This is one of my favorite regions in World of Warcraft. The atmosphere and the urge to explore was absolutely awesome. The quests were really well designed and I really liked the pyramid dungeon. The lost city of Tol'vir was also wonderful. An area where I still enjoy questing today.
Cata gets a lot of hate but I still think it was a great expac. The new zones had great variety and really fleshed out the old world. BoT, BWD, and Firelands were great raids.
same with mop. besides the changes to the talent system which i dont rly care abt anyways bc the trees were just as bad, mop was a vast improvement on cataclysm. the raids were amazing, the best expac for class balance and pvp, and casual content like collecting and pets and holidays were improved upon.
I love that in some of the "Uldum Day" suites, there's a creepy duduk flute being played. It's a pretty solid reminder that Uldum is right next to Ahn'Qiraj.
One of the many faint details that really made that game special. I'll miss it forever. That game really made me feel some way that I cant describe. It's like. It was just a game, but I love how it related to every kind of person that's what the whole game was about. You could get out of this shit place and go digitally kick it with ur buddies and be unique
@@kheoran3565 I don't think he was referring to the bassoon nor the clarinet. There actually is a duduk present in the orchestration as well, but only plays in a few parts. It's sound is hidden within the arrangement, that's what he meant as well I believe. It would only be natural to add such an instrument to a soundtrack which evolves around Egyptian / Middle Eastern inspired fiction.
Parts of this are hands down some of the most sinister sounding music in WoW. The zone was this typical Egypt-style desert, but the soundtrack made it memorable.
I remember my low lvl rogue staring into the valley full of these giant statues from Tanaris and when I finally lvled up enough, this was my favourite zone, due to aesthetics, but definitaly, my most favourite quest-chain. Everything with Indiana Jones-esque and nazi goblin general... it was so fun !
And then we go from all the intrigue, the burried gods and the fate of a whole race of ancient people to an extended memetastic Indina Jones reference that feels like it never goddamn ends - the tonal shift gave me whiplash back then. I've never before felt a zone start so strong only to peter out like a dry fart halfway through.
i agree. i replayed it recently and once again got disappointed because the storyline of the tol'vir wasn't really the main focus. they could have done so much more with the civil war storyline but they focused on the indiana jones shit SO much. i still like the zone, but i wish the ending was more exciting.
man i stopped playing the game years ago i just buy new expansion only to quest through it once and quit again just for the music and ambience then finding videos and rewatching the zones high, this is like my favourite thing to do
Hey Everness, these videos are excellent :) I've kept them on in the background for the last month or so. Makes it easier sitting down to study the drier parts of medicine.
Russell Brower.... this game will not be what it was without him. I`m deeply upset that they let him go.... Whoever is responsible for that should burn... he should be in Blizzard forever, for all he did. An absolute legend. How is no one talking about this anymore, it`s beyond me. 2022 update - still fkin upset after all these years. 2023 update - even more upset. Fkin Blizzard. Mid 2023 update - still upset asf. Came to like my own comment. Will be back for 2024 to cry more.
Great vid as usual... I always felt that the soundtrack for this zone should have been way more influenced by Ancient Egyptian like music, given the look, feel and culture represented.
It was a very fun little parody questline they included to go through the whole adventure! Then the future expansions were just all rip-offs of Terry Pratchet no effort. The Harrison Jones ones were at least fun.
I laid my final WOW toon to rest in this region, literally made him lay down in a tomb and logged out for the last time. it was a good place to die, as i knew wow would only devolve in the future. i miss it
All of the videos you make are just amazing in every way! A perfect way to relax, study or just drift off. I noticed you didn't do any of the Legion zones yet and if you do, I'd love to see Suramar~ In any case, keep up the great work!
Spent hours farming here too haha. Literally got my druid from 80 to 85 simply by farming this zone. When XP from nodes was a bit much than it probably should've yielded ^_^
The music does a great job of bringing out that feeling of suspense and apprehension, like you're trespassing in a forbidden domain... the dunes have eyes... And you are not so small as to escape their gaze...
I shall study the MATHEMATICA to this greatness. Thou shalt know no mercy of my fury and wisdom, thou shalt not be underestimated once more! IT SHALT BE DONE!
Cata, best expac. It felt like a severe threat, but not universe ending. The old lore is what I miss the most about this era in WoW. The dragonflight lore was interesting, I liked the Egypt theme in Uldum, the undiscovered secrets aspect about Old God lore and everything about the Elemental lords. Throne of Four Winds has always been my favorite raid and the music is amazing.
I usually like background music in wow but this one made me fall into some kind of weird depression back when I was 11. I hate it, I remember I cried once. It gives you a strange feeling and it's very repetitive
While this music is really good, I don't think it characterizes Uldum's identity as well as other zones' music does. For example, Grizzly Hills really captures the essence of that zone. For a more appropriate expansion specific example, even Vash'jir captures better the bubbly, underwater, muttered tones of the zone. I really like Uldum for a lot of reasons, but I do feel like the music is a bit generic. Great music, but not fitting to this zone! This could've worked more for something like Ghostlands, a bit more creepy than I would expect, and incorrect instrumentation for something more Saharan.

@@-divinetragedy MoP is entirely underrated. The disdain for pandas overshadowed the most balanced and fun PvP expansion.
I like Uldum and Vash'jir zones of Cata, but I hate how they screwed up Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms, such as Shimmering flats and Tanaris.
Cata is probably my favorite xpac after Wrath and Legion, but i can see why people didn’t love the total overhaul of Azeroth
You idiot need to differentiate. Its not because of the zones or music -.-" that the people hate it

The best channel on RUclips. Period.
Thank you for the epic work!

Probably the coolest Cataclysm zone from my memory. Unfortunately the majority of that expansion was very underwhelming.
Yea, well they only had few nice zones in Cata but changed the whole world havent they:)
So what? Going trough same-looking zones for 10+ years would be truly painfull.
thats funny cause i loved that expansion except for this zone but now that i'm watching this video i'm sad that i didn't explore it more.

Right after Sholazar, one of my favourite zones, comes Uldum, another of my favourite zones. Great work!
Uldum is so amazing
where is uldum?

no king rules forever, my son.
My favorite Cata zone after Vashj'ir.
couldn't have said it better myself
I didn't spend much time in this zone since I missed the whole Cataclysm expansion. Yet I do very much love the Egyptian atmosphere.
Hah I just did a search for this a few days ago hoping you did an upload of Uldum...this is great, thank you.
As an ancient Egypt enjoyer, Uldum was always one of my favorite zones.
Your videos are my bckground msuci during my exam week thx !
did you graduate your exams?

This was THE place for me to farm Embersilk Cloth.. Two hours of intense farming and - boom, two stacks of 200..
My favourite Cata zone! Thanks for the upload!

Thanks for doing all these, man!
One of my favorite Kalimdor/EK zones. Man, I really enjoy questing here when leveling alts.
Omg thank you for this. My favorite zone, favorite music!
If there's one thing Blizzard has consistently gotten right it's the music
I think my favourite things about this zone are the sand and cloud textures, they are so smooth, too smooth D:
I LOVE YOU.
That's all.
Thank you for your wonderful work
Man the quest lane of harrison is one of the best things that I ever see on wow

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ZONE FOREVERRRRRR THANK YOU BASED EVERNESS
I love the effort and quality these are made with. Are you planning on doing any MoP zones? I'd love to see a Seven Winds or Townlong video one day.
Oh great i was waiting for this one ;-), thx very much
Awesome zone has amazing music and sounds overall. Thanks for uploading c:
Was worth trucking around this zone for hours for that badass Aquamarine Qiraji Battle Tank! I think

Un'goro belongs to the GAYS!
All of these are awesome Everness! Could I request the Ghostlands next/soon? :)
One of those zones you played through and then NEVER visited again.
I didn't much like Cata, Vanilla and TBC feel most like home to me but Uldum is my favourite zone, to this day.
como siempre hermoso trabajo, felicidades.Paz y bien para ustedes desde Chile

i was always really curious about this zone i was around level 47 and got killed by a bunch of elites when i tried ro explore it
