We all need a bit of innocence and romance in our lives at times - I LOVE this movie and watch it time and again.
jo egleton me too. got it on video when it first came out and I watched it again and again. I love it's innocent cheesiness
So right
"Rather a poor choice for a man's last words." Brilliant! )) Great film. Too bad a good quality version doesn't seem to exist. Watched this film once as a kid, and now discovered it here. The story is interesting, the pace is fast, the acting is good, the music excellent, and the leading lady is an outstanding beauty. What's also remarkable is that this low-budget TV production has such an ensemble cast!
Not particularly interested in "romance novel" stories, but something about this movie caught my attention when it aired on television in 1989. So I taped it, and I'm glad I did, as it's very good. Still have the videocassette. When it comes to this genre, Dame Barbara Cartland certainly knew what she was doing
davidpar2 I had it on video too and it's probably still in the attic somewhere. I loved this movie and watched it over and over.
so many classic actors together, good stuff
This is the fourth Barbara Cartland movie I've seen and they ALL have at least one sword fight. I think that's kind of funny.
Not sure if I'm wrong but the highway man looks like Hugh Grant? Nevertheless, love it!
He is Hugh Grant :-D
Thank you, I love those movies!

Almost as good as my top 10 Favorite Television Mini Series ,topped "I Claudius" , although, did NOT quite make it But Thank You 4 the upload, dear @tteao! It's a ! great Mini Series In my Opinion! But still "I Claudius" is the Greatest TV Miniseries ever made and shown on Television!!! Stephen Spielberg's In my opinion the top F (10) or (X.) Television Miniseries are as it follows: #10.:"The Corner", #9.:"Jules Verne's:Journey to the Moon (Utazas a Holdra)", #8.:"Shogan", #7.:"V-The original Miniseries" and "V-The Final Battle", #6.:"The Stand", #5.:"Stephen Spielberg's:Taken", #4.:"Angels in America", #3.:"Hornblower", #2.:"Rich Man, Poor Man", And finally Numero Uno :#1.:"I Claudius" And I want to mention another Kind of Miniseries, It' Basically One Long freaking Mini Series but it's 5 - three to four Parts Mini Series, so I couldn't place them, with the rest of those Mini Series So Here "Lonesome Dove", "Return to Lonesome Dove" ,"Dead Man's Walk", "Streets of Laredo" and Finally "Comanche Moon" It's the same story based on the Novels of the Great American Novelist:"Larry McMurtry" So! Back to "The Lady and the Highwayman" CHEEES GUYS! ENJOY THESE GREAT MINI SERIES!!!

a real bodice ripper
.Would have been really good if we could haven seen part 2 --- no marks out of ten for that tteao
OMG he killed the dog...!!!
Love it
I can't even recognize Hugh, his voice is different in this movie. I mean compare this voice to his voice in Sense and Sensibility. they don't even sound like the same person. how ironic.
Sounds EXACTLY the same to me !!!! Love Hugh Grant
He was young then, youthful voice
It's obvious Hugh Grant was wearing hair extensions.
Pretty much every actor in a period piece wears a wig.
They must have paid the cast members a fortune!
why do you say that?I like his interpretation
corny as Kellogg's corn flakes
It is hugh grant
I'm sorry. tooo dumb. Cromwell was dead 2 years before Charles II came to the throne; This is set in the 3rd part of Dumas' Three Musketeers books and with both cannon and muskets common, soldiers didn't wear full medieval helmets any more. And so on....
Dumas is my favourite author
Hugh grant it is
Can't stand Hugh Grant won't watch it
LOVE HUGH GRANT -- he can come and sit on the bottom of my bed and tell me bedtime stories any night of the week
jo egleton gross
Why are you here then?
10:18 hahahahaha That single scene worth watching this movie,That spoiled little lap Dog Tried to get Tough but got severely fucked up!Ian Bannen was such great Actor, just look at his expression as he"Stomping"that Dog to death,he looks Evil and exited for the"Kill"The rumors are when he died him and the Wife were driving around Loch Ness and they saw,Nessie in the water they were both watching it,and she was so fixed on the Lake Monster, she drove off the road she survived RIP Sir Ian
It's a bloody movie --- just watch it and get a fucking life!!
