    I have C-PTSD because people have used and abused me since I was born.
    My dog healed my broken soul.
    Those loving beings must be send from heaven- I have no other explanation for this miracle that happened in my mind, body and soul.
    I wish this veteran all the best, may God and all the angels above bless him and his beautiful dog

    Blade, as a fellow Marine Veteran, I would like to thank you for your service to your country and to your fellow Marines many of whom, you must realize, would not be with us today if not for you and others like you.
    I am so sorry you have to deal with the pain that PTSD causes, but I am so very happy you have found DD and she is helping you heal and become whole once again.
    Cherish every moment you have with her.
    Oorah my brother.

    This made me cry. My husband is a vet as well and I know that our pets are so important to him. What a beautiful story, it is such a shame that the military does not support more so with their vets facing PTSD and other issues when they return from war. Everyone should watch this video. God Bless Pets for Vets!

    I'm no veteran, but i suffer from PTSD since childhood, so i recognize virtually everything that's said in this video. I have been close to losing my fight against the PTSD several times, but the last 13 years, it has been easier to "endure", thanks to my dogs. My Saint Bernard saved my life several times (literally) and i always felt so secure when he was around and "looked after" me. After i lost him, i knew that i had to get myself another dog, or else, i would be lost again!
    And although my current dog (since 8 years), is not able to save my life physically speaking (he's too small), his presence and unconditional love, still gives me a reason to live.

    oh my goodness. if I wasn't around people right now while watching this, I'd be bawling. literally. can't remember the last time when a video story touched my heart this much. while I will never know what it's like to be a veteran suffering from PTSD, I can relate to the suicidal thoughts and the depressing doldrums and lows of life. I'm so, so happy that you are here today Blade! thank you~~~

    Dear Blade: Thank for your courage in coming forward to relate how you developed PTSD. Your heartfelt account is a great inspiration to other soldiers who may be experiencing the same kind of intense pain you were feeling, prior to getting Didi. You truly are an American Hero. I know the healing power of man's best friend, because I had two of the best guardian angels I could ever have. Their love was unconditional and absolute. They brought a lot of joy into my life. I am happy that you have a guardian angel as well, Didi. Best wishes always.

    I love this! There is so much more to matching people with their 'therapies' than sitting around talking or doling out medication. Sometimes what you really need is a dance class or a bush walk or a trip to that place where they throw pigment at each other (someone will know what I mean). 'Healing' and 'remedy' are not as clear cut as biochemical machine maintenance.
    Thinking outside the box is also essential for learning and business. We don't live in the world as discrete systems that can be 'fixed' by balancing chemicals and controlling unwanted behaviours. We are integrated, loving, hungry, easily-distracted miracles that surprise each other everyday just by being ourselves! I see I am raving, I guess this video had a big impact on me. Know you are loved if you know nothing else...

    Are there any organizations like this still out there? I originally found this beautiful Lab mix for myself after 3 yrs of extensive research. I've been training her more than 2 yrs. I'm not a professional trainer.
    She is so awesome and smart, I want her to go to a veteran in need. Not only is she empathetic, loving and learns fast, she has a laundry list of tricks. Everyone who sees her and finds out what I'm doing, wants her. I'm not going to give her away to someone who just wants a cool dog and people lie!
    I just want a professional to see her! Someone has to see her! She's amazing!

    this is good; opening up to the notion that it's okay to ask for help.
    at the same time advancing the notion that animals are like you and me---sort of.
    enough to respect and honor them like we respect and honor this soldier whose gone through the gates of hell and came back out.

    I thank God everyday for my sweet pooh. I had lost everything except the air I breath. I suffered from sexal abuse as a child, ADHD, anixety, panic attacks, drug addiction, Back injury, and hate!!!! At Life's bottom and didn't want to die , that is only because I had tried this route a few times in my life and for God's purpose he has for me he wouldn't allow me to die. 4 x's tried to over dose on pills, 1 x unintentionally OD on cocaine. March of 2012 I had a family friend of ours to allow me to come live with them. It was here that I found my shitzu. Sweet Pooh. He has been here for me alone with my family, frriends, community, church family and counselors and the workers of Region 8 and yazoo mental health. I am back on track and better than I ever have been. I have been clean and also I will be graduating my Drug Court program. I know in my heart that the statement "Pets Help Heal"! It's truth and fact.

    What a wonderful service, and great story...but NOBODY seems to want to address the root of the problem...which is WAR......and combined with KARMA.....WAR IS WRONG, and mothers and father need to teach their children the value of life, and the importance of not going to WAR. This man helped people who were willing occupying another country.. When you participate in a wrongful action, then you begin the cycle of it being returned to you...and this is a clear example of what happens when you aid in causing harm to another....

    • @PhoenixAquua2012
      @PhoenixAquua2012 10 лет назад

      Had he been taught and raised more intelligently, he would NEVER have enlisted, and he wouldn't have to experience such pain....shame on his parents for failing him, and not teaching him any better.

      hahaha dude you've got a Kanye complex going on. I'm not a soldier neither do i like war but i have never heard such ignorant drivel in my life. War happens, and people have to fight them and its sad, but all this talk about karma is laughable, war has been happening since the dawn of man, its unavoidable.

    Go to your local dog pound for stray unlicensed animals. They have cats and dogs depending on the state and county they might even have different types of animals. You can adopt an animal that you bond with for little money.

    While we should be glad that this man got the help he needed, America STILL needs to answer for the Vietnam-era mistreatment of our men and women in uniform because of the selfish idiots who pulled all the classic-era stunts.
    Jane Fonda PLEASE take note.
    That said, pets are amazing and they can truly heal an individual, as I speak from experience as many others can also no doubt attest to.
    Blade, I wish you the very best, and may the good days get longer, and the bad days shorter. Peace!

    Havent read all the comments yet, so sorry if this has already been brought up. But it concerns me and confuses me that this man wouldn't have a girlfriend. What kind of society are we living in where men like this have to struggle with loneliness, but men on death row get hundreds of letters from anonymous women begging for marriage and shit?

    • @yasuewho
      @yasuewho 10 лет назад +8

      Maybe he doesn't want to have a girlfriend. There's no rule that says one *has* to be in a romantic relationship.
      With PTSD it can also be extremely hard to have a relationship too, depending. I can be extremely withdrawn. I can go from zero to fear-driven, irrational rage (rare, but it happens). It took a long time for me to meet anyone that 1) I wanted to be close to once PTSD had me 2) Someone who was willing to understand what I go through and love me as I am.
      That said, if I couldn't be with just the right person, I wouldn't be in a romantic relationship. It's better to be lonely and depressed and freaking out, than to be in a crummy relationship and lonely and freaking out lol.

    • @chewface
      @chewface 10 лет назад +2

      If a man with PTSD is capable of being loving, supportive, and nurturing to a dog...he could easily do the same with a human. The problem is: there are so many guys like this that somehow manage to go through life being single and alone. And it annoys me very much. And then you got ol' alcoholic-domestic-violence Billy Bob down the street. 6th grade education. Complete piece of sh;t. But he's always got a woman in his life. There's something truly wrong with the universe.

    • @Domino3925
      @Domino3925 10 лет назад +1

      chewface maybe you are what's wrong with the universe chewface. educate yourself on ptsd before commenting ... when you have flashbacks and are in that moment .it's consuming and some people ( Partners) can't handle it ....the divorce rate, vets are high due to ptsd ,...also suicide and homelessness ....a dog on the other hand does not understand that what his or her owner has is ptsd ...they sense pain, they sense a shift in the persons behavior and they react to it , without judgement.... so yeah buy a clue please ..smh..

      chewface wasn't debating... but hey feel free to bow ..while i plant my boot ...yeah you are what's wrong with the universe when the only thing you can comment on is why doesn't he have a woman in his life.. really is that the only thing you take from this video and what this man and other vets are going through .. yeah you should bow . now you can continue to clown yourself..while i watch.. i'm not going to argue with dead air on Veteran's day ....deaded !
