Stabilisation on Sony’s could be better in general but you can buy stabilised lenses to make them decent. So the only real downside is the fact it only has 1 SD card slot
I nearly did. There were a few reasons.. The main one being the autofocus apparently doesn't work well in 4k. But also the 4k has a large crop factor. I intend to start filming in 4k so I needed these things to be spot on. Oh and also the battery in the Sony A7C lasts a lot longer!
The stabilisation in the Canon is ahead of Sony though. In my opinion Sony's stabilisation is the only thing that lets them down. Active stabilisation is ok but it crops the image in way too far. When they figure that out I can't see a reason to go with Canon (now that Sony have finally sorted out their colour science!)
@@ONITMedia Cant really speak of sony since i did not use it. But the crop is significant on canon aswell how much specifically i cant tell but just by looking at it i would say enchanted removed about 1/4 of the area visible and "enabled" remove about 1/5 could be a little less hard to determ but it is alot.
The colour science is a big improvement. I’ve heard the autofocus is better too. The kit lens is better. And also it has gyro data so you can stabilise your footage amazingly using catalyst browse. The only thing that the A7C wins on is that it has 2 SD card slots
I’d say in most situations a full frame camera is too big to use as a vlog camera (depending on the type of vlog) but if you were to need a full frame then the Sony A7C would be the best choice because it’s the smallest full frame camera available
@@ONITMedia i disagree (if people want good quality aka not gopro, cellphone and similar) fullframe is the way to go since aps-c crops the image which means you are restricted to a very limited amount of lenses to be able to get "full body" without distortion (wide angel lens) on close distance.
There are plenty of lens options wide enough for the APS-C cameras that give a reasonable natural look, an example of that is Canons 11-22mm, or Sony's 10-18mm (set to around 15mm). But I never said I'd recommend APS-C either. A cell phone is a way better option for the average vlogger. The main and most important factor in what makes a good vlog camera is how much it will be used. And for most vloggers they will find that they simply do not want to pull out a huge full frame camera and point it at themselves in public. Along with that it is heavier to carry around as a vlog camera. Being able to capture interesting content will always be more important than the quality of the image. Therefore smaller, more compact cameras are the better option (as I said, depending on the type of vlog). That's why the saying goes, 'content is king'. So for the original question, IF someone definitely requires a full frame then the Sony A7C is the best choice as it's the smallest, but in general the smaller/easier to use the better for most vloggers. If they made a wider version of the zv1 or the g7x that would be the best option but until then I'd always suggest the Sony x3000 as I guarantee more content will be captured with it than someone carrying around a larger camera. ruclips.net/video/yxMYvyEprqk/видео.html
@@ONITMedia Exactly what i have :p m6 mark 2 (aps-c) with a 10-18mm which we use for adult actors streaming. it is not "wide enough" to be used as a handheld vlog camera especially if you turn on stabilization which is a requirement moving around. I do honestly believe that vloggers shall go for a full frame or some action camera just for the wide range. however for most other people aps-c should works just aswell since you are not depending on the camera distance.
I'm loving this camera! Check it out here: geni.us/SonyA7c
The low light test towards the end sold it for me. I hate noise with a passion haha
Yeah I’m so glad I can finally get footage at night without having to run it all through a de noise program!
I've been looking at this Sony A7C recently too. So far it looks good! Have you found any bad points?

How come you didn't go for the Canon EOS R?

when it comes to spec canon is behind every other major brand. i do use canon myself but i would go sony if i started to collect gadgets today.

Yeah I think they both crop similarly when it comes to stabilisation but the Canon adds an extra crop when using 4k and the Sony doesn't
For me, as a common YT user - almost no difference. I'm really suspected of such a good quality of the Canon (APS-C)
Suspected?
Is there any advantages of the Sony A7C over the A7iii other than just the size?

What a full frame be best for a vlogger?

I never thought I'd say this but the new Sony colors in this camera are better than Canon
I agree! They've given this model the same colour science as the A7Siii. Hopefully all their cameras from now will also have it!
What lenses were you using?
On the Canon M6 I had a 22mm (35mm equivalent) and on the Sony A7C I had a 35mm. So as closely matched as possible
