That black mineral is manganese oxide. When you see that with quartz and iron, you have a very strong potential on rich gold deposition.

Thanks I’m familiar with Adelong tho’ never tried my hand gorgeous spot! So inside gets the plural and the outside gets the singular. Would it be a fair comment to say the larger gold will be nearer the apex of the bend?

The old saying "Gold is where you find it" always holds true.
Always good to try out those spots where is "isn't supposed to be" sometimes that is where the best gold is because everyone else before you thought the same thing, or the ground doesn't behave how it looks at first inspection.
Loving the videos, got me at home watching them instead of on the creek looking for my own :D
