- Hi guys! I was inspired to make this video after seeing frequent post in different groups I belong to of people asking if their bag was defective or if something they noticed was normal. I’ve included some common questions I’ve seen and some common defects.

Thank you, Laura for mentioning the air pocket. I was really concerned with mine after feeling an air pocket, so I messaged my SA. She said classic flaps are expected to have it to preserve the bottom base of the bag so it doesn't sag. When I press down on the air pocket there's a small gap between the interior and bottom, so this checks out. Good to hear that it becomes more taut as it's used.

I’m sure it’s not a defect but one thing that drives me crazy is the chain twisting. The links don’t all lie flat like they’re supposed to 🤦🏽♀️
For some bags from some seasons, it is actually an issue where the twisting is really bad. I haven’t had that issue with my bags.

Wished I watched this before I bought my Chanel mini flap 23C at BH Miami. The chain is twisted and left an extra piece of strap sticking out. I didn’t check in the boutique when I bought it becuz the SA said she got a brand new one for me after I tried on the store demo. Now I got to take it back for service becuz the color is no longer available 🥲

What kind of sound? Like of the metal links touching each other?
I just purchased a white Chanel classic flap small a few months ago I paid almost 9k and I just noticed that I can’t fully open the bag or else it creases horrible like the picture you showed. I am worried about the future of this bag, Is there something that can be done to fix/ prevent this? Please let me know thank you. Loved this video!
Thanks for watching Angie! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. The only thing you can do really is to open the bag gently and not open the flap as far as it goes so that the bag creases less. Some creasing may be inevitable over time. If you’re within the return window, you may consider returning it or exchanging it for a bag that doesn’t have the issue.
Hi!! I just bought a vintage chanel classic flap and am kind of worried about the lock. When I twist the lock it makes a small sound, like you can hear the coil twist/ go up and down. Is this normal?

Hi Laura, i recently got the M/L classic flap GHW, can i please ask if the gold chain color supposed to be match with the CC gold color? When i put the chain next to the CC, the chain looks more gold compared to the CC, i tried to search for the same topic online but i dont find anything. Getting my first chanel was so stressful after going back and forth to the store multiple times with 2 time exchanges as every bag seemed have different problem😅

My channel bag has been used 4 times and I’ve had it for a year and the bottom of it has black markings. Not from color transfer. When I wipe it or tried to clean it it’s gets more black marks. Is this defective?
My advice would be to take it into the boutique. It’s hard to say what it could be without seeing it or knowing what it’s being wiped with, etc. I hope they can help 💕
