“How will he watch passions now?”
Finally someone is asking the important questions!

"they had a lot of space on their floppy disks"
file format matters and always has. the same data can be dramatically larger or smaller depending on its format. the longest novel ever written could fit on a floppy disk if stored in the most efficient manner.

☝️Basically: a blank word doc is larger than a notepad .txt file with thousands of lines.

Anya was a demon. But she's human now, just with lots of demon memories and a problem figuring out human feelings etc.

Demon memories.... you mean life experience!

Anya's quite autistic in how she processes things and the difficulty she has with communication and not knowing how she's supposed to behave (think of a certain season 5 episode). I love her but she also irritates me at times.

"Yes, but I seem to have a design flaw." is one of my favorite lines from the show. Humans would come up with reasons and excuses for doing the things they're doing but not Adam. If nothing else, he knows himself and has no need to lie about it. He's probably my 2nd least favorite baddie (the Master is the worst to me) but I do love this line.

I sometimes forget how awful Maggie was, I mean the "vitamins" and also watching them at intimate moments without consent... Never sad that Adam skewered her tbh.

Forest is the one who hates Buffy. Graham, Riley''s other friend doesn't. If you re-watch the scene where they're going to take Riley away to the hospital, he's the only one who didn't draw his weapon on Buffy.

I don't know anything about the origin of Xander's shirt but a cool costume seeing that he is a construction worker now.

Adam is commonly given to Frankenstein monster type creatures, due to the religious connection of a first created being...

Yeah, I like the way how no reactor that I have seen so far recognizes that that killing of the kid is an homage to Mary Shelley‘s Frankenstein novel

Goodbye Iowa a very average episode, but sets up the later half of S4 now we have established that Walsh was planning something very sinister with her creation Adam, and not only experimenting on the HSTs, but also the Commandos of The Initiative, as Riley is having symptoms of poisoning. Some great little comedy moments with Xander again, and of course to homage to the original Frankenstein when Adam meets the child.

Adam is the name of the first man, and also the name the Frankenstein monster was given in adaptations of the novel (Frankenstein being the name if the creator, not the monster, the monster is usually nameless).
And Anya is an ex demon, she was trapped in her mortal body effectively becoming mortal.

      > Adam is the name of the first man, and also the name the Frankenstein monster was given in adaptations
I don't know if it's necessary, but I want to expand on "first man": that means the first human created by god (in the Genesis section of the bible.)
The full title of Frankenstein (the 1818 novel) is "Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus".
Wikipedia: "In Greek mythology, Prometheus is one of the Titans and a god of fire. Prometheus is best known for defying the Olympian gods by taking fire from them and giving it to humanity in the form of technology, knowledge and, more generally, civilization."
So Dr. Frankenstein is essentially playing god when he's trying to create new life. His first creation is called Adam, just like the Christian god's first creation. The subtitle ("Prometheus") suggests Dr. Frankenstein is being a naughty boy by defying the natural order of things-sending himself, a man, to do a god's job, using his wiz-bang "miracles" of science (technology, knowledge, etc.).

Adam - the real bad guy of the episode and unknown to the Scoobies.
Who the Scoobies chase - A dead demon.
That's a lot more interesting a concept for an episode than most people give it credit for.
Maggie mad Adam from human - how? By killing humans, or digging them up, or saying this was all for research purposes with people who loaned their bodies to science, or cadaveres? Either which way Maggie just ends up being Dr. Frankenstien to the monster.
Adam is willing to explain the season finale and Riley is too upset and chemically interuppted to take advantage. 🙄☹

Always love Spike, played by an American Actor; mimicking the real accent of a British Actor (himself using a fake British accent), pretending to do a bad American accent. If not for Tara it would be the best thing about these post-Hush eps ~ the rest of this part of the comment would require spoilers so I'll shut up now :-) Also, looking back twenty-five years later it's really heartbreaking to see the Riley/Buffy relationship, kerk

Just FYI, at an old job, some of my coworkers watched Passions at lunch. I was usually reading but overheard the episodes. Two years later I was at home and Passions was on one of the channels. I didn't feel like I missed much.😂

Fun comments and don’t be concerned that you are unsure of what’s happening and what will happen . You’re where we were when we watched this when it aired. Be patient, Buffy always explains all… just never on our time and not the way we want it to play out.

11:52 Argghhhh!! So close!! No reactor I have ever watched seems to understand this scene. But I feel like you were so close. I thought if anyone would get it, it would be you. Not even people who have watched the show numerous times seem to get what they were going for here.
Maybe now that you're further, you can look at this scene again between Willow and Tara and understand what they were going for?

Isn't it obvious? He killed her, because demons don't play by the rules. They're trying to control Demons and she was dumb and put a bunch of demons together, and that's the result.
    Duh!

Tara is a sweetie, and this is the first time we get a hint of something potentially off with her. I know you'll theorize, but the answers you seek may not be coming for a long while yet... Or maybe they're already here. You never know! 😈

What kind of monster name is Adam? Well have you ever seen “Dark Shadows” if not I highly recommend. And I mean the series not the lame Johnny Depp reboot. I’m convinced Buffy’s Adam is whedon’s homage to Dark Shadows.

    *SPOILER*
Information on behind the scenes action that effected/affected the show..
24:31 the original concept for the series, it had to be changed because the Actress lost faith in her role on the show and wanted to move on.
Originally this was supposed to be an updated retelling of Frankenstein from those of us who believe Doctor Frankenstein was the monster of that Novel and Frankenstein was the victim.
