Having NPC orders unlocks something massive. It's now realistic to have a multi profession (warband quests) questline and campaign, with you gathering and making all kinds of things as part of a bigger storyline.
I'm all for this change to crafting orders. I tend to only craft stuff for myself on my main so being able to level up my skill to max with this will give that little bit of extra push.
That's the issue I had with dragonflight was you couldn't really level unless you had work orders.
hopefully we are the only crafter that can see those npc orders, or just like in DF, the crafting orders window will be blank99% of the time

we are one step away from an entierly solo experience. next they are going to take the follower dungeon ai to quest with you and do raids and pvp, you and 80 bots in AV
Nothing says a system is absolutely and totally broke than having to provide fake orders… here is a thought, just let us make things to sell and let the market decide… the order system is contrived, nowhere in any economic system do you bring items to a washing machine factory or car factory and ask for stuff to be made…
You do realize that this is how a good fair amount of commission based jobs in real life work, right? You want a good picture drawn of your character? You provide references and potential colors youd like to see of the character. You want someone to build you a computer? You can bring them computer parts. You want someone to install a new exhaust on your car for you? You can bring them the exhaust you want. Even if you aren't doing those things, there is an extra cost for Commissioned requests in real life to cover the worker to get those materials themselves. It's the difference between paying someone to do a jigsaw puzzle for you and paying someone to get a jigsaw puzzle and then do it for you.

@@D3th10rd off course you are speaking of piecework, not manufacturing… and individualistic items not like Dell, HP, or Apple where they provide all the work and warranties… but all irrelevant to professions in WoW whose dual purpose is to provide in game gold so you can purchase items to use to power up characters…
I noticed that there is no guild tab for the crafting order screen. Also, I was hoping they would add a tab for Warbands.

All I'm going to say is where the fuck was this in Dragon flight I would have spent ages upon ages dealing with crafting orders and maxed out my crafting by the time I had got to raiding but because the system was Half Baked for blacksmiths the system was basically impossible once you reached one or two maxed skills after that you basically have to be in a guild unorder a level some more.. God that's annoying. I'm honestly happy to hear that they're making changes but as an individual who can't be bothered to join a guild join a guild this is such a nice change. I hope blacksmiths get some nice needed love because every other class seems to make money but this is the one that seems to continuously lose money.

Maybe the recipes will be in the mail OR they might already be on the crafter that has that profession. Or it might be a glitch.
I also hope those orders are PERSONAL ie other crafters don't see them or there will be zero available, especially if one lags.
I think this is still bad. The crafting system is still designed for Bot advertisers with 10 alts doing nothing but spamming trade chat sitting in a city. DO NOT DESIGN FOR 0.001% blizzard. Private order should either be removed or added a super restricted cooldown
Soul weren't you active with working orders at all during DF? How can you say you got nothing when it should be in your mail 👀
I think the rewards will go to mail... every time you completed them a mail icons apear on minimap...
Question: is there a daily limit on NPC orders like there is for public orders?
Recipes more than likely fall into your bag. Just might not show in the chat.
Is that how it looks when people place orders? I have literally never seen this on the live servers before. What a shitshow

They probably sent that stuff to you in the mail.
you'll have the same crafting bots sitting there grabbing these all day just like any public orders currently being done

I do hope they up slightly the rewards based off what materials you the crafter are using. Example it's 100-300 gold more if it requires epic/rare items in the work order. I know this isn't supposed to be a stable source of income, but it will suck if you the player had to spend 1k gold for that epic/rare material off auction house. Especially if it's something you have no access to since you didn't want to do alts and it's a transmuted material.
The gold reward may be lower than the cost of using your own mats. The Auction house fluctuates so if they reward 70gold, but your materials are 100gold. You would not want to do that order assuming you are max level and don't get any other reward. Which I guess is fine.
Anyone mention no guild tab. Is that already being addressed

so with cross realm guilds coming how will work orders work for those in the guild from another server? Will we be able to help out a guildie?
Nice as a long term engineer i was contemplating just having 2 gatherings in TWW. Maybe not now

Can you move crafted BoEs from a main server to low pop servers with the warband bank without the use of a second account? I thought BoEs were okay but rereading the notes, it could be only BoAs that can be put in the warband bank.

Hope there's a reputation that will increase the gold rewards. Otherwise it's not worth it
hopefully it works, it was my biggest disspointment in dragonflight, I dont do crafting for the quasi pvp/guild favorite crafter.
