    Love these predictable, cheesy swashbucklers with lavish costumes. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

    My mother had this book,I remember reading it. I also watched the movie when it came out. Hugh Grants character wasn't Silver Blade, he was called White Throat, for the lace collars he wore. But that mullet. Oh, dear....😮

    I'm surprised she wasn't taken back inside the tower and returned to her cell. A fracas of this nature would've been an ideal opportunity to try and make a run for it(unlikely given those clothes, corset,many slips plus an overskirt.) It would be careless for the constable of the tower to take chances.

    this was... alright. unfortunately, the first barbara cartland movie i watched was "a hazard of hearts" and i've been comparing her other movies to it ever since. it remains my favourite. for me, this one could have had more interactions between the stars and more of a drawn out storyline. i still don't find it too bad though.

    Читал роман, по которому поставлен фильм, там до казни не дошло. "Разбойник"появился в зале суда,и увез леди. Но может быть, это русская адаптироввнная версия?

    With those big eyes of hers and if she were wearing a black wig, Lysette Anthony could have played Theda Bara

    • @LadyAranel90
      @LadyAranel90 8 лет назад +3

      +platosfriend Well, you could marry your cousin in those days and in some countries today you can legally do so, for instance here in Sweden, although not all that common.

      and it might have been second cousin... back then people were more aware of their lineage and family relations, especialy in high classes.

      Marrying blood relations may result to inherited family diseases or rare & new diseases. One reason, keeping wealth within the family.
