      @@MrFixItDIY This video mostly introduced me to loud hard computerized music (which kept me constantly distracted through the whole video), a fast talking pitch man, and a camera man who likes to show off his fast sweeping moves and quick cut video editing skills. I shouldn't have to do further research on this lawn mower. If I have to do further research on my own then this video was a waste of my time, wasn't it? If this product is not important enough for you to turn the fucking music off and clearly deliver good solid complete information to the viewer, then it's not important enough for me to research it either.

    A few comments, now that I've owned the mower for two years.
    1. the charge port needs to be completely closed before the mower will start.
    2. you can't touch the forward/reverse pedal (right foot) when pushing down the brake pedal with your left foot to allow starting. Also after a year, I had to slightly depress reverse to get it to start - it turns out there is a calibration procedure to fix this (I searched for "cub cadet cc30e pedal calibration" in google search).
    3. You must be seated to start.
    4. The "can cut in reverse" mode button takes pressing for 3 seconds to engage, but slips out of the mode if the mower is stopped. I wish I could permanently enable this mode during a session.
    5. The differential on the rear is nice for tight circles, but there is no differential lock, so if a rear wheel gets off the ground, you won't move.
    6. I often get temporary "Cut Deck Overload" messages for heavier work, which means you have to be patient, or turn the key off and on again to resume operation.
    7. The mower status messages are displayed on a LCD with no back lighting, so it can be hard to see indoors, or in your shadow outside. I carry a flashlight to help. Some of the status messages are 2-liners, and the font is then very small, and requires younger eyes to see. If you get out of the seat to read them, the mower switches itself off, so tough luck. The battery level is shown by a bar of LEDs, and is fine for all light conditions.

    I just bought a CC30E. Love it. But when the cutter is engaged, it is so quiet. I can sneak up on my dog, or grandchildren around a corner. I added a small electric horn, running off some penlight batteries, with a push button in the yellow plastic cowling below the steering wheel. Cost me about $7. Parts from eBay. I can beep before I come around a corner to warn them, and beep and wave at my neighbors who are on their gas mowers. Did whole 1/2 acre on 2 bars of the meeter.

J'ai fait la tonte de ma pelouse environ 15 fois de septembre 2020 à juillet 2021 et j'ai dû faire environ 8 tontes avec ma tondeuse de 21 po. électrique. The key to choosing an electric mower is make sure it says "lithium" as far as battery type. Do not get the ones with the "sealed lead acid" or "sla" type. Lead acid batteries are lucky to last maybe 5 years. Lithium is the way to go👍

    • @jjpac2011
      @jjpac2011 9 месяцев назад

      @@roadrunnerorange I have to disagree. I have an Ego mower, blower and trimmer (each came with their own batteries). I've had to take advantage of the 3 year warranty on the 5.0 Ah battery for the mower (will eventually cost $400 to replace since no warranty on the replacement). The battery for the trimmer failed just after the warranty. The remaining battery works some days and others it goes to red immediately, only for it to work the next day. There's a reason there's a 3 year warranty on their lithium ion batts. They fail long before they should, considering how much they cost. I have a 3rd of an acre with a decent sized home on it so even less of a yard to maintain. Love the tools though.

Where is the engage disengage switch for the blades? I have used it before - but went blank tonight. Love it - older disabled and I can do the front yard at my farm easy, the back yard a little more difficult - not as level.

    I was getting ready to purchase a CC30e cub cadet electric riding mower until I spoke to an authorized dealer who told me the cost to replace a battery is about $1350., they will last about 7 years, and you need 2. That's a total cost of about $2700. You can buy a new machine for that amount. I thought they had only one battery, but the dealer told me they have 2. I was totally floored when he told me this.

    I have a Cub Cadet electric mower. I also have about an acre size lawn and the mower's battery gage has never slipped below 100% while mowing! I love it but I'm having a heck of a time finding information about storing the batteries for winter and the nights are already getting down until the 40s. I don't a a clue how to remove them and someone suggested I put them back in the mower a couple times during winter and give them a quick charge up. Any idea how to get the batteries out, if it's necessary? Tahnks. By the way, because so many people mentioned it, my mower is silent until the blade is engaged and then it's no louder than any other mower. It's great riding around the yard without the sound of a combustion engine.

    MrFixit, that's a pretty slick video. The price of EM is way too high for me and there aren't enough used ones out there yet to take advantage of or maybe people just aren't selling them after the new wears off. There's got to be some down-side to these besides the price. How long before the batteries need to be replaced and how much? I worked on a golf course and all the mowers had reels. To me, the best mowing solution would be electric tractor with reels. It would be a lot less noise and a much better cut. I don't like noisy machines, do you? I was looking at this machine but am hesitant as I have as from the back to the front of my home, is 10 feet of a rise over about 30 feet as I have a walkout. Lot is about 1/4 acre. The steep hill is about 10 feet wide. The balance of my back yard, approximately 80 ft by 70 feet, also drops another 6 feet to one corner such that half the time, one is going to be on an uphill grade. Using a self propelled mower it takes about 45 minutes to cut. Anything larger than 30 inches would be too large. Question is, will the grade kill the battery before it finishes? I am 6 ft 250 pounds so it is also going to be carrying a bit of a load. At 72, with developing leg issues I was interested, but the sales guy at a farm dealer was not sure if it "would make the grade". I also have some 13 Maple trees, so would want a bagger to manage the leaves in the fall. Your comments please
