- After a challenging few days of prospecting testing a new river and only finding small traces of gold. Determined to try again I team up with a mate and head back into another remote river to search for the richest alluvial gold deposits. We've been to this river before and had success finding good gold but this trip we want to try a new stretch of the river will the grueling work of hiking in pay off?

Always exciting! What a heart pounder when Levi found that nugget! No rush can beat the rush of seeing the edge of a piece of gold and not really knowing how big it is until you dig it out. Love getting any gold but the real pleasure is finding the elusive gold nugget. Tassie Boys videos make me want to hop the next plane and beg Levi to take me out on an adventure. Snake moved damn quick on water , I stalked up on a splashing sound flyfishing a small creek once only to find a tiger having a swim on the other side of a shrub😬.
I find some really rough bits in my local creek, one crystalline bit that under the jewelers loop I can still see quartz inside.

Suggestion:
Get or take a Minelab SDC 2300 on the next outing and find some of the chunky bits that will surely be hooked up in amongst some of those big bolders around the bends etc..or in the gravel in or near the river banks…

Fabulous finds and that black smooth piece looks very much like meteorite. If verified by a licenced geologist, it may be worth some money. We found a slightly larger piece in our river down the West Country and like your finds, our alluvial gold was exceptional. Talking exceptional is your video definition: looks more like 4K than 1080p on our laptop screen making your video a def keeper. Thanks Wendi all shot and edited in 1080 but I think my bit rate is what keeps them sharp I tend to use a little higher in post production than most 👍🏼

Yeah the boulders took some getting past always amazes me how the rivers and creeks change every few 100m sorry ya haven’t been able to get out mate rains have set in here so hasn’t been as pleasant now

Glad to see you with a buddy. It is easy to get hurt in these situations and you don't want to be alone. I made a solo sniping expedition last weekend and slipped off a huge boulder on my way back to camp. Luckily I didn't break anything but probably not the smartest thing to be doing by myself at 67.
Yeah it’s always on my mind Ken I take people when I can but also like solo missions I just have to eliminate as much risk as possible
Hell I'm impressed you're doing that at 67. I was bulletproof and invincible until I hit 59. The "golden years" are a lie. ;D

I had to make several solo trips this year because my pool of friends has shrunk as they are no longer physically able to make these trips or have passed away!! The only thing golden is that I did find nice gold and I'm still able to do this.

Great vids. My young bloke wants to give sniping a shot when I'm out panning. We live in an area where the creeks are pretty cold too. Just wondering, what thickness wetsuit do you wear to try stay warm? Don't think he'll go back for seconds if he freezes. Cheers, keep up the good work.
Thanks mate I’m wearing a 5mm opencell suit sounds to thin but they’re extremely warm being opencell the only downside is getting into them as you have to use a lube to slide in
