I sell stamps on eBay and have had the same routine for years. I get up whenever the dog wakes me to be let out. I put seed in the bird feeder then come in to smoke, drink coffee and bird watch while trying to get awake. I don't have a computer so I go to the library to print paperwork for outgoing orders that I put out for the mailman. With that done I lounge in the chair or bed with my phone checking eBay for anything worth buying, check my stuff on seller hub, check email and answer messages. Then afternoon nap time. As I try to drift off I watch stamp or eBay videos. In the evening I go back to the library to list my 8 items so I don't go past the 250 free ones. I do this pretty much every day. I can't understand why so little gets done!
Like you I don't work weekends. I have days where I can list 100s and other days hardly any but just keep scheduling ahead. Tuesday I run a toddler group and then decided to come home and go back to bed. No guilt as had listings going live
Thank you so much, he is so cute! One of the benefits of lockdown is I have many hand here helping to train him while he is little! I actually think it's the best time we could have got a puppy :)
It is so hard for me to have a routine. I have to get my son to school by 7:30. Then Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I get a 45 minute walk in, then I pack my orders, start taking pictures, go pick up my son at 11:30, drop off packages, take more pictures, steam items, clean area, do some listings, clean something in the house, dinner, bathtime, and bed time. Tuesday and Thursday are days I volunteer from 8-12, so that schedule gets mixed up a bit with shipping going out later in the day. Of course, I have to keep my husband's work schedule in mind. He's a firefighter, so his shifts are 24-hours. If he's off, he'll pick up our son so I can keep going with what I'm doing and shipping just goes out later. He's also the cook, so I don't have to worry about food. But if he's working and I'm volunteering then I have to leave an hour early to pick him up and then I have to remember to feed the child (which is hard since I forget to feed myself most days). Those are also the days I get most of my pictures taken since we both use the back room and it becomes a huge mess while I'm photographing. I also have ADHD, so I not only get distracted easily, but there are days when I experience my Mid-Day Crash. I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to prevent that, but when it happens, I'm out for several hours. So I also have to plan my day around the potential of being out of commission for 2-3 hours. Now, if you'll excuse me, it's 2:30 in the afternoon, my husband is at work, and my son needs his fifth snack of the day.
I try to shop 20 hours a week, photograph & list 20 hours a week. I try to increase my net listings by 100 each month on top of replacing what sold. I'm selling about 120 items a month, so it's definitely some work. I'm monitoring the lockdown in Australia and I'm incredulous of the tyranny in your country. We're praying for Australia. Hello, I understand totally about distractions LoL, By the way, I've subscribed to your channel! At this moment, I am also, trying to find a better way to inventory my listing a lot better! I need to buy a bulletin board to schedule my daily routines.
Great video as ever Mel - Just a thought on your listing routine - The eBay algorithm seems to favour sellers who list consistently, so if you could manage a bulk listing day of say 105 items, you could split this into a constant 15 new listings going live every day via scheduled listings. This would mean that you had 15 new for every day of the week including the weekends (so no work needed) and if you could do more, you could park these in your draft bank for those times when life gets in the way....
I used to feel like that but then I didn't list for 3 months and still got 1000 sales in 3mths lol. So now I don't stress if I don't list every single day but I do try and list as regularly as I can. But yes, my plan is to schedule listings for days I can't list. That's a great habit to get myself into. Having some listings in the draft box always is handy for days when other things happen last minute.
I am very much the same. I recently got made redundant after I was already working from home. I used to be more motivated and actually list when I had my job but now I find it super hard to get motivated even though I have all the time in the world to actually work on ebay now...go figure

Yes, I do buy in bulk most of the time so I don't need to source as often as others but I'll just adjust each week accordingly to make sure I can fit it all in :) Isn't Patch a cutie! He is the best distraction :)
Hi, love your videos and honesty and particularly the way you are happy to admit to personal limitation and mistakes - makes it much more interesting following your journey. Can I ask how you fit in sourcing and your book-keeping. I’m doing well part-time and considering moving into full-time soon so understanding how you fit it all in consistently would really help me understand the hours I will need to work.
Thank you so much! With book keeping for example, I have a reseller friend and her and I have both agreed that on the first Tuesday of every month we will spend that entire day doing our taxes. So next week, that will be included in my schedule. Sourcing will change things up but I'll just have to schedule it in and stick to it. I'll schedule it on the days I'm already heading out in the car or probably first thing in the morning after the school runs (once school is back)
It’s so hard to find something to stick to. This worked really well for me this week. Today is Monday so time to write a new routine for this week. I’ll mix it up so it’s a little different!
Love your videos! Yes, when we were in lockdown here in the US last year it was hard. I all of a sudden had my 17 yr old, 20 yr old and husband home. What was harder my husband was on a leave from the airline industry so he wasn't working while at home. And everything was so weird...my backyard was so quiet no airplanes flying over our house, the grocery store felt like you could hear a pin drop..it was crazy. We're you on lockdown last year as well or is your 1st lockdown? Just curious...thanks for your energy... you keep me motivated!
At the moment in lockdown I cant, but each Monday I will change it and schedule in time for sourcing. I often look for bulk buys which means I don't have to shop as regularly.
Yes one of my fave books ever! We read it in a reseller bookclub I'm part of. So many great light bulb moments in that book. Whiteboard was from Kmart!
I know, I have four and it's hard. I've worked from home for almost 21 years since I had my first child so I've done it with babies all the way to teenagers. Mine are a little older now (20,19,16,11) but even though they are independent and don't need me to do anything as such for them they are still a distraction in lockdown when at home and trying to work. It's always been one of the hardest things to juggle when working from home. x

Good tips!
My board would say : breakfast, snack, snack , lunch , snack 2nd lunch 😂
I'll schedule it on the days I'm already heading out in the car or probably first thing in the morning after the school runs (once school is back)
Lets go Mel ❤
Yes Jeff! Hope you're well!! x
Where can I buy this planner. Thank you so much for the video!
Kmart
Who doesnt want to feel joy every single day 🎵🎵🎷🎺🎸🎹🎸🎺🎷🎵
He he! Yes!! I know I do! :)
Love Patch, and your board. Where did you get the board? I know where I can get a dog. xx
He's so cute!! White board is just from KMart! It's awesome, the best whiteboard planner I have found so far!
Going to get me one of those...but no more dogs for us. He's GAWJOUS!!!🐕🐕
This is my biggest problem. I can’t create a consistent routine.
It’s so hard to find something to stick to. This worked really well for me this week. Today is Monday so time to write a new routine for this week. I’ll mix it up so it’s a little different!
Enjoy the videos,Mel :)
Thank you 😁I appreciate the feedback!
omg puppy!!!!!!
He's so cute!!!
Great video. Love your whiteboard - where did you buy it? It looks perfect for my needs.
Thank you, I bought it at K Mart! It's the best one I have found and I've tried quite a few of them!
@@backfromburnout Thanks!
@@cherrytreeblossom8475 No worries, anytime. I hope they still have them as I got this before lockdown!
When do you shop or restock
At the moment in lockdown I cant, but each Monday I will change it and schedule in time for sourcing. I often look for bulk buys which means I don't have to shop as regularly.
Atomic habits there missy. Where did u fine the whiteboard plz xx cheri
Yes one of my fave books ever! We read it in a reseller bookclub I'm part of. So many great light bulb moments in that book. Whiteboard was from Kmart!
@@backfromburnout lovely. Thanks for info and constant motivation. My ebay has moved from occassional to farely reg sales. Xxx cheri
@@dawn.cheripaul3168 That's awesome Cheri! I'm so pleased to hear that. Thank you for always watching my videos x
Well, my only daily routine is that I have coffee 10 minutes after I wake up....All kidding aside, do you have a designated day for sourcing books?
I noticed your computer, what is it and why do you like it? Is that a wireless keyboard?

Need professional sourcing manager ?
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
❤️❤️❤️
7 weeks!?!?!?! That is terrible.
Try to have routine with kids😹😹😹
I know, I have four and it's hard. I've worked from home for almost 21 years since I had my first child so I've done it with babies all the way to teenagers. Mine are a little older now (20,19,16,11) but even though they are independent and don't need me to do anything as such for them they are still a distraction in lockdown when at home and trying to work. It's always been one of the hardest things to juggle when working from home. x
Your pasta eating technique needs work!
Ha ha, I’m so lady like 😂😂 It tasted great though! He he
