7:56 There's an cartoon from the 70s called Peter Puck (produced by Hanna-Barbera, the same company who made cartoons like Tom & Jerry and Scooby-Doo), which I think it's pretty good at explaining the rules of hockey (such as the numerous penalties and offsides), as well as some history of the sport itself. Mind you, with it being a cartoon from the 70s, some rules have changed or have been removed in modern times. Also, it's a rather long video (40-ish min; I think there are some videos that are broken into parts) so just keep that in mind if you do decide to watch it. And I totally get if you don't want to, I just wanted to suggest it.

3:17 Boarding is what they call charging when you do it to a player who is....well, against the boards (the walls at the sides of the ice). You're not allowed more than 3 full strides (steps) from a glide before you hit someone. There's some flexibility and judgement calls for both of these penalties on the part of the referees. Generally speaking they are to punish an unintentional, but dangerous hit. Those NHL "greatest hits" body check compilations are full of them 😅
hockey are the most spectacular , fast and agressive team sport in the world. When you start to interest to ice hockey you look alot less the other sports. In playoff its a war on ice. NHL have the best playoffs to with the most famous league trophy in the world to the Stanley Cup.
It has been fun watching! I don’t know if it’ll stop me from watching other sports especially since my favorite sport is basketball. I hate that their playoffs collide with each other! But will definitely continue watching and pay more attention to it!
I always thought ice hockey was massive in the US - thought all sports fans would know the rules inside out. Maybe it’s more regional, like AFL/NRL here in Oz.

Most people do, but i live down south so there isn't a team where I am at so I never paid attention to it lol
