Just one thing to add, the French BEA conducted an audit of the Romanian investigators report and disagreed with the probable cause being an auto-throttle malfunction and pilot incapacitation, and instead stated that the probable cause was the "insufficient corrective action by the co-pilot to cover from the previous factors", and that while he had 9,000 total hours, he only had 650 hours flying planes with Western style ADIs and the majority of his flying career was flying planes with Eastern style ADIs which function completely opposite of each other.
Because the plane was flying through clouds, he became confused and unable to determine the position of the aircraft and couldn't take the corrective action necessary to recover the aircraft from its steep bank and dive.
