- Hi everyone! Todays taste test is some cherry type tomatoes that I’ve grown from seed. I’m trying out 3 open pollinated and 3 hybrids today. I hope this video is helpful for you in making choices for what plants go in your garden next year.

🙂 Ben adds a little more craziness to the taste tests but it's still the taste that matters!
I've got a few of the bumblebees but I'm not sure that I have the Green Bumblebee. Thanks for giving me something new to add to my list! 🙂
I’m glad you are enjoying them. All of the bumblebees I’ve tried have been great. I may just have a row of all the varieties of bumblebees next year. They are very beautiful.
I think this was one of the best taste test videos!
I like how Ben goes through all of the scenarios of tasting 🤣
Keep up the great work you two!
So glad you enjoyed it. We are tasting so many new ones this year. I think we’re up to 110 tasted right now.
So nice to see Ben doing this with you.
Yes. I’m always happy when he sits down with me to do a video. He’s so fun.
Love this, you two are very funny together. I did’t think of smelling them! Great vid 🙌
Oh yes the smell can definitely tell you some about the tomato. I usually give things I put in my mouth a little sniff. 🤣
Great video as always, very entertaining with the whole crew involved. I saw a couple I'm really interested in now , thank you for doing these videos I personally think they help people decide what they will grow.
Have a great day 😊
Thank you so much. I’m glad you are enjoying them. I have several more that need editing. And tonight after work again I’m tasting some more.
I need Green Bumblebee! Already had it on my wish list, but now you’ve made me want it even more!
I love you both! Ben is so funny! Can’t wait to hang with you guys in January!!! 💜
So glad you’re enjoying them. I’ve got about 8 more I need to edit. I need more hours in my day.
Another great video. I just found your channel and I really am enjoying it. Can you give a lot of great information I am interested in putting a lot more small tomatoes in my garden next year. Thanks for all the great information. Hugs and kisses from grandma, Sandy, and Debbie
Wonderful !! I’m so glad you found me. And thank you for your kind words and encouragement. 😁
8.10.23 @11:30 here in SE PA. That was another fun taste testing episode. Thanks for helping me to pass on getting the Honeycomb & Sunsugar cherries. Loved Ben's tomato eye balls. I thot he put in a jewelers loop eye piece at first to inspect the tomato more closely. 😂 I burst out laughing when I heard Jen saying it was a cherry tom. The 2 of you are such a cute fun couple . One can easily see you're madly in ❤️ with each other along with some of your tomatoes 😅
Yes I absolutely adore my husband. He always makes things much more of a good time. I’m glad you enjoyed watching. 😊
You two are very cute!! Love your taste tests!
Thank you. I appreciate your kind words. 😁
Ok, Ben and Jen show is hilarious.
Oh and tomatoes look great.
🤣🤣Ben sure does make them more fun.
Ben definitely adds a entertainment element to the tomato testing videos! 🤣 I will be trying a few of the bumble bee varieties next year! I started sunrise bumble bee seeds but accidently gave them all away so I will have to try again next spring!
Oh no. Definitely try the bumblebees again next year. I’ve lived all of them so far.
I like how proud you are of your husband. You two are very cute together. ❤
Thank you. It’s true I love him dearly. Im so lucky to have him as my best friend.
I LOVE sun sugar. I love the splash of sweet it has. Interesting. I love watching your taste testing tomato videos. Wow that was a mouthful. ❤
😕thanks. I’m glad you’re enjoying them. There’s alot more to come
As soon as I saw Blue Bumblebee, I started shaking my head. Most embarrassing tomato I’ve ever grown, unworthy to be called a tomato-NO FLAVOR. I let them rot on the vine until I pulled the plant out and threw it away. I tried it with my step dad and he felt the exact same. So, hooow did you get yours to taste good? Was it a fluke? It makes me want to grow another one. Because they were absolutely GORGEOUS and prolific. Crazy.
Oh wow. That’s so weird. I definitely feel there’s a lot that goes into how a tomato can taste. The health of the dirt, the amount of rain, the heat or lack of heat. I also think everyone has to try things for themselves because we can all have different opinions. I know I have friends that were super impressed with a certain tomato and I wasn’t. 😁
@@jencordial mine reminded me of how your husband described one- it tasted like air. 😂😂. It’s probably the other variables or else me and my step dad have some missing taste buds! Haha!
Only have grown the sunrise bumblebee but now definitely convinced I must grow more of their other varieties for sure ☀️
All that we’ve tried have been fantastic. Very productive and tasty and the plants all have good disease resistance too.
Sunrise Bumblebee ist the best. Bosqueblue had No taste for me
Facts and fun facts are a nice touch to the video
I’m glad you like them. That was his idea. He said he wanted to make the taste tests more than just us eating tomatoes. He always finds some good facts.
These taste tests are so fun. I must ask, how is your Oaxacan Jewel doing? I chose Virginia Sweets as my red yellow bicolor. Want to try one smaller and more productive next year.
I’ve gotten a few Oxacan Jewel so far. They are pretty good.
Ben, I agree the sunsugar after taste does taste like a vegetable or something 😊 I was so excited to taste it this year because of the hype BUT WAS disappointed
Sometimes I even think the flavor of tomatoes can change somewhat from year to year as well. There have been some varieties that I thought tasted better or worse in different years grown.
Thanks for doing these taste tests! I grew sun peach this year too and wasn't impressed with the taste either. Very pretty fruits but taste was a little lacking to me
Your welcome and thank you for watching. I was disappointed with it. I’d heard from someone it was there absolute favorite cherry ever. So I had really high hopes for it. Just goes to show me I always need to try things for myself. We all have different opinions.
tasting for the first time so many cherry varieties I've grown FINALLY! lol so far ghost cherry wow so prolific and a first for me when I can describe a flavor as buttery. it tastes like when you cook tomatoes in a lil bit of margarine, good though! had to share 🙂
Oh my. Never heard of ghost cherry. It makes me think of ghost pepper but I doubt it’s spicy at all. 🤣. Glad you’re finally getting some harvest. It seems to happen all at once with the slicers for me. I’m over run with them now.
Your hubs is hilarious!
Thanks. Yes I love when he does a video with me.
Legend has it.. if you run over a Canadian, they might apologize for accidentally denting your car. Just don’t let em catch you running over one of their moose
Gotcha 😆
Ben is a no bs reviewer 🤣
I love that he does these taste tests with me. It’s fun to hear someone else’s perspective and he is a hoot. Just says exactly what he’s thinking.
Maybe next uear have a scoring out of a 100
@@alfrancis8 I said that last year that I was going to have some sort of rating system and then this year rolls around and I totally forgot. I will have a video later on of my top 20 of the year though.
I posted a cool documentary if you haven’t seen it. It’s very important if you like to garden to watch
Oh absolutely. I will definitely check it out. I’m very behind in watching anything right now. It’s been a very busy few weeks. 😁
