attachement and a ghd to get a straight look. I'm the thin, damaged, bleached to death, oh my hair is curly that's why it always looks like a mess hairtype. Wished I was the use just shampoo and sleep on it to dry and get beautiful curls hairtype like my boyfriend 😢
Looking forward to trying this when it launches in Australia. I love the straightening attachment for the airwrap and supersonic, two devices I love! The corale straightener I find meh. Hoping the AirStraight would work on my fine wavy hair without flattening it too much.
Thanks for the detailed review! I’m curious how it works on 2B coarse low porosity hair. 2 hours of normal blow drying and my hair is still damp. It takes 24+ hours to air dry when loose, and 2 full days if it’s braided or in any kind of updo. So I gave up on blow dryers ages ago. It was never worth the time for me. Wondering if this would be any different since it seems like a more complex and miniature version of their hand dryers. 🤔 Btw, not sure if this is the same case for you or not, but I get eye twitches when I’ve got too many things going on. Even if I don’t feel stressed, well my eye twitches tell me otherwise, lol. I used to get them without fail during finals week every semester of school. So maybe you just need some time to relax and unwind?
I really like that it’s one tool and I wouldn’t have to use a brush and blow dryer. Unlike a professional, I’m not great at blowing my hair straight using two hands even with sectioning , serums etc.
I wish I had looked at the price BEFORE I watched the video 😭Oh well, it's great to know that this product exists. Your results looked awesome, but that next day look? WOW. Maybe I'll save up and treat myself on my birthday in like...5 years.
One thing I noticed about Mell's hair in particular is that it is quite coarse and naturally dry. Not that there's anything wrong with it. Some people's textured IS harder to get straighter than others. Just because it doesn't work on her hair DOESN'T mean it's not gonna work for you.

I have the same process to straighten my hair, i either curl with a curling iron or use the tymo straightening comb, i think this drier with those two tools will result in sleeker styling with less direct heat damage. Your comment was well said!
update!!
I am so thankful for this video. Now I know I am definitely not missing out 😊
Right? Another expensive device we don’t need
The end result and the time it took doesn’t really sell it for me. Seems like Dyson didn’t really solve a problem, just created a new one - how to have this new type of hair straightening tech but in 5 years it will be better, maybe.
The ends look awful and the end result too poofy.
And it’s PRICEY !!! $500 !!!!
It really doesn't take that long, she's doing a demo. The end results are actually a lot better also. 60 day money back guarantee if you don't love it.
It is worth every penny! Some stores will give you a discount if you open credit, I got $100 off of mine and wouldn't go back.@@J_loves_lu
I have thick, long hair, it took me 20mins. I only do wet mode.
Shout out to mumsey for slaying her tutorial
Slayed and I promise I’ll slay that regrowth soon mom xoxo
I got it despite of some controversial reviews and I’m very happy I did it. My hair is curly and I have very bad sinus, during winter in Toronto I get sinus when my hair is damp or wet. Curly hair needs extra care and hair to be curly. I already own the air wrap and used the brush to straighten my hair until I bough this and is a game changer ! I totally love !
Thank you for your comment. I too get sinus in Toronto winter with wet hair, so looks useful to me.
Do you have any feedback after 9 months of using ?
This is incredible! My 13-year-old self (who used a steam straightener 🤦🏼♀️) never could’ve imagined.
As someone who is terrible at doing a blowout on myself, this seems like it would be a great option (I would still probably do a quick pass with a regular straightener to give the shape I want), but I can't fathom a world in which I could spend almost a months rent on a hair tool
WE HAVE BEEN DYING TO SHARE MORE ABOUT THIS… hope u enjoy ❤
Thank you so much for showing how it works with three different types of hair! I usually see these products on already minimal wavy/straight so it’s more difficult to envision on my hair.
Thanks Mel!
it's interesting, but I feel like the ends don't look great on any of them... I'd have to go back in with an iron on the ends.
I agree. But the result is still way less frizzy than regular hair dryer though
That’s usually because curly hair is cut a different way to straight hair , a little trim then a soft Bend on the ends will make it look polished x
I saw another RUclipsr who was able to turn in her ends by turning her wrist down at the bottom. I imagine you could flip the ends up using this tool as well.
OMG! JUST ORDERED IT FOR MY MOTHER'S DAY GIFT TO ME!!! CAN'T WAIT TILL IT ARRIVES! THANK YOU !
I love my curls, thanks to your video's, but I do love a good straight style now and then !
ok.. just tried it! WOWZA! NEVER HAS MY HAIR BEEN THIS STRAIGHT!!!!! FANTASTIC ! NICE CHANGE FROM MY CURLS... THANK YOU MELL, THIS IS WONDERFUL !
Your morning check-in look was everythingggg 😍
I cannot tell you how excited I am about this video!! I haven't straightened my hair in SO long, simply because it takes forever and my hair always feels damaged afterwards. This tool sounds like it is going to be a gamechanger and I'm here for it! I love the idea of being able to switch between curly and straight without stressin' out my tresses...thanks, Mel, have a great weekend!! 😘
Doesn’t the regular Dyson with the brush straighten too?
I literally gasped when I saw Mel's hair- HER HAIR LOOKS SO SMOOTH AND SILKY-
I used to straighten my hair with the blow dryer a couple of years ago, and girl, you testing this new dryer gave me a nostalgic feeling
I did testing for the airwrap 2 years before it was released and i thought it was the coolest most unbelievable thing I had ever seen! 🥰
How'd you get that gig?
Agreed! I'm so glad she showed it on the mannequin because It would've been a very disappointing buy otherwise
@@deenz718 the Airwrap left with the most awful frizzy hair...this will be no different! Hair straighteners all the way.....GHD'S!
You two look great with both straight and curly/wavy hair. You really have the facial structure for both styles. Love you guys!
This is by far the best straightener you've tried on your hair, I love this product ❤
Your hair came out great! Thank you for sharing it with us. I loved seeing the different hair types using this tool.
Wow this might be a game changer along with the revair and heated styling brushes
The shine is amazing😍
Still love you both and your content!
It does make me think of the Wet 2 Straight styler I had in middle school though - just the high tech version 😄
ok i need this, waiting for shark to release the dupe in 5 years
I’d still be tempted to use a brush/comb when using on 3bc/4abc hair because you really do need to pull each hair strand while drying to achieve straight hair. It’s not just air flow that gets hair straight but it’s traction too. The hair has got to be pulled straight before air passed it. It’s innovative for sure but maybe a slim brush type of attachment to clip onto it would be good. I think for straight haired/loose wavy girlies this will be a good product
Right..if this has a comb within I will ordered for sure.
This is the straightener I've been waiting for ❤ so excited for you getting to visit their tech campus!
Girls, you all have amazing hair! This tool is perfect for your mom!
I think it looks great on your mom but on curly hair, I still think you have to add curls or something to make it look done. I personally don’t like fluffy “straight” hair and I have 3B curls
Omg, I have been waiting for this to come out. Thank you so much for this amazing review ❤😊
This is so exciting!! Im glad you seesters are able to get up clos first looks at products youve worked with for so long!! Such a great moment ❤️
Literally love your channel & wait patiently every week
This is really innovative. I just got my Dyson Supersonic dryer and love it!
I'm happy for you Mel, it's great to see you're getting the best results with this device.
I personally prefer a round brush look finish & I'm also put off by the Dyson prices 😮.
I'm happy with my rotary hot air brush for 50€
I have them and they are not worth the price tag stick to your brush.
Right, I want to see a real type 4 person using it and to hear their experience. A mannequin doesn’t cut it.
Honestly nothing on the market to date beats the Revair for coily hair.
@@cfoster6804 agreed
Hot damn, I wish this tool existed when I was a teen and frying my hair daily with straighteners. Veeery tempted to buy, even though I love my waves, I enjoy wearing it straight every now and then and I’d love a tool that didn’t do a lot of damage.
Haha 😂 sameeee but the 500 dollar price tag would have not been affordable for me as a teen ANYWAY 😅
@@skittles1624 Truth 😂
I wish you showed the final results of Texture Tammy
as a wavy and frizzy hair person i return it to dyson. it makes my hair loose all the moister and hair try to get the moister back from air so my hair gone puffy in half an hour... after using wet setting and dry setting back to back. then i used dry setting again and it stayed kinda straigh but puffy. i know how tou use a professional blow dry with brush and results arent even compareble i was devestated because i had high hopes
Hi! I am so thankful I found you!! I am in my 50’s and have curly hair like yours. Except I don’t have my hair dry cut.🤪
My question is this- should I buy the air straight and use another tool to put a curl when wanted OR is the Dyson air wrap better.
The AirWrap smoothing brush attachment does the same in a way shorter time. It takes me 10-15 minutes to dry and straighten my 2C/3A hair.
Exactly! Is what I use! Was wondering how this compares to that!

Complete waste of $$
Yeah every Dyson tool I tried sucked. Supersonic and Corrale.
All you ladies have beautiful hair, BUT your mom’s hair is the best with straight hair! Mel, you and your sister rock your curls!!! Stay curly!!! 🥰
I wish I could afford dyson 😅 this looks amazing though and I loved seeing the results on all the different textures. I can't wait to see more curly and coily girls testing it out.
I’ve watched your channel for a long time I have never seen it so smooth lol that’s crazy!!
I loved your mom’s result the best and that’s my hair type. Excited to try this.
Just bought mine!!!! So excited!
Great review ,love the results on you and your family, the hair looks amazing on you Bella ladies 💖😎
Plz, share some coily routines for high porosity coils!
Yes yes yes! We shall soon ❤❤
The test on coily hair was beyond disappointing one section on a manequin with 4A hair told me nothing
THANK YOU!
I LOVE your hair! Actually, I love your hair done with this straightener. I have fine straight hair but, I love watching these videos.
love the way you think, cause me too! 😂 give me all the tools.
My eye twitches when I’m anxious! 😮
Hi thanks for the honest review. I purchased it but was not very happy with the end result. Straightening didn’t last longer. I had to use my dafni brush every time to keep my hair straight for ever.
Not happy with airstrait 😢
Great video! I am so impressed! My hair doesn’t get smooth either ! 🎉 thanks for sharing the evening and morning after! It held up so well !!
Oh my I've never seen your hair Mel look sooo smooth! Shocked. Looking gorgeous ladies ❤
Very interesting! So it wouldn't work as well, for example, if you sectioned off your hair (half up half down) and then dried everything twice on dry mode, then went back over everything on boost, them again with cool? Wondering because it would save a lot of switching between modes for each strand.
I wondered the same…. I Ordered my airstrait and will get back to ya!
Can’t wait to get it . I have thick curly hair and want to know how to get rid of my frizz on top of my hair . I have tried everything. Any tips ?
I was so excited to see you use this, I had very high hopes for this product. Sadly it’s a no for me! It did a great job smoothing your hair but omg having to stop to mess with the buttons every piece of hair was killing me. I feel like that would be more time consuming 😢
I was thinking the same. Personally, I typically do my hair in quarters and then smaller pieces per quarter. So for this I’d do the full quarter with one setting, then change to the next setting, and so on. Changing the settings by quarter rather than per piece. Does that make sense?
@@checksanity I would definitely do it that way too!
I don't need it but damn I'd love to have it...
I was looking at my day not wanting to do a whole wash day, but needing to wash my hair. Can you do a "eh, good enough" wash day? Good for sick days and lazy days. Your method is so easy, but sometimes it's still too much. Thank you!
I want the airstrait! I loved your video AND btw your skin looks so beautiful! Do you ever talk about your skincare/makeup routine? Thank you!!
Your mom's hair result was beautiful 😍
Finally more options for curly hair to straighten!!! Love dyson ❤
omg THE FUTURE IS NOW!!! I really want to try this!
It will take a year to arrive in OZ lolol corrale sucks I agree ☝️
Does it work with Adapters from 220 V to 110?
This was helpful! What products did you use to get your hair and your mom's hair so shiny?
Thanks for the detailed review! I’m curious how it works on 2B coarse low porosity hair. 2 hours of normal blow drying and my hair is still damp. It takes 24+ hours to air dry when loose, and 2 full days if it’s braided or in any kind of updo. So I gave up on blow dryers ages ago. It was never worth the time for me. Wondering if this would be any different since it seems like a more complex and miniature version of their hand dryers. 🤔
Btw, not sure if this is the same case for you or not, but I get eye twitches when I’ve got too many things going on. Even if I don’t feel stressed, well my eye twitches tell me otherwise, lol. I used to get them without fail during finals week every semester of school. So maybe you just need some time to relax and unwind?
This is amazing!! Enjoy your trip ❤️
I'm so excited to try this once it drops in the UK. Also, you and your family are all so beautiful!
Regret clicking on this video because now I need it!!! 😂😂 thanks for your amazing videos Mel!
Eye twitch comes from either exhaustion, too much caffeine or not enough minerals. Do u take vitamins?
So perfectly explained. thank you.
You both look gorgeous either way! You’re so lucky!! If I could afford it, I would buy it in a heartbeat, looks fantastic!!
I really like that it’s one tool and I wouldn’t have to use a brush and blow dryer. Unlike a professional, I’m not great at blowing my hair straight using two hands even with sectioning , serums etc.
New subscriber bc this video absolutely won me over. such a thorough and informative review. Thank you!
What kind of heat protection products do you use on your hair? I loved your tutorial
“…because my hair can take it…”
