  • Values are intensely personal, and while an INTJ and an ENFP can find common ground, there will always be some differences in what they hold dear.
INTJs value structure, order, knowledge, competence, and logic. Above all, they value their own ideas and intuitions about the world. ENFP personalities are often seen as flighty or indecisive because they move between passions and ideas quickly and without looking back. Though INTJs often find ENFPs ideas interesting, they may seem overly idealistic, impractical, or inefficient. ENFP personality types know the value of being spontaneous, letting go, and driving toward the horizon. But that doesn’t mean they don’t also know how to work hard, even if their paths and passions seem to change often. Just because your passions or interests won’t necessarily lead to a career or relationship doesn't mean they’re not valuable or worth pursuing. ENFPs may feel INTJ's ideas lack a bit of heart, because they tend to be somewhat more detached, and often rather engage intellectually than emotionally. For ENFPs, INTJs life may seem overly structured, routine, and just plain dull. INTJs tend to prize hard work and achievement, in contrast with ENFPs, who put a higher priority on just enjoying life. While INTJs tend to be serious and goal-oriented, ENFPs are more relaxed and content to go with the flow, even may appear unmotivated, flaky, or even lazy. But in truth, ENFPs just value freedom and flexibility more than INTJs. For ENFP personality types, there is a fine balance to having a great time and following their goals. Balance is key in all things, from work to relationships, and no one knows its value better than an ENFP. Follow your ENFP friend or partner’s lead and do the things you like, because life should be enjoyable and not every interest needs to have a purpose. It’s okay to just enjoy things. ❤️

This kind of analysis should also be done on Pride and Prejudice! Darcy = INTJ, Elizabeth Bennet = ENFP. There’s a lot of scenes in the film that really explain the dynamics of the INTJ/ENFP relationship, especially when these types are in their unhealthy loops. It’s probably the only piece of fiction, I have yet seen, that explains that dynamic PERFECTLY.

as INTJ I don't hate fun, as long as it's in good company, like that of my INFJ husband.
I was raised by an ISTPxESFP combo so I wish my husband would go out more, I'm used to a more outdoorsy, spontaneous an reckless life style. I hated being with my parents and I could never get along wit them. buuuut, they did leave the house more often.

@@HisameArtwork ISTPxESFP? How does that even happen? Must have been an interesting dynamic. I'm guessing your father is the ISTP, and you relate more to him? I suppose you being an INTJ came from a desperate need for order. As an INFJ, I buddy up quite nicely with INTJs, as we love in depth one on one conversations. The INTJs I know, I would describe as "fun", but I suppose "fun" could mean different things to different people. Personally, rolling around on a beach with a bunch of dogs licking me doesn't really strike me as fun, but I do get the sense that I'm generally more spontaneous than the INTJs I'm friends with...

    Correct because,
•The smiling at the beginning at the enfp, bc deep down you just want to be dumb.
•The man thinking he came up with a difficult question, while the enfp answers with ease a deep unheard of answer that solves 3 trivial problems the INTJ has been trying to solve in their head for the past month.

Nah seriously. As an ENFP, getting the most out of life is the best possible way I feel would be "living life to the fullest". It's way more important to me then achieving a list of structured work/business oriented accomplishments. But don't get me wrong, I definitely see how someone could enjoy that. Just for me, I ride life like riding a bolt of lightening, and I'm good at it. The stories I have from the experiences I've went through, are likely just as phenomenal as the accomplishments an XNTJ has. I've seen and done things in life you probably would not and could not believe are even possible and I do stuff like that regularly. I love being an ENFP-A flying by the seat of my pants 👖

As an INTJ I can see how some people enjoy that approach to life, but I know the If I tried to do that I would be miserable the entire time. You get happiness from living life to its fullest, and I get happiness by see a carefully crafted plan get carried out smoothly. I suppose both approaches have their pros and cons.

@@ENDER_Music I think INTJ’s need ENFP’s who are “intellectually” fun, and would stimulate them intellectually. I’ve met INTJ’s who have (secretly 🤪) admitted that the reason they like some of us, ENFP’s, is because we understand their depth while also giving them an entrance to the more easy-going, fun, connection to life, and yet with space for some theoretical approach to it. Not that INTJ’s are theorizers purely, or don’t know how to have fun, quite the contrary. They just need those certain ENFP’s, (perhaps those with very strong and developed Ne + Te functions) who can sense and appreciate that inner curiosity and depth within them, and most importantly understand what the value of planning and long-term vision means to the INTJ. Likewise goes for the INTJ who has very strong and developed Fi functions to understand the ENFP. If both types master these functions, they’re a match made in heaven for sure.
