- Warm Audio WA-67 Microphone Preview Is it a close replica of a Neumann. You tell me what you think because Warm Audio is known for releasing quality studio products to all studios. Professional, Project, and home studios now have access to a soon to be released quality mic that has great components inside. But when it comes down to it here's what most users want to know. Is the Warm Audio WA-67 good for Hip Hop vocals or is the Warm Audio good for vocals. I would be remiss if I forgot to mention an upcoming mic shootout between the Warm Audio WA-67 and my WA-87. Hey Warren, I have to say, respectfully, that this is the one video I did not enjoy. It felt like it was a commercial for Warm Audio. Yes, I agree, their products are superior to the competition in that price range, BUT, how can you give an honest review of a product that you, yourself, have not actually tested. I would prefer to watch a video of you actually testing the WA-67 and giving an honest review. That being said, I still enjoy your videos,, Keep up the great work! :)
Hey thanks for your honest assessment. I appreciate it. However, The video is titled PREVIEW and not REVIEW. I’m giving viewers, like yourself a heads up as to what's happening in the market that I feel DESERVES attention. This product does for personal (having used one in my professional life) and technical reasons. But above all, Warm is a company I’ve personally dialoged with that is COMMITTED to developing the best products for the small guy... and I love the underdog. I could go out, buy and review a reiussed '67. But, why should I? It's expensive. Who would that be serving? Certainly not my viewers because most have bedroom studios. Hope that explains a few things. A review is on the way. Thanks again for your honest and respectful feedback.✌🏾
@@WarrenHenry Thanks for clarifying, I personally love what Warm Audio is doing so I'm looking forward to your review.
@@WarrenHenry I'm not saying it's worth your money or your time, but it would be useful for us if you did shoot it out against a real 67 or a re-issued one because it gives a feel for the quality expected.
Can’t wait to hear your review on this mic 🙏🏾
Thanks for watching. Soon to come✌🏾
According to another RUclips reviewer it pretty much sounds just like the original. And recommended. I might eventually get it
Good morning Warren, thank you for sharing. I was just researching their new WA87r2. Please disregard the first message it sent before I was finished typing. I promise you this, that WA-67 will be mine. I have been waiting to purchase my first tube mic and now I picked one. Thank you again brother.
Most definitely. Thanks for watching ✌🏾
yo bro. always a pleasure to watch. No over hyped BS on this channel for sure. Cheers from New Zealand....
Andy! My brother thanks for watching and sending love from "Down Under" I appreciate you🙏🏾
thanks to you I have bought my first preamp! the tb12 tone beast black! a power conditioner, mogami cables, and avantone active mixcubes! andthis mic sound absolutely amazing and I will be upgrading my Audito Technica AT2020 microphone to the WA67! now I just need to figure if I need to upgrade my audio interface and if I'm going to switch to PC or upgrade my mac mini to the new apple silicon m1 chips
Thanks for watching. Got a new video dropping tomorrow that should answer your questions 👍🏾✌🏽
Howdy Warren. I have and AKG c214 , running through and Audient ID44 , with its built-in pre's bypassed by my WA-73 preamp. I am considering upgrading to the WA-67. Will it make that much of a difference?
Hi and thanks for your question. You might hear a variation based on the differences in the design with the 214 being solid state and the wa67 being tube based. Thanks for watching 🙏🏾✌🏾
Excellent?!
Would you go with this or an 87 for voiceover work?
You're good either way for voiceover work. Thanks for watching
@@WarrenHenry thanks Man. Nice job on these. Thanks for doing!!
For me, I plan to get both because collecting mics is fun. As an alternative, the AKG C414 XLS is great since its small and light weight
Hi Warren, what's your opinion on the AKG C214, Neumann TLM 102, I have the Lewitt 440 Pure and like it a lot.
Hi, those are also great choices. Keep in mind that the capsules might be smaller than their more expensive models.
@@WarrenHenry Thanks Warren, I know you have & like the 414 & the 214 is supposed to be the single capsule cardioid version. Concerned it may be overly boosted in bottom & top while having scooped mid? The TLM 102 looks to be more even & take eq better...any experiences with that mic?
Had two TLM 103’s that I sold. For me, It wasn’t the best mic for vocals ; Albeit I was working with a lot of singers with different vocal timbres. I always thought the top was too bright on the 103.
@@WarrenHenry Thanks Warren, Yeah the TLM 103 is a bit too pricey for me anyway & from what you & others say it's bright, same with the AKG C214...think I'd go the TLM 102 if I was choosing an affordable Neumann. Thanks for your help.
@@Beatledave7 I have the 102. Love it. Its def better than the 103. IVe used both. The 103 is too bright.
Wait, isn’t the WA87 the clone of the Neumann U87?
Yes
I sold my WA87. Never again. But this 67 sounds really close to the original. Ive cut vocals on an original u67 and that mic is nice!
I just got the WA87 R2 version and wow. Fantastic microphone! This is an end game mic and pretty much all you need in life. A top tier microphone no matter what it costs. It’s that good,......I still plan on the WA67 anyway since I’m a tube lover but the WA87 is already plenty good and really all you need.
