Little bit of lore about this game this was the first Queensland vs Queensland grand final, this was the cowboys first premiership, first ever GF golden point and in 2012 2013 and 2014 cowboys made the finals but were hard done by very close ref calls some would say robbed of wins so it was a many year process for them to win the premiership living in north Queensland it was a huge moment for everyone and a moment no one forgets
Even as a Broncos supporter I was not upset to see Thurston win a premiership, such a good game! Definitely need to watch the 2022 State of Origin Game 3 (decider), just make sure it’s the extended highlights 😊
1997 NRL GF between the Sea Eagles/Knights and the 1999 GF between the Storm/Dragons are some other awesome Grand Finals. The 1997 being one of my personal favorites.
Seconded both these recommendations, with '97 the choice if you flip a coin. Best GF I ever saw until 2015 happened. And epic with how crucial it was for Rugby League as a whole.
Haunting for Ben Hunt. As gutting as it would have been, he has overcome this event with some absolute standout performances. Thurston was one of the first to console him after the match. Knowing the impact it would have on him.
Yeah man not Queensland fan by any stretch of the imagination but this derby was jam packed full of action. I felt so bad for Ben Hunt when this happened but that’s sports ae Cowboys wanted it that much more. Ben Hunt has came a long way since that moment & good to see him bounce back.
Hunt got bullied out of the club after this one. Making his return this year though he most definitely isn't washed, that's something you might've heard from a salty dragons fan. Still an origin player.
yep this is great lore for Eamonn. After 7 years at the Dragons, Ben Hunt returns to the Broncos this year as a wise veteran, still playing at the top of his game, leading a team full of young stars in the final years of his career. Would love to see Ben get a prem. 🐎🐴🐎
ruclips.net/video/_UYg-GCknKQ/видео.htmlsi=LAzszx9JVwkgu0Fn Yo brother, please do yourself a favour and react to Origin game 2 2016. In this Game Johnathan Thurston puts on one of the best performances you will ever see. His pass in particular for the last try is amazing. Say you’re doing it to learn about the history of the game so you’re watching one of JTs best ever games. You will truly get more of an understanding of how good he is and realise why he is known as one of the 🐐 ruclips.net/video/_UYg-GCknKQ/видео.htmlsi=LAzszx9JVwkgu0Fn
Gotta watch the 2022 origin series next! P.s on a HUNT for a MILF is talking about Ben hunt and Anthony Milford, the broncos 7 and 6. Dope reaction🔥
hahaha
Sadly the Cowboy's coach Paul Gregory Green passed away in 2022. 🙏 RIP

The 2 calls that will always stick out to be is the 7 tackle set against the Sharks and the knock on by Foran. I’ve never let go of those decisions 😂
The best grand final ever.
I've watched countless replays of this replay. Poor Ben Hunt...

"On the hunt for a milf" Hunt and Milford are the halves😅
Last season the Cowboys still had 3 players from that team. Feldt, Granville and Taumalolou. This season they have only got Taumalolou left.
And Hess!
And since Ben hunt has moved clubs twice and hasn’t been the same since …now his gone back to the broncos hopefully it’s a good homecoming

Even as a storm fan I think this has to be my fav GF crazy at the time when it was live
Im a Cowboys fan in defence to hunt he had a amazing year before this game and he is the one of the main reasons Broncos made the Grand Final
Probably the best grand final ever. Watching that last try again still give me goosebumps

Broncos fans watching the last 2 reactions:
This is a horror movie!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to be a Cowboys supporter at this game. Just an absolutely epic night!
Greatest comeback in sporting history, up the cowboys!
Good to see you taking interest in rugby league. It’s a great game . What got you into rugby league ??
So Eamonn, now you know why it's ironic that Ben Hunt has gone back to play for the Broncos this year!!
King Joey the VIII greatest player I have ever watched in my 30+years of watching rugby league.
Awesome Grand Final Of All Time
Brocnos haven't won a grand final since 2006

Epic final!! Dare I say react to ST Helen’s vs Wigan 2020 Grand final (covid) no fans. Another dramatic final. 😢heartbreaking for a Wigan fan.

Karmichael Hunt is still the best broncos player to return with the last name Hunt 💯💯
